[[WMG:Chip will be conflicted about Dale's CGI treatment]]
He'll try to respect his friend's decision to become CGI, but he'll eventually snap and say he looks ugly, which will be the film's emotional low point.
* Jossed. It doesn't really bother Chip.
[[WMG:The voice actresses for [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic the Mane Six]] will reprise their roles]]
During their appearance, the Mane Six will have a few brief lines that are remarks about how they had a popular TV show as well.
* Jossed. They don't speak at all.

[[WMG:Gadget is the BigBad]]
Yes, this seems completely nuts, but there are two clues that point towards this being possible.
# Gadget is ''nowhere'' in the trailer outside of a flashback. Why would Disney not include one of the biggest stars from the show? Maybe all of her clips are spoilers?
# The reason Chip and Dale get back together is because one of their old co-stars is missing. Considering how much the two cared for Gadget, her being missing would be a major reason for them to set aside their differences to help find her.
* OR maybe Zipper will be the one who turns bad, perhaps out of jealousy for the chipmunks.
* Or it will be Clarice, who's pissed at Chip and Dale for forgetting she existed and decides to get revenge by kidnapping Gadget and replacing her.
* Jossed. An older and wash-up Peter Pan is the BigBad that goes by the name "Sweet Pete".

[[WMG:This movie will NOT suck and is closer to the cartoon than [[NeverTrustATrailer the trailer suggests]].]]
Despite its unusual aesthetic, the movie will remain true to the spirit of the original show as it follows Chip and Dale as they set off on a new adventure with their old friends. There will also be many references to certain episodes as well as Chip and Dale's storied history scattered throughout the movie. In short, the movie will serve as a tribute to the show and its impact on pop culture.

You know what? CONFIRMED! The film, while self-depreciating and tongue-in-cheek, still shows a lot of affection and even respect for its source, and is indeed a mystery-adventure worthy of the series.

[[WMG:The [[Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020 2020 live-action version of Sonic]] will appear.]]
And he will be voiced by Ben Schwartz, making a remark about how things have been going with his franchise in recent years. There also be a comment on how Sonic's been doing so well since he got a "facelift", referencing how he was redesigned after the infamous 2019 trailer.
* Semi-Jossed, although it came close... it's actually his "[[UnintentionalUncannyValley ugly]]" and discarded design from the 2019 trailer who appears, and voiced by Creator/TimRobinson, not Schwartz.

[[WMG:There will be a joke made about Chip and Dale's voices.]]
Someone will comment on how they don't sound the way they did on the show, and either one of them will comment about how their voices were the result of heavy editing.
* Alternatively, the voices were recorded live in filming, and they were possible because the chipmunks were much younger at the time when the episodes were filmed.
** Semi Confirmed/Semi Jossed. The second trailer reveals their squeaky voices were merely voices they used for the show and isn't treated as a joke.

[[WMG:Potential cameos]]
With the trailer showing that the film is going for a [[Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit Roger Rabbit]]-style of crossover, that leaves the room open for potential franchises to be referenced here:

[[WMG:The BigBad will be Fat Cat.]]
He has kidnapped one of the co-stars (possibly Gadget) and is driven by jealousy that the Rescue Rangers got all the attention over the years.
* Jossed. Fat Cat has no role outside the show. The main villain is a older, washed-up Peter Pan that goes by the name "Sweet Pete".

[[WMG:Possiblities of a relationship to Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit]]
# It's a SpiritualSuccessor of sorts, set in the same universe as the original film.
# The original Roger Rabbit film was also a film within this Universe, so the AnimatedActors were playing AnimatedActors and/or themselves.
* Possible confirmation for option 1? Roger himself makes a cameo and Jessica is mentioned by name, which could work for either option, but at one point a small bottle of Dip can be seen among Sweet Pete's collection of torture implements, which could imply the first option since it was stated to have been created by Judge Doom in-universe. Nothing is explicitly stated, but it's heavily implied it takes place in the same universe, just several decades later. However, the second option is a possibility as well.

[[WMG:Fat Cat will be an AdaptationalNiceGuy in the movie.]]
Some actors playing villains on TV are [[MeanCharacterNiceActor pretty nice people]]. That said, the real life Fat Cat in the movie is actually a chilled guy who is friends with Chip and Dale, having enjoyed working with them on the show.
Jossed. Fat Cat has no role outside the show.

[[WMG:Gadget will be an AdaptationalJerkass in the movie.]]
Just as some actors who play villains are nice guys, there are also some actors who aren't as nice, even if they play heroes. As a result, Gadget's real life personality will be similar to her evil doppelganger Lahwhinie from the 80s TV show. She will be conceited and egotistical, and would feel jealous of the attention that Chip and Dale have gotten both on and off the show set.
* Jossed. She's the same sweet character she was in the show.

