* AccidentalInnuendo:
** Koneko-chan loves mochi ice cream so much, she makes suggestive noises as she chews and is left in a daze of pleasure after finishing.
** If there are other people in the room, invite them over to watch with you. Otherwise they'll just hear Raku-chan talking and think you're watching Asian porn. This goes double for episode four.
* AlasPoorScrappy: [[spoiler:While Raku-chan has an extremely annoying voice, fans admitted feeling shocked and genuinely a little saddened by her (relatively) well-animated death scene.]]
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation:
** [[FlatCharacter Koneko-chan]] doesn't have any involvement in Raku's romance, or even any other defining characteristics. At times it seems like she is aware of her true nature, horrified at the world and show in which she lives. Other times, it seems like she is high or intoxicated, supposedly to run away from the AwfulTruth.
** Or, Raku could be mentally disabled, Koneko is friends with her out of sympathy (or legitimate friendship) and Hitoshi is being a dick and teasing her.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: The scene where [[spoiler:Raku-chan's friends from college visit her]] absolutely comes out of ''nowhere'', even by the show's standards. These characters have very strange appearances and voices and have never been mentioned before and are never mentioned again.
* BileFascination: The series has gained a large fanbase due to its SoBadItsGood nature.
%%* DesignatedLoveInterest: Hitoshi-san, for Raku.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** Hitoshi [[CharacterSong singing]] Music/{{Shakira}}'s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBD_4UnVMs4&feature=g-u-u&context=G27c21d0FUAAAAAAAAAA Hips Don't Lie.]] His SmugSnake voice is already hilarious in its own right, but that combined with near constant {{Corpsing}}, doing funny voices, and the song choice itself is comedy gold.
*** In addition to that, he kind of sounds drunk.
** Everything about Vet-sama.
** "There's freedom in this country. This is [[LastSecondWordSwap Americ-- ...Japan]]."
** "So, is she a cock dog?"
* EnsembleDarkHorse:
** Squirrel-chan/Squeaker-chan.
** The black cat that appears in the intro is also very well liked compared to the rest of the cast.
** Dolce-chan, because she didn't speak at all, and was a cut character.
** Kidnapper-kun also has his fair share of fanart over on Website/DeviantArt.
* FanNickname: In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BpZite1jNo Episode 6]] of the ''"Let's Watch!"'' series by [[https://www.youtube.com/user/Iotametroid Failsafe Productions]], the kidnapper is given the nickname Geoff. Judging by some of the comments posted on the ChristmasEpisode, it's starting to catch on.
** [[WordOfGod Yoli-chan herself]] has [[http://comments.deviantart.com/1/260924151/2255054728 acknowledged it as his fanname]].
* {{Fanon}}:
** Koneko having feelings for Raku is the most common.
** Neither girls are really cat girls.
* FanPreferredCouple: [[LesYay Raku/Koneko]], despite Raku mostly being teased with Hitoshi. Likewise for the boys, [[AMatchMadeInStockholm Hitoshi/Geoff]] was the biggest fan-preferred couple for Hitoshi over Hitoshi/Raku until [[spoiler:it became canon in the finale]].
%%* FetishRetardant: The FanDisservice mentioned on the main page, as well as how OffModel everything always is.
* FridgeBrilliance: After [[spoiler:Raku-chan's death, Bokutachi-San]] is seen acting cheerfull and happy, even [[spoiler:taunting Hitoshi-San for killing her by breaking her heart]]. It seems pretty cruel until you remember [[spoiler:Koneko and Raku previously foiled his attempts to molest Hitoshi]]. Of course he'd be happy [[spoiler:to see one of them gone]].
* GrowingTheBeard: The channel's videos released after the original series ended have smoother animation. Not significantly better, but it has noticeably improved.
* MemeticMutation:
** The terms "Downright sugoi" and "I am very arigatoful" are fairly popular among fans.
** Kidnapper-kun's actual name is Bokutachi-san, but in a reference to the ''[[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8B829A467FDCC8E6 Let's Watch!]]'', Koneko half-jokingly says that she thought his name was Geoff in the finale.
