* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The W's significantly jazzed up "The Rumor Weed Song".
* HilariousInHindsight
** Laura and Junior mistakenly think Alfred may be a robot because he uses the word "recharge" as an analogy. [[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS3E9KrabBorgRockAByeBivalve They wouldn't be the last cartoon characters to make that mistake.]]
** The concept of antagonistic sentient rumours later drove much of the plot of {{VideoGame/Magia Record Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story}}.
** Plants being the enemy is more hilarious if you have seen ''Film/TheHappening''.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: The Rumor Weed was based on Joan Rivers and closely resembles her, aside from being a weed.
* OlderThanTheyThink: Some believe Larry-Boy using his suction cup ears as grappling hooks originated from ''The Bad Apple'' or ''The Cartoon Adventures'', but it actually originated from the end of this episode (though ''Cartoon Adventures'' expanded on it to be more Spider-Man like).
* TheUnintelligible: Dad Carrot’s voice is very hard to understand due to his voice actor's heavy Arabic accent. This made it more difficult for audiences to recognize that he was making a Power Rangers reference with the line, “I heard there are teenagers inside him that know karate!” (i.e. comparing Alfred to a Megazord).
* ValuesResonance: The age of social media has made spreading rumors and doing irreparable damage to innocent people's reputations not only easier but faster (to the point that the terms "fake news" and "cancel culture" have entered the public vernacular), a moral about the dangers of spreading rumors feels a lot more Germaine.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: As the final [=SoftImage=] episode, the producers really stepped up their game and as a result, this comes off as the single most impressive-looking classic-era [=VeggieTales=] episode by no small margin. Things that would have been unheard of in prior episodes like [[RackFocus motion blur]], DepthOfField, and IdiosyncraticWipes are used extensively, and the through-the-ground shot of Larry digging underground still looks quite impressive (especially considering the usual budget of these episodes) even today.
