Even weirder in issue #4 of the comic book [[spoiler:when everyone confronts Taurus Bulba and she doesn't even ''mention'' her grandpa's death, only that Bulba kidnapped her for the code to his Ramrod machine.]] You'd think it might come up.
4	** In the "Campaign Carnage" arc from the comics, Cattankerous splits the Thunderquack in half when Launchpad rams him with it after he grabs Darkwing. Given that the plane is Launchpad's brainchild, one would think he'd be upset over it being damaged to the point of needing ground-up rebuilding, but it never comes up.

6	** Darkwing himself, as well as Tuskernini and Steelbeak.
7	** Negaduck! There are some people who dislike DW for his ego, but totally adore Negaduck, even though his ego is just as huge as Darkwing's.
8	* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The theme song. Not just an awesome theme song, but probably one of the best pieces of NewJackSwing ever written. And which includes a friggin' ''{{Theremin}}'' and steel drums in the second verse! It really does have ''everything''. Even the instrumental end credits version with that screamin' alto sax solo kicks ass!
9	* BadassDecay: All the members of the Fearsome Five, sans Negaduck, are never as much of a threat when they appear together. Alone they can be enough of a threat to carry an episode, but when they are part of the team they typically act as little more than henchmen for Negaduck. Liquidator got it by far the worst since in his debut episode he was more of a threat on his own than the entire team was in later appearances, but the writers had to [[ForgotAboutHisPowers stop using most of his powers]] because it was too hard to come up with ways to defeat him.

11	** The general sentiment regarding the fact that the omnibus published by Joe Books will have the first 16 issues and the two annual stories rewritten by original editor Aaron Sparrow with the last two issues being omitted. You are either okay with the changes or are quick to accuse the Joe Books collection of TheyChangedItNowItSucks. Not helped by the fact that Ian Brill and Christopher Burns don't approve their work being rewritten without their blessing, even requesting that their names be removed from the omnibus.
12	** Quackerjack's comic incarnation's new darker characterization. Some fans like it and point out this was how Tad Stones wanted the character anyway but MoralGuardians Disney shot it down. Others hate it and want the original more goofy and lighthearted Quackerjack back, arguing the creators should have realized that ship had sailed and derailing a beloved villain for WhatCouldHaveBeen was selfish and short-sighted.
13	** Which comic book run from 2010 onwards is better? Aaron Sparrow, Ian Brill or Amanda Deibert?
14	* CanonFodder: ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' has one of the largest amounts of fanfiction of a show from WesternAnimation/TheDisneyAfternoon and part of this is probably because of all the interesting concepts and ideas it brought up but then didn't always fully explain. Fanfic writers love answering questions like, 'How does the Negaverse work?', 'What was Morgana's life like growing up with her mortal hating family?' and 'What would happen if more characters crossed over from ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987''?' to name a few.