[[WMG:The one behind the disappearance will turn out to be Norton Nimnul, but not out of malice or any grudge.]]
In fact, it turns out he was actually one of the show's script-writers and took great genuine enjoyment in writing for the show, both the work on and off camera as he got to ham it up in his "villain role" while filming. However, he also feel that the show ended ''too soon'' and cut off the happy ending he had in mind for the Rescue Rangers that would have made them better as people even when the cameras stopped rolling after the proper end. Upon cutting it short, the lesson was left unlearned, and the Rescue Rangers fell into disarray and dismay afterwards. Norton, realizing that he ''needs'' to "finish the show properly", dedicates the next thirty years to gather the funding, resources and crew, needed to make the "final episode" properly in order to save the Rescue Rangers from themselves and teach them the lesson he intended to teach them all those decades ago, but for REAL, with no cameras recording anymore. Gadget, having seen firsthand how bad it all went for the others and herself, volunteers to help Norton with his plan due to being the one who ''actually'' did all the work on the invention Norton used as props "in-show" and the maintenance on the equipment off-camera. Norton himself only doing his part in the acting and the script-writing and funding to, as a sign of his love for the original show, give the Rescue Rangers the "ending they truly deserved" before his own curtain falls for the final time...
* Jossed.

[[WMG:The film will contain a reference to the Russian cult that worships Gadget.]]
* Jossed.

[[WMG:Kit Colby will be the BigBad]]
Kit Colby was to be the original main character of this series before it was retooled to feature Chip and Dale. Seeing how meta this movie is, InUniverse Colby was going to be the star of ''Rescue Rangers'' before being sacked for some reason, and wants his revenge on Chip and Dale for "stealing" his show from him.
* Jossed.

[[WMG:Chip n' Dale will mention their past roles in the classic Donald Duck shorts]]
They will talk about the time they worked with Donald Duck in the 1940s and how their getting the ''Rescue Rangers'' show turned out to be their "big break" thanks to all the attention they got both during and after the show's run.
* Mostly Jossed; while there are possibly a couple of references to the older shorts in the room full of souvenirs, Chip and Dale are confirmed via flashback to have met in 1982 as children.

[[WMG:The real life Gadget has romantic feelings for one of the chipmunks]]
Throughout the old show there were WillTheyOrWontThey moments with Chip, Dale, and Gadget. For the first time in history, we will see one of the chipmunks (possible Chip) share a kiss with her near the end of the movie.
* Josssed. Gadget is HappilyMarried with Zipper and ended up with 42 children.

[[WMG:There will be references and homages to the NES video game]]
For example, Dale or Chip will throw a red ball at a villain like they do in the boss levels.
* Jossed, although both NES video games are ''in'' the movie as merch and gameplay can be seen in the background.

[[WMG:The events of the film will tie into VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIV OR lead into a Kingdom Hearts movie]]
Sora's keyblade can be spotted in a shot of the [[https://youtu.be/F4Z0GHWHe60 new trailer]].
* Assuming Sora isn't an [[AnimatedActors animated actor]] in the film's universe, the plot could tie into his imprisonment in Quadratum.
* Alternatively, a live action adaptation of the games could be teased in TheStinger.
* Jossed. The only Kingdom Hearts nods are in that very scene, where we also see another bag containing Sora's hair. [[FridgeHorror Implying he's been bootlegged]].

[[WMG:Fat Cat has a daughter]]
If you look closely in one of the TV Spots, there is a female kitten in a robot body that looks like Fat Cat. Maybe something happened to Fat Cat (possibly depression and suicide) and his daughter wants revenge against the Rangers.
* Jossed. It's Sweet Pete with Felicia's head after he was blasted by modification machine.

[[WMG: Sweet Pete has been working for [[WesternAnimation/VillainousCartoonNetwork Black Hat]] This whole time.]]
* Jossed.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Post-Release]]
[[WMG: Sweet Pete has a (bastard?) son whom he has a strained relationship with.]]
And said son went on to sign for Disney himself, star in ''WesternAnimation/ReturnToNeverLand'', and have a much better relationship with the studio than his dad did, going on to appear in other pieces of Disney media throughout the 2000s, such as ''WesternAnimation/HouseOfMouse''. He was most likely replaced later in life as well (given that the Peter Pan seen in ''WesternAnimation/JakeAndTheNeverlandPirates'' has a different voice actor), but chose to retire of his own accord, rather than being unceremoniously fired like Sweet Pete was.

