* AccidentalAesop:
** Although the film seems like an over-the-top-nonsense parody at first, it teaches a valuable lesson in the end. Stan learns to become nicer and a better person by showing compassion towards others and confronting his problems. The movie indirectly informs the audience that you can become a greater person by treating others with respect and accepting when you need to deal with your troubles.
** At the same time, Nadine learns to lighten up. Yay, both the protagonist and the deuteragonist learn their lesson!
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The monsters' parody of Y.M.C.A.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: A lot of the humor is very risque. Whether it succeeds in this or not WILL vary.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Nadine is the most popular character for [[{{MsFanservice}} obvious]] [[DefrostingIceQueen reasons]].
* GuiltyPleasure: To some viewers, who admit it is yet another terrible spoof film, but still like it since it is at least marginally better than some other spoof films.
* HarsherInHindsight: The Music/MichaelJackson joke comes off in bad taste when you realize that this film came out ''after his death''.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Stan and Nadine [[spoiler: getting back together in the end of the film. They hated each other so much in the beginning and they received so much character development by the end. They both become kinder people and salvage a love they thought was dead. It's probably the ''only'' truly loving moment in the entire film.]]
* HoYay:
** Stan and Teddy cuddle together while sleeping.
** Mia gropes Nadine while scared. [[NoYay Nadine is unamused.]] Though this is downlayed in Nadine's case since she's doing this out of panic due to the situation rather than sexual attraction.
* JerkassWoobie: Stan and Nadine. They're both good people deep down, but they don't want pity. [[spoiler: They become better people in the end of the movie and hook up.]]
* NoYay: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by all the characters. Although the movie gives moments between them, they do not reciprocate.
* PoorMansSubstitute: Creator/SteveHowey (Stan) and Creator/DioraBaird (Nadine) are dead ringers for Creator/AshtonKutcher and Creator/RachelBilson, respectively. Creator/DesiLydic (Mia) looks less like Creator/ChristinaApplegate, but does an uncanny impression of her voice.
* RetroactiveRecognition: Yes, the Creator/DesiLydic of this film is the same Desi Lydic who would later become a correspondent on ''Series/TheDailyShow''.
* ShallowParody: As with many modern spoof films, the film sadly relies on being this. However...
* SoBadItsGood: Some people grew on the film, finding that despite being a poor spoof film overall, it is at least more entertaining than some others such as the ones by Seltzer and Friedberg.
