* AngstWhatAngst:
** For someone who was just killed by his ArchEnemy and is now trapped in a teenage girl's mind in another world, All For One seems to be taking his predicament in his stride. [[spoiler:That's because he has a plan to take advantage of it to get back home and pull a VillainOverride]].
** While afraid, the kids that were kidnapped to be part of the governor's DeadlyGame aren't as freaking out or taking their fear and anger out on each other as much as you would expect.
* AwesomeEgo: [[EnemyWithin All For One]] is a narcissistic [[TheSociopath psychopath]] who aims to be the greatest villain of all time. However, it's not hard to see why he might believe that he is. He [[ManipulativeBastard plays people like pawns]], got into a 14-year long war with Emperor Belos nearly ruining his plans, acts as a helpful EvilMentor for Luz, and is single-handedly responsible for forcing All Might to go into retirement, albeit at the cost of his own life. [[SuperpowerLottery His incredibly useful superpower to both give and take away Quirks, and the way he passes that knowledge to Luz]]. [[spoiler:Not to mention that, he's not gonna let something like death stop his EvilPlan and get back to his home world and take over TheMultiverse]].
* BrokenBase: The story's rewrite. Many readers welcome some of the changes to the stories, like fixing some plot holes and giving some characters more screen time, like Masha, Vee, Julia, etc. However, changes weren't well received at all, most notably Luz and Camila's AdaptationalJerkass, preferring their canon selves and original story's personalities.
* CatharsisFactor:
** Watching Luz [[spoiler:kill the other teams at the Death Camp after slaughtering some of her new friends]], had many readers cheering for her.
** While this action doesn't help her HeroWithBadPublicity status, [[spoiler:Luz turning the squad of {{Dirty Cop}}s into LudicrousGibs made many readers very happy, especially the sheriff who made Luz's daily life hell by bribing the local facilities to ban her and had a SlasherSmile towards her [[NotQuiteDead supposed corpse]].]]
** Luz [[spoiler:brutally killing Jonah, the hitman that murdered Camila]], had readers cheering.
%%Any changes to the Complete Monster entries get discussed [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=16706336400A42573900 here]].
* CompleteMonster:
** S1: [[AntagonisticGovernor Governor Rodger Maxwell]], the Governor of Connecticut, takes advantage of the MassSuperEmpoweringEvent in order to try and [[FinalSolution wipe all superhumans from the map]]. Kidnapping 33 superhuman children, Maxwell has them all compete in a DeathGame where they are split into teams and are forced to kill each other. Seeing [[Characters/AllForLuzLuzNoceda Luz Noceda]]'s potential through [[Characters/MyHeroAcademiaAllForOne All For One]], Maxwell manipulates the two other teams with the promise of money to spearhead an attack on all of Luz's teammates, including Julia, getting her to snap and kill the rest of them to steal their powers so he can blow Luz up, before planning to expand his genocidal goals. Despite his arrest, Maxwell caused the deaths of 27 innocent children and is responsible for the deterioration of Luz's mental state.
** S2's "Death To Normality" arc: [[PsychoForHire Jonah Smith]] is a gigantic, sadistically violent assassin for Tyler Wittebane, known as the worst of the superhumans. [[DomesticAbuse Raping]] and [[TilMurderDoUsPart murdering]] his wife before gaining his Quirk and becoming an assassin, Jonah enjoys taunting and causing suffering to his victims before killing them. Getting orders to assassinate Camila Noceda, Jonah taunts and throws the scared woman around as he laughs at her before killing her. During a brutal battle against Luz which destroys a chunk of Gravesfield and kills countless people, Jonah has Camila's body teleported to be destroyed by Luz, [[KickTheDog making her think she killed her mother for no reason other than spite]].
** S3's "Truth, Lies, and The Inbetween": [[SmallRoleBigImpact Tamashiki Shigaraki]], All For One's father, is a disgusting man despite his short appearance. A parliament member and [[FantasticRacism devout advocate of Anti-Quirk policies]], Tamashiki took advantage of the homeless Aiya Kagurami, [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil raping her]] when she was just 16 before promptly abandoning her, [[ChildByRape as well as Rikitasu and Yoichi]], to suffer in the streets. His actions managed to even leave a sociopath like All For One [[EvenEvilHasStandards enraged]] as he tracks down and murders him without a second thought.
* CreepyAwesome:
** Luz is also this when she's under the influence of her Quirk. Even with her PsychoticSmirk and LovecraftianSuperpower moments, you can't help but cheer for her when she takes down {{Asshole Victim}}s in this state.
** Let's not forget All For One again. He's dangerously forward-thinking, always having a plan up his sleeve to carry out. Luz notes he gives her CreepyUncle vibes but is an effective EvilMentor. [[spoiler:There is no limit, All For One would go achieve his goals e.g. TakingOverTheWorld, CorruptTheCutie, VillainOverride or becoming a MultiversalConqueror]], which is only one reason why he's so scary.
* EvilIsCool:
** All For One is a DiabolicalMastermind and Luz's EvilMentor, acting as a charismatic and powerful figure towards the girl.
** Millie Ravenclaw is a member of the Emperor's Coven that averts the InformedAttribute of being an EliteMook in her fight scenes with Luz, making use of the different types of magic in her disposal.
** Sophia Humbolt the Wittebane assassin that's a BloodKnight with Gojo's powers for a Quirk and becomes the first WakeUpCallBoss to Luz.
