----
* CrossesTheLineTwice: "Mr. Frump in the Iron Lung" doesn't seem too funny but with the amount of {{Narm}} Al expresses, you just can't help but laugh.
* HarsherInHindsight: "Buckingham Blues" is a satire on the lives of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. While the song stopped being relevant thanks to their divorce in 1996, Al [[ExiledFromContinuity has not performed or rerecorded this song]] since the latter's death in 1997.
* HilariousInHindsight: "I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead" includes the lines "I don't want none of that vegetarian scene" and "And I'd rather have a, a Big Mac or a Jumbo Jack than all the bean sprouts in Japan". Ten years later, Al became a vegetarian.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** Al's first music video, "Ricky", has the role of Lucy played and sung by Creator/TressMacNeille at a time when she was just starting her voice acting career. [=Mac=]Neille would later appear in ''Series/TheWeirdAlShow'' and lent her voice on Al's ''Running With Scissors'' album.
** William Anderson (credited as William K. Anderson) played saxophone and harmonica on this album and would assist Al in other music productions through ''Music/PoodleHat''. Anderson would later write scores for several animated series beginning in TheEighties and compose for ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', doing so for Al's character Cheese Sandwich.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung" follows the same chord progression of the first three bars of "Music/AlicesRestaurant" by Arlo Guthrie.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece:
** The car that keeps getting impounded in "Stop Dragging My Car Around" is a '64 Plymouth. This was obviously Rule of Funny in 1983 but it applies now since they don't make Plymouths anymore.
** "The Check's in the Mail" uses business lingo that firmly places the song in TheEighties. Al even said that multiple instances of its slang would be lost on modern listeners.
** "I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead" mentions the 8 track audio format, and it wasn't done so in a nostalgic context. 8 tracks wouldn't even survive the end of TheEighties.
* ValuesDissonance:
** The line about the "Arab on the corner buying everything in sight" in "Happy Birthday" was socially acceptable in 1983. Now, it comes off as racist. It didn't stop Al from retaining the line when he rerecorded the song for the 2017 movie ''Film/HowToBeALatinLover''.
** "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung", can be considered ableist for people with polio.
