''[[https://gamebanana.com/mods/44214 VS Whitty]]'' (more specifically ''VS Whitty Full Week Edition'') is a ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin'' GameMod created by [[https://twitter.com/animated_nathan?s=09 [=NateAnim8=]]], [[https://twitter.com/KadeDeveloper?s=09 [=KadeDev=]]], and [[https://instagram.com/sock.clip?igshid=13dwgglvbrbku [=SockClip=]]]. The mod, once starting as just a single original level, evolved into an entire three-song in-game Week developed by the trio.

This Week stars [=SockClip=]'s titular original character, Whitmore (Whitty, for short), a LeanAndMean, hoodie-wearing, short-tempered, hot-headed, [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot anthropomorphic-bomb-man-robot-guy]] who also happens to be an ex-rockstar, just like Daddy Dearest. Apparently he had some bad blood with Ol' Red Eyes and nowadays would just rather be left alone, a comfort soon taken away from him when Boyfriend and Girlfriend catch him in a back alley and decide to [[AdaptationalJerkass antagonize him]] [[ForTheEvulz ...for no particular reason]]. They're in for a surprise, however, as Whitty's got a bit of a [[{{Pun}} short fuse]], and if they really wanna push his buttons... well, he'll just have to show them how much of a warhead he can be...

The mod had a full week completed, and additional content ''was'' in development for a bit, until controversy and harassment with the parties involved caused [=SockClip=] to indefinitely ceased development of the mod, with the mod itself being removed from [=GameBanana=] shortly afterward.

The same day as the removal of ''VS Whitty'', ''[[https://gamebanana.com/mods/307107 The Date Week]]'', a week intended for the expansion, was released as a separate mod. Created by the creator of ''VideoGame/VsCarol'', it cemented Carol and Whitty as an OfficialCouple, and was repurposed as the GrandFinale for Whitty as a character…[[HesBack or so it would seem]].

On the first of February 2022, an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4QnpMCmfxU official trailer]] for ''[[https://gamebanana.com/mods/354884 V.S. Whitty: The Definitive Edition]]'' was released by Nate, confirming the character's official return and re-release. The mod features a full port of the original to the Psych Engine, plus new visual effects and a redone version of "Ballistic". Additional content for the mod would later be released on February 15, 2022, with new "high quality" versions of in-game tracks made by parody music collective Music/SiIvaGunner.

!!"Well, how bout you go list some tropes in a ditch instead?":
* AdaptationalJerkass: [[ZigZaggingTrope Zig-zagged]]: Boyfriend seems to be the one starting the conflict this time, with the opening cutscene showing him actively picking a fight with his opponent. Whitty just wants to be left alone and only sings just to make Boyfriend go away. However, Boyfriend speaking in his usual beep boops and Girlfriend being completely silent leaves ambiguity if they were actually trying to aggravate him or if they just wanted a nice battle and were too stupid to realize Whitty didn't want anything to do with them.
* AdaptedOut: Due to Sock.clip's wishes to separate Updike from Whitty, the former and his song "Remorse" are missing from the Definitive edition.
* AmbiguousSituation: With how little dialogue and context we are given in the very brief cutscenes, it's a bit difficult to piece together the story and who provoked who. The only concrete thing given is that Whitty at least knows of the Boyfriend and Girlfriend, as he goes "Oh, you two." upon seeing them.
* ApocalypseMaiden: [[spoiler:Whitty was originally created to be a doomsday device, with this ability leaking out during the cutscene before "Ballistic" where he breaks reality behind him. It also features in the failure animation in the Date Night songs, where failing causes Whitty to wipe out a city block by exploding.]]
* ArtificialHuman: Whitty is a lab-grown genetic mashup of 20% Human, 80% [[RiddleForTheAges Other]].
* BaitAndSwitch: As "Low Rise" and "Underground" are variants of "Lo-Fight" and "Overhead", one would assume that Julian's third song, "Hungry", would be an even harder variant of "Ballistic". It is actually a short, chill song that doesn't take itself seriously at all.
* BlandNameProduct: During "Hungry", Boyfriend works at an off-brand [=McDonalds=], with his uniform even having a golden "W" rather than an "M".
* BlatantLies: During the credits for the Date Week, the credits say that [[WebAnimation/MadnessCombat Tricky]] [[VideoGame/TheTrickyMod the Clown]] is from [[FandomEnragingMisconception Friday Night Funkin']]. [[invoked]]
%%* BoomerangBigot: Subverted with [[spoiler: Updike.]] See HunterOfHisOwnKind below.
