* ArchiveBinge: The show ended in 2019 after 560 episodes (excluding the two predecessors, and including special episodes). Those watching on video sharing services might find it hard to stop.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** In episode 266, Maeda Ami comments that Okada Nana is so serious it's bad for her body. In mid-2016, 3 years after that episode was aired, Naachan had to take a 3-week hiatus due to stress, and later confessed that she had suffered from hypoglycemia and bulimia since late 2015.As of 2018, she is the captain of Music/STU48, placed 5th in the elections, released a photobook, and has centered a major single, so things have been going better for her.
** In episode 374, Music/NGT48's Yamaguchi Maho's palm reading indicates that she's a lewd woman prone to having affairs. Three years later in 2019, she claimed that she was assaulted in front of her apartment by several men implied to be the secret boyfriends of other NGT members, after which she criticized the management for enabling the incident by their lax enforcement of the dating ban.Her apartment floor was reserved for NGT members and should have been off-limits to non-NGT members and staff. According to one theory, the men were there because they were allegedly hanging out at their girlfriends' place and were asked to invite her to join in; Mahohon was understandably alarmed upon being approached by two unknown men and tried to call for help, which was why they freaked out and tried to subdue her. On the other hand, the management maintained that the men were there by their own accord and no other members were involved.
*** An aftermath of this incident was that the Senbatsu Election would not be held in 2019. [=AKBingo!=] was also cancelled later that year. In episode 508, which discusses the members who ranked out in the 2018 election, Kotoge of the comedy duo Viking predicted that those members would not be there in future ranked-out episodes.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight:
** In episode 211, Minegishi Minami describes herself as a "middle manager type" senior, who helps juniors build relationship with the high-profile and seemingly unapproachable seniors. Indeed, she was regarded as a mentor figure to many juniors and encouraged them to shine over the years despite her AttentionWhore persona, especially after she became captain of Team 4, and is beloved by most members and fans alike even though nobody has forgotten her infamous scandal (which ironically turned her into a very high-profile figure, although in an undesirable manner).
** In episode 370 aired in 2015, the Murayama Yuiri-Okada Nana and Mogi Shinobu-Mukaichi Mion pairs talk about their close relationships. Those bonds remain strong years later, and since 2020 the four of them run a moderately successful [=YouTube=] channel and started to become their own highly regarded brand within AKB.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** When the applications photo for the 1st generation was shown in episode 91, Kiyoto commented on Takahashi Minami's photo that she looks like "The mother of a big family". Fast forward a few years later and she was appointed as the Sōkantoku,General Manager which essentially made her the mother of Music/AKB48 Group.
** In episode 136, Shinoda Mariko conceded a point when Maeda Atsuko asks "Since i lived in a clean house, i would not let the dirty Kojima Haruna enter" in Shoujiki Shougi. Much to Kojiharu chagrin. Years later, Mariko and Kojiharu makes a video for their [=YouTube=] content, in Mariko's house no less.
** In episode 253, Takahashi Juri is struck down by Music/HKT48's Tanaka Natsumi's trash talk saying Juri has no popularity. The next year, she started becoming a regular selection for the singles, and three years later in 2016, Juri entered the elected Senbatsu and has been in it every year since until her graduation. She also achieved moderate popularity in Korea in 2018 thanks to her participation in Series/Produce48, and would graduate from AKB in 2019 to make her K-pop debut.
** The first Manga/CaseClosed live-action movie has Oguri Shun playing Kudo Shinichi. In the 2018 Halloween episodes, Oguri Yui cosplayed as Conan.
** Yahagi Moeka has said that she's friendly to Kashiwagi Yuki and other seniors because she couldn't know when they would graduate or pass away. As it turned out, Moechan graduated in 2020, while Yukirin was still on track to fulfill her promise of remaining an idol until she's 30.
** In 2020, Shimazaki Haruka tries a face-matching app on her [=YouTube=] channel which finds that the male actor she most resembles is Sakai Masato, whose titular character in Dr. Rintaro, Psychiatrist she parodied as Dr. Parutaro years earlier.
* MemeticMutation: Clips of the Iki-Sumo muchaburi, where a cooked cicada or cricket is put in a horizontal glass tube and two girls blow into opposite ends of the tube to push the bug into each other's mouths, have circulated worldwide, including on The Creator/EllenDeGeneres Show, as yet another example of Japanese game show insanity; this fact has even been acknowledged with pride in the show. They also mentioned that some media outlets misidentified the insect as a cockroach, which of course made it even Squickier than it really was (cicadas and grasshoppers are normal food in many parts of Asia).
* SeasonalRot: Due to the very nature of Music/AKB48, the cast of the show change as members join and leave the group. Many fans of the early generations find it hard to continue enjoying the show as their favorite members graduated and new ones started taking over; one fan even admitted going into depression over this. Woman Rush Hour's more Jerkass approach was also met with disapproval from some.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: After changing hosts to Woman Rush Hour, the show has more talking than games with the host directing the conversation. Some fans prefer the old segment-centric format while according to some others it's necessary for the hosts to take charge since the newer generations are more passive than their seniors. However, since 2018, they've started to bring back the old games.
* ValuesDissonance:
** Blackface has been employed a few times in earlier episodes, although when the segment is shown again years later, they remark that it is no longer acceptable even in Japan.