16	** [[DiabolicalMastermind Taurus Bulba]], Darkwing's smartest and most-feared adversary, is [[Recap/DarkwingDuckS1E1DarklyDawnsTheDuck introduced]] serving a 99-year sentence at a high-security prison for several crimes, including the murder of Gosalyn's grandfather. Once he breaks out and destroys the prison he was contained in, Taurus schemes to activate the Waddlemeyer Ramrod in order to destroy buildings and rob banks. To gain the code, Taurus threatens to [[WouldHurtAChild drop Gosalyn off a building]] if Darkwing didn't activate the Ramrod, remarking that she'd "make a nasty stain on the street". Once Darkwing activates the Ramrod, Taurus [[ILied drops Gosalyn anyways]], looking over it with a smug grin. When the Ramrod is damaged, Taurus grabs Darkwing so [[TakingYouWithMe they will both die in the explosion]]. [[Recap/DarkwingDuckS3E5Steerminator After he was resurrected]] as a cyborg by [[NebulousEvilOrganisation F.O.W.L.]], Taurus [[UngratefulBastard shows his gratitude]] by destroying their base and going to work on his own. Returning in the comic, Taurus secretly founds the corporation Quackwerks, creating crimebots to violently stamp out all crime, however minor, in St. Canard and leaving him the secret ruler of the city. Taurus forces his prisoners to guess the code to the Gizmoduck Suit so he can use it, and threatens to make Gosalyn his slave when she gets the suit. After Darkwing interferes, Taurus unleashes weapons on the Quackwerks HQ in order to destroy St. Canard. With no comedic quirks and with no regard for whom he hurts, Taurus Bulba was Darkwing's most feared adversary for a reason.
17	** [[ArchEnemy Negaduck]] is the [[EvilCounterpart alternate version]] of Darkwing Duck who rules the [[MirrorUniverse Negaverse]] and proves to be his ultimate evil foil. [[Recap/DarkwingDuckS1E19JustUsJusticeDucks Making his debut]] leading the Fearsome Five and conquering St. Canard, allowing the others to wreak havoc on the city. Negaduck then traps Darkwing's friends in sadistic {{deathtrap}}s and attempts to destroy the city when defeated. Negaduck would return time and time again to threaten the city with destruction and endanger the populous. Negaduck would also [[BadBoss threaten his own subordinates]] and betray them when he saw fit. Returning in the comics, Negaduck [[KickTheDog destroys Quackerjack's Mr. Banana-Brain doll]] and attacks Darkwing at his home. Teaming up with Magica De Spell, Negaduck hatched his most vile scheme: Capturing and brainwashing all of the Darkwing Ducks of the multiverse, he has them attack the citizens of St. Canard, [[FrameUp framing]] the Prime Darkwing for the attacks before unleashing all of them to destroy the city, all while planning on killing all of them after the Prime Darkwing was dead. Returning one last time, Negaduck traps Darkwing inside of St. Canard Penitentiary, giving him thirty minutes to hide before the incarcerated villains hunt him down, only to release them after twenty minutes just for fun. Negaduck then plans to release all of the villains onto St. Canard in a massive crime spree.
18	* CreepyAwesome: Paddywhack from "The Haunting of Mr. Banana Brain". How can an ancient demon-clown not be creepy and with Paddywhack's dynamic presence and terrifying sense of humor not awesome as well?
19	* DeathOfTheAuthor: Tad Stones has officially said that ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' and ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' were intended to be alternate universe stories. Some fans disregard the explanation, despite its source, arguing that, given the way the ''Darkwing Duck'' show and both shows' spin-off comics seem to reference each other, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't help that certain moments in the comics [[WriterConflictsWithCanon all but blatantly state it's a single universe.]]
20	* DesignatedHero: The dinosaur scientists in "Extinct Possibility" are meant to be Darkwing's allies for the episode, but they off-handedly imply committing genocide against humanity's prehistoric predecessors without a shred of remorse and leave Darkwing to his fate after they accidentally encase him in amber.
21	* DracoInLeatherPants: Just pick any member of the Fearsome Five (except maybe [[OutOfFocus Liquidator]]) and you'll find fans who'd love to see them redeemed and insist they're not all that bad really:
22	** Bushroot, probably because he [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds was a legitimately nice guy before his accident]], exudes GeekyTurnOn like it's pollen, and while not the ButtMonkey Megavolt is, he tends to get [[ChewToy chewed on a lot]]. To top all this off, in contrast to villains such as Taurus Bulba or Negaduck, who are after regular villainous goals like personal gain or random destruction, Bushroot's motivation is often [[IJustWantToBeLoved finding a friend or a girlfriend.]] Girls want to cuddle him and make it all better, poor guy. Interestingly enough, series creator Tad Stones actually ''agrees'' with this, as in his interview with fan site Flapping Terror, he called him "hardly a villain" and [[WordOfGod stated that left on his own he would eventually undergo a]] HeelFaceTurn.
23	** Megavolt has a few followers; he was beaten badly in high school, constantly gets beat up, and has a personality that makes you feel somewhat sorry for the guy, although he has possibly committed murder.

