* CreatorThumbprint: Aunt Patty is a character name that is featured in most of Thomas Sanders' works, to refer to different characters related to Thomas' main characters one way or another. Roleslaying with Roman also features an aunt Patty, which actually has the biggest role so far in any of Sanders' shows, being an essential character who gives Roman the family sword that allows him to prove to his father that he's ready to wield it and live adventures outside of Reston.
* DeepImmersionGaming: Scenes of the actual tabletop gameplay are combined with live-action, animatic and animated recreations of scenes from the game.
* EnsembleDarkHorse: The goat character, was first introduced as a background character, but soon it was given some weird quirks and inexplicable traits that hyped the mystery around it, to a point it became one of the favorite characters in the series.
* MediumBlending: The story is told through a live-action [[TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons DnD]] session in front of a table combined with scenes acted on location in live-action, scenes portrayed through animatics and some animated scenes.
* SpinOff: Subverted. It was initially promoted as a spin-off starring Roman from ''WebVideo/SandersSides''. However, the introduction in the first episode already warns that they're different characters with a different personality and different backstory, even though Roman of Reston is clearly inspired by Roman Sanders. Later on, different characters inspired by the other Sides but independent of them too have been appearing, so far Janus as a vendor of potions and Patton in his frog form as Lilypadton.
