Sykes however, [[NobleDemon refuses to rig a game between the guards and prisoners to favour the guards]]. He also tricks the governor into betting that the guards will win. He respects fellow long-serving convict Doc and tries to avenge his murder. He carries himself with style as the unofficial "owner" of the convict team and tries to get Danny substituted when it looks like he's going to [[ThrowingTheFight throw the match]]. The film ends with the governor heavily in Sykes' debt as a result of the convicts' victory and [[MightAsWellNotBeInPrisonAtAll Sykes blowing up the governor's car to deter him from seeking revenge on the inmates who cost him the bet]]. |