* LesYay: While not intended to be a LoveInterest, some of the readers ship Julia (a confirmed lesbian) and Luz (who is canonically bisexual) who hit if off when they first meet [[spoiler:and Luz wants to avenge her murder]]. In the rewrite, they become an OfficialCouple.
* LoveToHate: All For One is one of the most evil villains in the entire story, being a direct cause to Luz's strife, yet he's [[TheChessmaster incredibly calculating]], managing to execute his plans with swift and utter ease, and a truly intimidating villain who intends to CorruptTheCutie on our [[TheHero protagonist]] for his own purposes.
* NeverLiveItDown: Camila's drunken verbal abuse towards Luz [[spoiler:where she wishes death on her own child and hates her while throwing awing glass at luz when she dares to call her out on her drunken behavior]] in the Chapter 2 rewrite paints her as an abusive mother and a danger towards Luz, despite the author claiming this is the first time Camila has done something violent when drunk. Many still claim this is extremely dismissive of any kids with bad home lives and is one of the main reasons the rewrite for ''Fanfic/AllForLuz'' is a BrokenBase among readers.
* ParanoiaFuel: Living inside her head, All For One is aware of everything Luz does, meaning she has no real privacy from the monstrous supervillain.
* RealismInducedHorror: This is the reason why [[EgocentricallyReligious Tyler Wittebane]], and by extension, the extremist right-wing values he holds steadfast to, are so horrifying. In stark contrast to [[EnemyWithin All For One's]] CardCarryingVillain schtick too unlikely to be encountered in real life, Wittebane's [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain bigotry]], [[ManipulativeBastard manipulation]], [[SinisterMinister position of power]], [[{{Hypocrite}} hypocrisy]], and persistent belief that [[ObliviouslyEvil he's always in the right]] is chillingly realistic. Many people like Tyler Wittebane exist in real life, and not even his own family is exempt from their prejudice. Not to mention, history has many, many examples of discrimination against minority groups like LGBT and non-whites, ranging from "mere" prejudice to [[FantasticRacism outright genocide]], abusing freedom of speech to do so without legal consequences.
** Superpowers aside, being the victim of bigotry and hate crimes, instigated by people like the Wittebane Church are something to be legitimately concerned about. The story shows in many cases that people will take extreme measures to deal with what they believe is a problem and how even a child can be a victim of it. Just ask former victims and their family members.
* {{Squick}}: The graphic descriptions of Luz's injuries can fall under this territory. [[spoiler:As well as some of her more brutal kills, too]].
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter:
** More than a few readers feel this way about Julia Wittebane, Luz's FirstFriend, being essentially StuffedIntoTheFridge when she had a bit of interesting characterisation. The potential of her deciding to take her power back, [[CallingTheOldManOut stand up to her parents]], getting in a LoveTriangle with Luz and Amity, and her exploring her connection to Emperor Belos in the Boiling Isles. All would've been interesting in the story. [[spoiler: Although this seems to be getting subverted, as her vestige has gained sentience in Luz's MentalWorld.]]
*** This is mitigated in the rewrite when [[spoiler:All For One, possessing Luz, forces Kennedy to resurrect Julia with his [[{{Biomanipulation}} Cellular Manipulation]] Quirk before [[YouOutlivedYourUsefulness disposing of him after he was no longer useful]], thus allowing Julia to have stay around more time in the story.]]
** In the rewrite Arla was heavily implied to be [[spoiler:The Governor's illegitimate daughter]] but didn't really amount to anything other than showing Maxwell is a hypocritical groomer, [[spoiler:as she gets KilledOffForReal before anyone finds out.]] Alpha Squadron finding out could've caused drama in the team with half being distrustful towards TheMedic of the team and [[TokenEvilTeammate Judy]] accusing her of being a spy for her old man. Luz would defend Arla saying she ain't responsible for her dad's crimes, (which would strike accord with Julia) and lay down the law.
** It would've been interesting for Camila to go to the Boiling Isles along with Luz, acting as her MoralityChain that hinders All For One's EvilPlan to CorruptTheCutie. [[spoiler:Instead she is KilledOffForReal halfway through the second season. It also would have been interesting for her to come back as a vestige in Luz's MentalWorld, had Luz managed to take her "Repair" Quirk back from her corpse and confront All For One.]]
** Riley, Luz's cousin, becomes a RegretfulTraitor due to her attempted assassination on her cousin Luz. It would've been interesting to see her to become TheAtoner, protecting her Aunt Camila and possibly performing a HeroicSacrifice for her RedemptionQuest. [[spoiler:Instead she is unceremoniously KilledOffForReal at Luz's hands in a fit of rage for her betrayal. Its also unlikely she'll come back as a vestige in Luz's MentalWorld either.]]
** More than a few readers wanted [[spoiler:Millie Ravenclaw, an actual [[EliteMook competent member]] of The Emperor's Coven, to survive the Battle of Gravesfield to the point of the Day of Unity, feeling that DropedABridgeOnHim was at play here.]]
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Many readers had wished that Luz's rampage at the Death Camp included confronting The Governor and possibly killing his goons with her many Quirks to avenge her friends. Instead in the original he's arrested and sentenced to life in prison [[spoiler:before he's killed in the explosion that destroys Gravesfield]], and in the rewrite [[spoiler:Jonah is the one to do him in on Tyler's orders.]]