Even better is that the comic book where the meme originated from also has Stegron the Dinosaur Man working with Sauron, bearing reminiscent of Stegmutt working for Dr. Fossil before his HeelFaceTurn.
75	** The VillainOfTheWeek in "Extinct Possibility" is a ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' named Johnny T. Rex. The show aired only a year after ''Literature/JurassicPark'' was published, and a couple years before the [[Film/JurassicPark1993 film version]] would popularize the scientific abbreviation for ''Tyrannosaurus rex''.
76	** In "Jurassic Jumble", Darkwing turns into a dinosaur covered in feathers, which Dr. Fossil calls ridiculous. Nowadays, it's scientific consensus that many dinosaurs had feathers, as the fossil record demonstrates. Also, Darkwing shouts "I'm a dinosaur!" upon seeing his transformed state; as far as modern paleontologists are concerned, Darkwing Duck had always been a dinosaur (birds are a lineage of dinosaurs that evolved from earlier theropod dinosaurs in the Jurassic Period).
77	** In the "Crisis on Infinite Darkwings" arc of the comic, one of the alternate Darkwings is a caveman who rides on a ''T. rex''. 9 years later, [[WesternAnimation/Primal2019 there is now a cartoon that features a Neanderthal who teams up with a]] ''[[WesternAnimation/Primal2019 T. rex]]''.

He's an AttentionWhore eager to grab the spotlight and frequently buts heads with others because of his [[SmallNameBigEgo massive ego]] and [[AesopAmnesia never seems to learn his lesson]]. But he's also saved St. Canard multiple times and gets no respect for it or his other heroic deeds.
87	* MagnificentBitch: [[MadArtist Splatter Phoenix]], a [[SesquipedalianLoquaciousness comically verbose]], ostentatious artist and self-described "daringly innovative pseudo anti-neo post modern deconstructionist". Using her signature reality-warping paint in conjunction with her creative mind, Phoenix commits her crimes with a painter's flair, often coming up with imaginative ways to go about her schemes. Phoenix's best showing is in [[Recap/DarkwingDuckS2E12ABrushWithOblivion her debut episode]], where she stakes out the St. Canard Museum by hiding inside of the paintings, sneaking out to swipe the art so she can sell them for cash. When confronted by the heroes, Phoenix outmaneuvers them at every turn, nearly killing them by trapping them inside of Gosalyn's painting, and is only defeated because Honker got a paintbrush of his own to level the playing field.

Either way, the action ensured that Disney wouldn't even want work with them again. It's quite telling that when it was announced for a revival, Marvel wasn't the one in charge of it.

96	** Flarg, the leader of the evil faction of the Brainteasers. Initially, viewers saw him as a fallen alien dictator who was only interesting in leaving "that backwater planet", Earth. [[BodySnatcher He mind-controlled hosts and took control over their bodies toward that goal]]. When he realized the "primitive bipeds have nukes", he decided to [[TakeOverTheWorld take control of Earth]] before retaking his empire and ordered "a few cities atomized to give him credibility". When he's out for revenge later, he plans to destroy several star systems with a DoomsdayDevice and put the blame on Honker. When he loses, he decides he would rather destroy the entire galaxy than surrender.
97	** How about Doctor Gary and Doctor Larson, the scientists who bullied Bushroot? They were an unpleasant sort who treated him like crap, starting with [[KickTheDog playing around his potato before the former stepped on it, and then sabotaged Bushroot's experiment about people feeding on sunlight]] [[ForTheEvulz for kicks]]. What ultimately made them cross it however, was taunting him with lines such as "Reggie's a veggie!" after seeing him mutated as a half-duck, half-plant creature. This leads Bushroot to finally deciding that it would be in his best interests if they had "an accident", and [[AssholeVictim that was the end for Doctor Gary and Larson]].
98	* NarmCharm: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_WEv0vW5jE&ab_channel=MobileGameMusic "Kickin' In The Groove"]], a rap MusicVideo created to promote the show's premiere (and included on the VHS releases). It's such an unbelievably cheesy relic of the early 1990's that it's endearing. Disney would create similar music videos for ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Bonkers}}''.
99	* SugarWiki/NoProblemWithLicensedGames: [[VideoGame/DarkwingDuckCapcom The Darkwing Duck game for the NES]] was basically a short ''VideoGame/MegaMan'' clone (not surprising, considering they're made by [[Creator/{{Capcom}} the same people]]) with a couple new mechanics added. It was actually quite popular - the player review average score on Gamefaqs is about 7.8 out of 10. On the other hand, the Platform/TurboGrafx16 version (yes, there was one) completely embodies TheProblemWithLicensedGames.
100	* OlderThanTheyThink: The series has nigh-uncountable {{Shout Out}}s to superhero comics, cartoons and films, so the impressive number of tropes they did first often has to be stated:
101	** In "[[http://darkwingduck.wikia.com/wiki/Clash_Reunion Clash Reunion]]", Gosalyn discovers that [[EveryoneWentToSchoolTogether Darkwing went to school with Megavolt]] by [[PhotoDoodleRecognition drawing glasses on a photo in a yearbook]]. This episode aired November 14, 1992 was over a year before the release of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanMaskOfThePhantasm'' on Christmas Day 1993, where Batman discovers one of ComicBook/TheJoker's first aliases by drawing a smile on an old photograph.
102	** Likewise, some may assume the episode "Duck Blind" was a WholePlotReference to the Batman TAS episode "Blind As A Bat"... only the DW episode came about a year prior. (To be fair, temporarily blind heroes who have to learn how to kick ass again is a common trope. Even ComicBook/ConanTheBarbarian featured such a story in the 1980s.)
103	** The series was cancelled in 1995, which is roughly when ''Manga/SailorMoon'' was released in America, complete with "Negaverse" {{Macekre}}d for "Dark Kingdom". Hell, it might be where Macek got the term.