* BurgerFool: Boyfriend in "Hungry" appears dressed in a [[BlandNameProduct "WcDonald's"]] employee uniform and with a bored expression (except when he's singing), evoking this trope.
* TheCameo: There's a whole heaping lot of them[[labelnote:*]]A whopping ''73 cameos''[[/labelnote]] in the ''Date Week'' mod, most of them appearing either in the background or foreground. And these include but are definitely not limited to:
** [[VideoGame/WiiFunkin Matt]], [[VideoGame/VsShaggy Shaggy]] [[Franchise/ScoobyDoo Rogers]] and [[https://fridaynightfunking.fandom.com/wiki/Tree Tree]].
** [[VideoGame/MidFightMasses Sarvente and Ruv]] standing beside each other.
** [[VideoGame/MidFightMasses Selever]] flipping off [[VideoGame/VsSunday Sunday]] while she glares at him pissed off and rolling up her sleeve.
** WebAnimation/{{ENA}} also appears during the credits, using the design from rubypanda's "Ena over BF" mod.
** Tabi with [[https://fridaynightfunking.fandom.com/wiki/Fun_Sized_Whitty Fun-sized Whitty]] behind him.
* CartoonBomb: Whitty's head, of the sphere-with-a-fuse variety. His icon at the bottom of the screen makes it more obvious.
* TheCoatsAreOff: Julian takes his hoodie off and chucks it offscreen halfway into "Underground", signifying the beat drop and an increase in difficulty.
* ContinuityCavalcade: The Date Week is this and ''then some''. Almost every major mod is present in some way, shape or form, [[TheBusCameBack including fellow temporarily-deleted mod]] [[VideoGame/VsSky Sky]] in the credits, as well as all non-Senpai/[[spoiler:Spirit]] characters from the base game. In the cases of mods not done by either the Whitty team or bbpanzu, this doubles as a ShoutOut.
* CoverVersion: "Hungry" is a cover of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeMEjkwo2D8 Ballin]]" by Roddy Rich, sung by a tired and hungry Julian wanting food from [=McDonalds=] and an absolutely done Boyfriend who is working there for some reason.
* CrushBlush: Carol gets heavier blush from time to time in "Date Night", usually during harmonies with Whitty. Survive long enough into the song, and Whitty will blush himself as he gets more comfortable during the date.
* DemotedToExtra: Boyfriend, usually the protagonist of most mods, settles for a few cameos in the credits in the Date Week.
* DissonantSerenity: Zigzagged for the original version of the mod: during "Ballistic", Girlfriend becomes actually ''scared'', shaking in fear as Boyfriend fights the enraged Whitty. However, during [[spoiler:"Remorse", she is captured and cuffed with her hands behind her kneeling in the facility]] and yet she still bobs her head around smiling during the song. PlayedStraight in the Definitive Edition, where Girlfriend continues to happily bob even as Whitty has his explosive breakdown.
* EvilSoundsDeep: [[spoiler:Updike, the mysterious cloud-headed assassin hunting down Whitty, has a very deep singing voice in "Remorse".]]
* EyebrowWaggle: Boyfriend's eyebrows rise up and down as part of his right pose during "Faucet". Holding the note when he's not singing will continue the animation for a period of time.
* FlippingTheBird: [[spoiler:Nitty Gritty's down pose has him pull his hand out of his hoodie and use it to flip off the player.]]
* HeroicRROD: [[spoiler:Whitty explodes from the stress of screwing up his date when you fail a song in the "Date Night" week.]]
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: The most notable thing about Whitty and Carol during the "Date Night" week is their height difference: Carol is around Girlfriend's height, while Whitty is twice her size and has to heavily slouch to fit into his chair during each of their dates.
* HunterOfHisOwnKind: [[spoiler:Updike is a man with a cloud for a head, and the head of a taskforce that specialises in hunting "monsters" (any creature that isn't human), which is why he's hunting Whitty, and also why Girlfriend is handcuffed when Boyfriend faces off with him. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]], because Updike himself is fully human, despite looking like an anthropomorphic cloud-man.]]
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Considering that both Boyfriend and Girlfriend are unintentionally getting themselves into trouble, it's possible Boyfriend didn't realize he was unwelcome and simply tried to ask someone famous he recognized to battle, not taking the hint when Whitty asks to be left alone.