[[WMG: Randy's cameo is meant to show that Disney holds no Ill-Will towards South Park.]]
Randy's cameo is one of the most surprising, even though it's only there for like a second. Not just because it's a South Park character but a character who once '''brutally murdered Winnie the Pooh'''. It's meant to be a subtle way of saying "Yeah, we're cool" despite such an episode...

[[WMG: [[WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb Linda]] is the TokenGoodTeammate of Main Street.]]
Dale never specifically says that she's involved in any criminal activity; it's possible that she just genuinely wants to sell baked goods to people, and, being the oblivious woman that she is, is unaware of the crooked dealings of her fellow {{Toon}} tradesmen.
** I'm not sure this theory belongs here... It's a reasonable guess. However, Linda on the show is oblivious and it's unknown if the real version is or not.

[[WMG: In the InUniverse of the movie, the Alien from ''Film/{{Alien}}'' is an MeanCharacterNiceActor.]]
Surely within the universe of this movie, the Alien from ''Film/{{Alien}}'' is a [[MeanCharacterNiceActor nice guy and a nice actor when he's not playing the scary alien monster]]. Surely he got along very well off-camera with the human cast of ''Alien''. Even the other xenomorphs in the ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' franchise are nice actors when they're not playing villains.
** This also applies to other famous vilians as well.

[[WMG: Video game characters also exist in this universe.]]
Since Sora's Keyblade and hair can be seen on Pete's wall of character parts, it's not too much of a stretch to guess that others exist as well.
* We briefly see Chun-Li's name on a star on the Walk of Fame, so this may be correct.
* Ugly Sonic specifically mentions that going fast is "Sonic's thing", and you can't have him without the original Sonic.
* Since we can see Wreck-it Ralph's arm on Sweet Pete's match-up body, in a way the games feature in Wreck-it Ralph (even animated-only like Sugar Rush and Cy-bug Sector) as well its sequel with mobile games are very much canon to say the least. Not sure how Indies works in there though.

[[WMG: Pete (Mickey's rival, not Sweet Pete) was working in the bootleg movies willingly]]

He looks the same as he always did (though in costume), not altered crazily like the other bootlegged toons. Maybe like Dale, he was looking to revive his career, and Sweet Pete offered him a chance to star in his "movies."

[[WMG: DJ Herzogenaurach will become famous in the world of music and rap thanks to Chip and Dale.]]
It is possible that DJ Herzogenaurach after having an AscendedFanboy at the credits scene of the movie, he will becomes famous both in the world of music and as rap, thanks to Chip and Dale, since in the credits scene, he's seen doing a cover of the Rescue Rangers theme alongside them.

[[WMG: The WhamShot is also a TakeThat, and a political one]]
Although bootlegging is only nebulously referred to as "overseas", but where does the most infamous bootleg merch and animation come from? China. While Sweet Pete is doing it in the US, what character do they run across when discovering it? A creepily humanoid bootleg ''Franchise/WinnieThePooh''. Winnie, of course, has been partially BannedInChina after memesters made him into a caricature of Chinese president Xi Jinping.

[[WMG: Bjornson is a [[Film/TheMuppets2011 Moopet]].]]
They were already knock-offs to begin with.

[[WMG: Willing actors aren't bootlegged.]]
The film claims it's done to bypass copyright laws, but this is contradicted when we see Pete (who seems to be a willing actor) hasn't been altered. It could be sticking him in a Prince Ali castume was enough to make him legally different, but if that's the case, why not just make the other toons wear different outfits?
Simple, because he only do this to unwilling actors.
* Pete's copyright in RealLife expired in 2021. [[LikeRealityUnlessNoted It's probable that his copyright expired in 2021]] InUniverse too.

[[WMG: In this reality's version of ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021'', [[AlternateSelf the different variants]] of the same person that appear in multiple episodes are InUniverse ActingForTwo.]]
Including Vision as Infinity Ultron and Zolatron, at least when it comes to physical portrayal.

[[WMG: In this reality's version of ''Franchise/ToyStory'', all the Buzzes (except for the ones from ''WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommand'' and ''Lightyear'' are InUniverse just [[ActingForTwo a single Buzz]].]]

[[WMG:The gang will become real life Rescue Rangers.]]
Not only Chip and Dale will become detectives like their fictional characters, but they will take on the name Rescue Rangers and become heroes in the real world. Since their show is long cancelled, they will spend the rest of their days fighting crime, solving mysteries, and helping both toons and humans alike.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Sequel Theories]]

[[WMG: [[WesternAnimation/VillainousCartoonNetwork Black Hat]] will be the GreaterScopeVillain in the sequel.]]

