* ActingForTwo: Used in many of his reviews, such as his VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins review as Darkspawn Joe and Warden Joe. This was also used heavily in his review of reasons why VideoGame/EmpireTotalWar rocks, forming two opposing regiments from just two people. He also plays Corporate Commander, though viewers wouldn't be able to tell ordinarily what with the character's mask.
* ColbertBump: If Joe uses another reviewer as a research source, expect that person's subscriber count to rise shortly after.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer:
** In both his reaction video and his review for the first three episodes of WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021, he mispronounces Yondu Udonta's name as Zandu.
** In his review of WesternAnimation/RatchetAndClank he claims that the movie is just a bunch of cutscenes from the game edited into a movie. This is a false claim as the movie was actually finished before the game and was even showed off at film festivals before arriving into theatres.
** In his VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcomInfinite Angry Review, he noted a few changes that appeared to be made for casual players at the expense of the dedicated fans: a simplified button layout, slower gameplay, and 2-on-2 battles. The button layout is basically the same as the layout in VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom2It replaces the assist buttons with the Infinity Stone and character switch buttons, and many of the dedicated fans don't consider the latter two changes to be problems.
* FollowTheLeader: His style obviously shows some inspiration from WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd. This was parodied in the first Website/ChannelAwesome anniversary Crossover in which Joe gushes about meeting his chief inspiration and idol... only for it to turn out to be WebVideo/Benzaie's sidekick Beary.
** His first review of Film/TheLastAirbender had genuine anger, but he forgot to turn on the mic.
** He certainly didn't make that mistake in his review of VideoGame/SonicFreeRiders... let's just say that, apparently, the entire game is his BerserkButton.
** The Angry Army has been accused of being a ripoff of the "Bro Army" from LetsPlay/PewDiePie, despite the concept being OlderThanTheyThink.
* RealLifeRelative: He has featured his younger brothers in a few reviews.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Joe had plans for reviewing both WWE 2K18 and 2K19 the years they came out, even having purchasing masks for the skits, but due to time constraints, he was unable to review them for those years. He did wind up including 2K20 on his "Worst Games of 2019" list after playing it, although he didn't make a full review.
