Brian Curtis Hildebrand (January 21, 1962 – September 8, 1999) was an American [[ProfessionalWrestling Professional Wrestler]], referee and manager best known for his work for Wrestling/{{SMW}} and Wrestling/{{WCW}} (where he was known as Mark Curtis.) He started in the 1980s working various independents, before catching on as a referee. Sadly, he died from stomach and bowel cancer at the age of 37.

!!"The Smallest Tropes in the World":
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Applied a chokehold to a fan who had run in during the Wrestling/DeanMalenko-Wrestling/{{Psicosis}} match on the September 8, 1997 ''Wrestling/WCWMondayNitro'', until security could get the fan out of the ring.
* BigEater: According to his friend Mick Foley, Brian "could keep pace at a buffet table with the best of them. Unfortunately, his metabolism was practically superhuman, and as such, nature never let him get above a hundred and fifty pounds."
* CaptainErsatz[=/=]WritingAroundTrademarks: As [[Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles Kowabunga the Ninja Turtle]] in SMW.[[note]]Ever hear anyone mention Wrestling/JimCornette wrestling against a "ninja turtle" as a comeback to Cornette's rants about the rampant idiocy and silliness of modern wrestling? That match did indeed happen, and Hildebrand was the man in the shell. Cornette will often cite this as an example of good comedy (in this case humiliating a hated heel manager to the delight of the crowd), as opposed to bad comedy, i.e. guys doing stupid shit just for the sake of doing stupid shit to amuse their friends in the locker room[[/note]]
* EveryoneWentToSchoolTogether: He, Wrestling/MickFoley and Wrestling/ShaneDouglas all trained at Dominic [=DeNucci=]'s wrestling school in UsefulNotes/{{Pittsburgh}} at the same time.
* IgnoredExpert: He was a big advocate of Wrestling/SatoruSayama a.k.a. Tiger Mask, and one of the first American wrestlers to begin studying and trying to replicate his aerial techniques, though there were few Americans in the 80s who had the required smaller stature to pull them off.
* NoodleIncident: However it was he found himself with the nickname "Gerbil."
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: As a referee.
* RedBaron: (as Dr. Mark Curtis) "Shooter."
* SesquipedalianSmith: Inverted with his real name.