* KnightTemplar: [[spoiler:Updike insists that hunting Whitty and handcuffing Girlfriend are for the greater good, even though neither of them mean harm to anyone.]]
%%* LeanAndMean: Whitty is about thrice Boyfriend's height and is most definitely someone that you don't want to piss off. Subverted during the Date Week, where he's considerably kinder.
* LighterAndSofter: The Date Week as a whole is this to Whitty's original week, as [[ItsAWonderfulFailure unless you lose]], this time [[spoiler:there's no threat of him exploding like back in "Ballistic"]]. He's also much happier with Carol than with Boyfriend. The closest thing to danger is during [[spoiler:"Heartbass", when Updike is about to open fire at Carol and Whitty... but he gets blocked by the crowd before he can take the shot.]]
* LimpAndLivid: [[spoiler: Whitty adopts this pose after he goes ballistic. His poses in this state make him look like he's being violently jerked around like a puppet by its strings, and by this point he practically ''screams'' his verses. For good measure, ''his fuse also lights up''.]]
* MeaningfulName: The song titled "Ballistic" is named after Whitty, well, going ''ballistic'' and relentlessly slinging notes at you.
* MusicalNod: The Date Week has a few to "Overhead", "Lo-Fight" and "Carol Roll" in "Whitroll", a brief mashup/nod of the latter two about a third of the way into "Perfume," and to "Ballistic" in "Heartbass".
* MultipleEndings: In the Date Week, determined by your choice of difficulty at the start. [[spoiler:Completing the week on Easy or Normal simply has the two happy about the date, but Whitty has to leave... forever. Completing the week on Hard, however, gives a full credits sequence, set to a backdrop of Carol and Whitty interacting with several mod and base game characters]].
* MythologyGag: In "Hungry", one of the meals listed above Boyfriend is the "salad and sex combo", referencing one of the shops in Week 5 of the original game that was literally just called "Salads and Sex".
* NonHumanHead:
** Whitty explicitly has a CartoonBomb for a head, complete with fuse. White it is representative of his temper, Whitty is ''literally'' a walking bomb, and is fully capable of exploding.
** Updike is a man with a cloud for a head, though he's apparently actually human.
* NoodleIncident: One of the various scenes shown in the credits of the Date Week is Whitty and Carol fighting Tricky in Nevada as Sunday stands on Girlfriend's speakers, going wild with some shotguns. There is no other context given to this event.
* OddballDoppelganger: Julian's design, songs, and mannerisms were intentionally meant to mirror Whitty, but not completely: Julian is a normal human, and his poses over the course of "Underground" and "Low Rise" depict him as much more relaxed and getting way more into it as the songs progress, the complete opposite of Whitty. In addition, the two songs are remixes of "Overhead" and "Lo-Fight", respectively, with the titles intentionally meant to evoke the titles of those songs: the order in the song list is "Underground" first and then "Low Rise", the reverse of Whitty's week. The colors of Julian's clothes were also taken from "Ballistic" Whitty rather than normal Whitty.
%%* OhCrap: Boyfriends reaction to [[spoiler:Whitty going ballistic]] in the ''Definitive Edition''. It even sounds like the trope is being quoted in Boyfriend's SpeakingSimlish speech.
%%-->'''Boyfriend:''' Poh brap
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler:When Whitty hits the RageBreakingPoint, Girlfriend ends up shaking with a look of fear on her face for the rest of the section. At this point, she realized how much danger they're both in, compared to other times when Boyfriend faced off against an otherwise similarly dangerous foe]]. In ''Definitive'', she's back to being constantly oblivious, as she canonically would. Boyfriend does briefly get worried, but is back to his usual smirk during the song proper.
* OrwellianRetcon: Rather than shaking in fear like the original, ''Definitive Edition'' has Girlfriend be indifferent to Whitty going ballistic to better fit her character.
* ProductionThrowback: The sections of "Heartbass" in the Date Week that borrow melody from "Ballistic" use charting that harkens back to the original version of the base Whitty week, which was heavy with jacks (sequences where one would have to "jackhammer" on the same button) as opposed to the more stair-formation focused charting of the revised "Ballistic".
* PromotedToPlayable: Whitmore himself becomes the playable character during the Date Week.
* PlayingWithFire: Downplayed; During the opening cutscene, Whitty disposes of the Daddy Dearest poster he rips apart by burning both halves into nothing immediately after dropping them, but he never actually lights anything else on fire after that.
