''Level 17'' is a Website/YouTube web series written by John [=DeCaux=] and filmed by the Australian Six Foot Four Productions studio. It is set in a city which has supposedly been locked out by the powerful IOB Corp due to the disease outbreak, with the HAZMAT-suited teams sent to enforce the containment. However, it’s implied that the outbreak might not be real, but simply a cover-up in the hunt for the extraterrestrial research subjects who are loose in the city. Meanwhile, there are regular people such as the protagonist Ethan, who are just trying to survive in the suddenly hostile city.

!! This series provides examples of the following tropes:

* FlashbackEffects: Weirdly, the flashbacks shown are normal, unfiltered footage with lack of harps or special sound effects. They do retain a transition via an IdiosyncraticWipe, however.
* FutureCopter: Several of those are seen flying around the place, apparently serving as transports. One offers to provide back-up to the IOB troops at one point.
* GasMaskMooks: The IOB Corp soldiers all wear gas masks to go with their white HAZMAT suits.
* TheGreys: Aliens in question seem to check all the boxes for this body type. They do look slightly larger than usual, being almost as tall as a normal human.
* MegaCorp: The IOB Corp. In the first episode’s short 7 minutes, it is seen to possess its own news channel, an once-public park and [=TVs=]. At one point, their logo is even seen on a juice carton! No wonder they have enough power to force the city into a lockdown.
* OurWeaponsWillBeBoxyInTheFuture: Downplayed with IOB assault rifles, which have a more square frame than usual, but still retain regular magazines and folding grips. However, the pistol Ethan discovers perfectly fits the trope.
* ScheduleSlip: The first 7-minute long episode has been published in August 2013. The second was released in January 2014. There’s still no sign of a third one.
* TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture: The story is apparently set in the unspecified near future, which is much like our current one, except for one thing – the IOB, and their futuristic flying craft.
%%* {{Understatement}}: ''That didn't went well." - said by a scientist (credited as Doctor A
* WhyDontYaJustShootHim: IOB soldiers seem to want it both ways. When first sighting Ethan, they run after him instead of threatening him with guns, then, when he threatens to go out of sight, they fire a few loose bullets, then continue chasing him.