115	** Rhoda Dendron, in a way too. She is a major part of Bushroot's backstory and, following "Beauty and the Beet", is never seen or mentioned again.
116	** Due to the comic getting ScrewedByTheNetwork, this also applies to some comic characters, most notably [[spoiler: Quackerjack's girlfriend Claire]] and Duane, the storyteller for the "Dawn of the Day of the Return of the Living Spud" arc (who also appeared in "Night of the Living Spud") who's flat-out stated to work for the government, (presumably S.H.U.S.H. or some other secret agency).
117	** Blob and Ray, the two germs that helped Darkwing get Lilliput sick in "Getting Antsy", are never seen again after the episode. To be fair, there probably wasn't much story opportunities for them to appear. However, you'd think giant germs that helped beat a supervillain one time would be mentioned.
118	** Ham String and his girlfriend (later wife) Preena Lott are the two bullies who arranged the "accident" which mutated Megavolt. And he hates them enough to seek revenge years later. Yet they are barely depicted as characters.

120	** Two words: The Negaverse. No wonder there's so much fanfiction about it and so much hope the new comics will return there.

Given that he already has a girlfriend (who knows magic), one would think it would at least come up, even if it didn't turn into a [[ManVersusMachine Woman vs. Machine]] battle over Darkwing's affections.

126	** Gosalyn kissing Honker on the cheek when they are at the museum tracking down Stegmutt in "Jurassic Jumble".

129	* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The first issue had a mention of a character called Hanna Alaska, a clear reference to ''Series/HannahMontana''. The show was in its final season at the time of the first issue's publication, and had already finished its run when the ''Darkwing Duck'' comics were cancelled. Oddly enough, the reference was retained in the ''[[GeorgeLucasAlteredVersion Definitively Dangerous Edition]]'' despite making other changes and being released even further after ''Hannah Montana's'' run.
130	* UnintentionallySympathetic: Dark Warrior Duck. If Gosalyn hadn't disappeared, he wouldn't have became a KnightTemplar in the first place. Slightly undercut by Quiverwing Darkwing, who also lost his Gosalyn, and, rather than go nuts as Darkwarrior did, took up her Quiverwing Quack hero persona to honor her instead. He later fights [[CurbStompBattle (and quickly defeats)]] Dark Warrior Duck.
131	* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: In "[[Recap/DarkwingDuckS1E18DaysOfBlunder Days of Blunder]]", Mr. Meekles attempts to commit suicide by drowning himself.

133	** Gosalyn, very effectively, in "Darkly Dawns the Duck", while she's still an orphan that feels unwanted. In later episodes she doesn't have that problem, and characterization in general is more shallow anyway.
134	** Fenton keeps his woobiehood going since his [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987 last appearance]] when we find that, despite his seemingly endless confidence as Gizmoduck, deep down he still doesn't think he's worth anything without the suit.

136	** Bushroot, anyone? A sweet and timid scientist constantly bullied by his JerkAss colleagues then turned into a mutant half plant half duck after the funding for his research was cut and he got desperate enough to try a dangerous experiment on himself. No wonder he snapped and got his StartOfDarkness after going through all that.