* RageBreakingPoint: [[spoiler:Whitty reaches this right before starting "Ballistic", shaking violently before ''crushing his mic like a soda can'', tossing it to the ground and unleashing one hell of a [[SkywardScream Skyward]] MetalScream.]]
* RealityWarper: [[spoiler:For the third song, "Ballistic", Whitty gets so mad that his anger ''splits reality in half'', distorting his side with pulsating shapes most likely seen through the eyes of a madman.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: ZigZagged - In game, Whitty is very hotheaded and short-tempered and sings with a powerful voice, fitting for a humanoid bomb; while BF is calm and collected and sings softly. In lore, Whitty is fairly timid and easily stressed from [[spoiler: constantly being hunted by Updike and The Greater Good]], while BF is a cocksure moron who performs to impress Girlfriend, oblivious to any and all peril they're in. This is best seen in "Date Night" songs, where contrasting with Boyfriend's bravado in wooing Girlfriend, Whitty starts every date hunched over nervously, with Carol needing to bring him out of his shell.
* RetiredBadass: Whitty used to be an ex-rockstar, just like Daddy Dearest. The latter may have forced the former's retirement, however, as Whitty seems to hold a grudge against him.
* ScaryBlackMan: While a humanoid bomb, Whitty is aggressive, standoffish, and has an intimidating voice, echoing the hallmarks of the stereotype. His human doppelganger Julian is also actually black, though he subverts the trope due to his animations portraying him as more laid-back and approachable.
* SeriesFauxnale: The Date Week was initially set up to be the GrandFinale for Whitty, and it was for a while, until the release of ''V.S. Whitty: The Definitive Edition'', which brought back the mod with new content.
* ShipperOnDeck: [[spoiler:Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Pico and Sunday are all working together to help ensure Whitty and Carol's date goes just right. In Sunday and Pico's case, this includes as bodyguards.]] However, unless you go through the mod's asset folders or see the true credits, you won't find this out.
%%* SkywardScream: [[spoiler:Done by Whitty to signal that he is 110% ''done'' with The Boyfriend.]]
* SlasherSmile:
** [[spoiler:"Ballistic" Whitty gets a teeth-grinding one, with it clashing with his rage making it all the more terrifying, although it's more of a furious grimace rather than a sadistic grin.]]
** [[spoiler:Julian's idle during the neon segments of "Underground" has a thin but wide smile; when combined with his hunched over pose and scibbled-out eyes, it makes him look unhinged.]]
* SpeakingSimlish:
** As per tradition, BF speaks in beeps and bops, and we are introduced to Whitty, who sings with a harsh electric guitar voice, which is actually the composer's voice heavily filtered.
** "Hungry" is a cover of an actual song, done up with Boyfriend's beep-boops and Julian's slightly chiller guitar noises.
* TurnsRed:
** Being a literal bomb with a short fuse, as the week progresses Whitty's songs become much faster-paced and aggressively filled with note strings and his voice becomes louder and angrier. [[spoiler:This reaches a breaking point in "Ballistic" where he literally breaks reality and loses his composure where he limps forward and screams long strings of notes at Boyfriend. Fittingly, at this point his icon in the health meter changes from a black bomb to a red bomb.]]
** Partway through "Underground", Julian will discard his hoodie and the song will pick up in notes, with his poses going from more casual to ''very'' into it. Special mention goes to his idle, which changes from him leaning back with a smirk and slower bob to him leaning forward with a fast bob and cocky grin.
* WhenHeSmiles: If you do good during the songs in "Date Night," Whitty will eventually start smiling bashfully. [[spoiler:During the final stretch of "Heartbass", he's singing and dancing his heart out with Carol with a big smile on his face.]]
* WingdingEyes:
** [[spoiler:"Ballistic" Whitty's eyes rapidly flashes through four shapes similar to the Playstation controller symbols in his idle animation, settling on one of them in any given direction: X (up), circle (down), triangle (right), with a cross (left) replacing the Playstation square.]]
** During a few points in "Underground", [[spoiler:everything will turn neon and Julian's eyes will turn into the same shapes "Ballistic" Whitty's eyes turn into (with the shapes used for left and right arrows being swapped), with his idle being all of them at once]].
* YourHeadAsplode: Whitty's head doesn't just look like a bomb - it ''is'' a bomb, and can detonate if he gets too stressed (though he can recover, as it contains none of his vital organs). [[spoiler:Failing any song in Date Night ends with him actually exploding, with a mile-wide blast radius]].