[[WMG: Possible ideas on who will be the BigBad of the sequel]]
Since there are possibilities of there being a sequel, there can be some possibilities of who will be the BigBad of the sequel.

* A grown Charlie Brown
* [[WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfPaddyThePelican Paddy the Pelican]]. Unlike Sweet Pete, who had [[CryForTheDevil a sympathetic backstory fueling his criminal actions]], Paddy is a CardCarryingVillain who wants revenge on every toon for being more popular than him through wanton acts of terrorism while abusing his public domain status to do whatever he wants. Paddy will have a special hatred for cartoons of the 21st century [[DeliberateValuesDissonance born primarily out of prejudice]] and a belief that he's [[MoralGuardians saving the children from them]], even though kids have no idea who he is.
* A jaded Snow White who became resentful over her lack of a sequel, though considering the controversy associated with their treatment of Peter Pan in light of Bobby Driscoll's tragic life, as well as Disney's treatment of Creator/AdrianaCaselotti, this might be a stretch.
* Jar Jar Binks. He was originally planned to be in the first movie but ultimately got replaced with Ugly Sonic. Bitter that his one shot at public redemption was taken from him, along with being excluded from the ''Franchise/StarWars'' resurgence and tired of being viewed as nothing more than a joke, Jar Jar will seek revenge on Ugly Sonic and/or other Star Wars characters.
** Perhaps he could appear as the meme version of himself - Darth Jar Jar. Also, are you expecting the sequel to say the original movie is just a movie InUniverse?
** Jar Jar was cast to be in ''another movie'' InUniverse but was replaced by Ugly Sonic, at which point he decides to join the dark side.
* A group of characters resembling the ones from the films made by Creator/Video Brinquedo who become [[StartOfDarkness bad]] after the movies they starred recieved poor ratings.
* WesternAnimation/{{Doki}}, In a way, it could be interesting since Doki has very much been forgotten in real life, taking his spot as Discovery Kids's mascot to a nobody thanks to the Popularity of Peppa Pig, plus he could be a separated Dragon for Sweet Pete, becoming it's own main antagonist since Pete's slip up and being kinda like the boss of a cartel in Latin America, probably trying to take over Discovery Kids' headquarters to make it how it was before too many changes were done. It could also served as a way to show localization and how cartoons and shows can be aired/distribuited in specific countries as a plot point in that too.
* The Big Bad may not be other than the infamous Bubsy! Becoming a villain after his videogame, ''Bubsy 3D'', became known as one of the worst games ever made, causing him to quit the videogame industry for a long time. Devastated for his failure, he would not only make bootleg films but also bootleg media such as bootleg videogames, bootleg comics, etc so that he would finally shine once.
* Darkwing Duck, Since he could be teaming up with his allies and RoguesGallery.
* Fat Cat, since he wants revenge on the Rescue Rangers, since he was driven by jealousy that the Rescue Rangers got all the attention over the years.

[[WMG: Ugly Sonic returns]]
This time he will cross paths with another actor who played Sonic or the actual modern Sonic, thus bringing video game characters into the mix. And of course WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph might be involved.

[[WMG: Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny will appear together in decades]]
Since ''Who Framed Roger Rabbit'', Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny meet together for a second time.

[[WMG: The Mane Six return in the sequel with a speaking cameo, joined by Spike and the Mane Five from G5]]
The Mane Six could possibly make a brief speaking cameo with Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Andrea Libman, and Tabitha St. Germain reprising their roles. Spike, with Cathy Weseluck reprising her role, is included, and they could meet the Mane Five from the fifth generation.
* This would also be the first time Spike is included. He did not cameo in the first film.
* They could appear in more than one scene up to three scenes like Numbuh 3 did in Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure.

[[WMG: Chip and Dale will learn new words]]
Chip and Dale can learn new words that ponies use in Equestria.
* Twilight can explain the definition of the word "Alicorn" if they say that she's a unicorn.
* They can also explain the definition of "cutie mark" if they confuse them as tattoos.
* Explaining Equestria wouldn't relate to the plot, like how C-3PO never explains Tattooine on Sesame Street.

[[WMG: Cheese Sandwich makes a singing cameo]]
Cheese Sandwich cameos singing, with "Weird Al" Yankovic reprising his role.
* Cheese could sing a polka-style medley of Disney covers, one of Yankovic's hits depending on the scene he's in, or a parody of a Disney song.
* Bronies might not like it if Cheese was voiced by Daniel Radcliffe, who played Weird Al in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. Cheese wouldn't sound like him in the show.