** "Nya~ ''Rawr''~"
** '''"YOU'RE NOT AN ORDINARY FELLA!"''' [[labelnote:Explanation]]The opening theme song, TRUE♥LOVE by jun feat. Schanita, is recorded straight from ''VideoGame/DanceDanceRevolution'' gameplay, with this sound effect left in.[[/labelnote]]
** "[[WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender When the world needed them the most, they returned.]]" [[note]]A common response to the show suddenly coming back from the dead to post a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXjFRE0CDU4 PSA video]] about UsefulNotes/Covid19.[[/note]]
** "Aah, hamburger sandwichとDiet Coca Cola." [[labelnote:Explanation]]A reference to a fan-made Japanese dub of the series which swaps out some of the Japanese stereotypes with American stereotypes, including replacing Hitoshi's pocky and ramune in the second episode with a hamburger and a Diet Coke.[[/labelnote]]
%%* {{Moe}}: The show is essentially a moe drama.
%%* {{Narm}}: ''Yes''. By the torukku load. Every moment that attempts to be serious comes across as hilarious due to the animation and voice acting.
* NightmareFuel:
** Raku-chan's dream sequence at the start of Episode 10. The special effects, or the lack thereof, makes it more horrifying than it should be.
** The ending song from the last chapter[[note]]An {{Engrish}} cover of "[[Music/GeorgeMichael Last Christmas]]" by George Michael [[/note]] manages to be surprisingly sinister, disregard if this was the intention or not.
* NarmCharm: [[spoiler: Raku-chan's death scene. It's blatantly goofy because she's dying of a broken heart because of Hitoshi-san's new relationship, and is just as cacophonic as she usually is. However. quite a few viewers mentioned feeling legitimately sad at seeing her die after spending so many episodes with her, Koneko-chan, and Hitoshi-san, and seeing the latter mourn their dying friend can be quite saddening. [[ArtShift It also helps that the scene is animated much better]] than the [[StylisticSuck rest of the series.]]]]
* RomanticPlotTumor: Raku-chan and Hitoshi's relationship.
** Hitoshi-san's daydreaming and possible feelings for his kidnapper/attempted rapist seem to be shaping into this.
* TheScrappy: Raku-chan, even when compared to the other characters, because of her horrifically high-pitched voice and whining.
* SignatureScene: While there are a handful of standout scenes, one of the biggest is when Raku-Chan gets bitten by a squirrel in episode 4...then proceeds to sit and cry [[SensoryAbuse loudly]] for almost [[OverlyLongGag two minutes]].
* SoBadItsGood: The series can be considered so bad that it's quite entertaining.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: The Windows Movie Maker text. Also when Raku-chan and Koneko-chan crash through a window to save Hitoshi-san.
%%* StrangledByTheRedString: Hitoshi-san and Raku-chan. [[spoiler:The finale subverts this, however.]]
* TakeThatScrappy: Raku-chan being reduced to a crying wreck over a squirrel bite starts out cathartic... and then she [[SensoryAbuse starts screaming even louder]].
* TearJerker:
** [[spoiler:Raku-chan's death's aftermath]]. Oh sure, her [[spoiler:death]] in itself is hilariously {{narm}}y, but the reactions of the other characters, and especially the [[spoiler:end theme]] are depressing as all hell.
** Hell, [[spoiler:Raku-chan's death]] was pretty tear jerking thanks to a combo of AnimationBump and [[spoiler:Raku-chan's]] voice-acting during [[spoiler:her final sayonara to Hitoshi and Koneko]] being done a LOT better in this scene.
** From the word go, episode ten was a tearjerker. After only nine episodes, the fanime that has grown on you has come to a close. This is it, the last episode, the grand finale... Then the video starts [[spoiler:and you find that the sugary and hopeful opening theme True Love has been replaced with the heart-rending love ballad Is This Love by Whitesnake...]]
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The series was very much a product of its time, with cliches and characters archetypes (such as {{Cat Girl}}s, which stopped being the primary source of animal eared girls in mainstream otaku culture towards the end of that decade) that parodied those of the anime and manga of the early 2000s, in addition to the music choices (VideoGame/DanceDanceRevolution and Music/{{NSYNC}}, for starters) referencing what was popular at the time. In fact, most of the things parodied in the series peaked years ''[[TwoDecadesBehind before]]''. This extends even to the amateurish Website/DeviantArt-style and pseudo-Japanese OccidentalOtaku internet speech the series parodies; these were already on their way out by the 2010s, but were fully replaced in their respective niches by time of the channel's 2022 posts.
* {{Wangst}}: Raku-chan is extremely whiny and emotional through much of the series, which can get very irritating.
