''New Sonic Adventures'' is a series of ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' sprite comics written by [=SkSpAwN=]. Drawing on the mythology of the games, the cartoons, ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics'', and ''Anime/SonicTheHedgehogTheMovie'', they tell the story of Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, and other Freedom Fighters as they battle the evil Dr. "Eggman" Robotnik, who wants to take over Mobius and enslave the inhabitants by turning them into robots with the help of the mysterious Chaos Emeralds.

Soon things become even more complicated with the introduction of Knuckles, Guardian of the Master Emerald, the Chaotix, Mighty and Ray, the treasure hunters Nack and Rouge, Shadow, a living personification of Chaos, and Chaos itself, the personification of evil. Also appearing are Mecha-Sonic and Metal Sonic, as well as Emerl and G-merl.

!!These comics contain examples of:
* AdaptationalVillainy: Emerl is closer to the ultimate war machine Eggman wanted him to be in ''Sonic Battle'', while Rouge teams with Nack and is up to no good.
* ArtShift: The commentary on the comics lampshaded the tendency in ''Battle for the Chaos Emeralds'' to switch between Game Gear Eggman, Genesis Eggman, and GBA Eggman sprites.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: The Chaos Emeralds' radiation transforms Eggman physically as well as mentally, turning his lab coat into a villainous outfit.
* FaceHeelTurn: Eggman was originally a well-meaning, if overly-ambitious, scientist until the Chaos Emeralds' energy turned him evil.
* GrandFinale: ''Sonic Liberty'' ended with the heroes defeating Eggman and restoring Mobius to normal.
* ReCut: ''Battle for the Chaos Emeralds'' and ''The Time Stone Saga'' both got special editions that are much better visually and story-wise.
* {{Retcon}}: The original ''Battle for the Chaos Emeralds'' comic used a ''WesternAnimation/SonicUnderground'' shot of the Flying Fortress as a substitute for the Death Egg, which was replaced with the Death Egg's actual sprite in the remake.
* SpriteComic: With the exception of some screenshots from the games/cartoons or panels from the Archie comics, everything in the comic is done with sprites.
