* {{Adorkable}}: Pablo can be a bit naive for a diplomat, but his heart's in the right place. He looks downright adorable when he thinks Burk's made a HeroicSacrifice.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Every piece of artwork in the comic's drawn from scratch using MS Paint (aside from a few effects added in photoshop). No mean feat considering it uses a CastOfSnowflakes.
* DiagnosedByTheAudience: Noah snarks freely at his classmates and has trouble remembering their names/faces (to the point that he has trouble recognising a friend who's changed his hairstyle), but he's quite [[http://www.neorice.com/hoh_257 shocked and apologetic]] when someone ''tells'' him he's being rude. Fan wiki suggests it is [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosopagnosia prosopagnosia]] — reduced ability to recogize faces and facial expressions.
* EnsembleDarkHorse: Mr. Rat the smuggler quickly became popular due to his GenreSavvy and agreeableness in a world full of unreasonable adults.
** Bindy is also fairly popular despite being a tertiary character at best, possibly due to her shy and quiet nature. She also gained a lot of sympathy because she was genuinely upset with Lord Infinite's death even though he couldn't be bothered to remember her name.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Noah. Even ignoring the other protagonists as competition, he's whiny, snarky, and has no social graces, yet still manages to accumulate a large social circle. What's more, he constantly refuses to acknowledge or use his magic powers and yet still seems to accumulate skills from them out of 'natural talent'.
** Burk. When your only two options for 'core of the character' are being an idiot hero who automatically wins every conflict with nine times the ease of literally any other character and a half-assed joke, or PRETENDING to be an idiot hero to troll everybody, even the whiny failure seems dynamic and interesting.
