!! [[WesternAnimation/SpiderManUnlimited The Cartoon]]
* ActingForTwo: Creator/RinoRomano whenever Spider-Man and the Green Goblin interact.
* ActorAllusion: Creator/JenniferHale voices Lady Vermin, [[WesternAnimation/SpiderManTheAnimatedSeries a]] [[ComicBook/BlackCat female villainess]] [[DatingCatwoman with a romantic interest in Spider-Man]].
* CastingGag: The [[BigBad High Evolutionary]] is voiced by Creator/RichardNewman, who'd previously voiced Phaeton in ''WesternAnimation/{{Exosquad}}'' and M. Bison in the ''WesternAnimation/StreetFighter'' cartoon, both of which producer Will Meguniot also worked on.
** Hell, the HE's method of ruling is pretty similar to Phaeton's rule over normal Earth in ''Exosquad''; both also have backgrounds in genetic science (High Evolutionary is a master of it, while Phaeton was born from it).
* TheDanza: John Payne voiced John Jameson.
* DuelingShows: This was originally going to be a straight AnimatedAdaptation of ''ComicBook/SpiderMan2099'' and Creator/MarvelComics' answer to ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond''. To say that it was nowhere near as successful would be an understatement, as it was canceled after one season.
* NetworkToTheRescue: If not for Creator/ABCFamily and Creator/ToonDisney (later Creator/DisneyXD) airing reruns during the 2000s, the show would've faded into obscurity.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** In the English version, everyone is recast such as Spider-Man going from Christopher Daniel Barnes to Rino Romano and J. Jonah Jameson going from Ed Asner to Richard Newman. Justified with the Green Goblin, Vulture, the Hunter (Kraven) and Electro who are alternate versions.
** In the Japanese version, Green Goblin goes from Junpei Morita to [=Cho=].
* RoleReprise: Most of the cast in the Japanese version are reprised by their ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManTheAnimatedSeries'' voice actors.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The series was placed up against ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'' in its prime and got crushed. After three episodes, rather than given a different timeslot, the series was outright pulled from the schedule. Over a year later, the remaining episodes were burned off - [[BlatantLies completely coincidentally]] in the months leading up to the release of [[Film/SpiderMan1 the first movie]].
* UnfinishedEpisode: Several scripts were written for the second season, including the resolution of the cliffhanger, but were never produced.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The original concept was to adapt the first 26 issues of the Creator/StanLee and Creator/SteveDitko comics. ([[https://web.archive.org/web/20180524003820/https://maskedmayhem.blogspot.com/2016/08/inside-spider-man-unlimited-look-at.html The series was put into production for contractual reasons]], per Will Meugniot, and doing the first 26 issues would've been a low-budget way to fulfill that requirement.) However, those plans came to a halt [[ScrewedByTheLawyers when Marvel sold the film and animation rights for Spider-Man]] to Creator/SonyPictures, and hence Saban was unable to use the "actual" Spider-Man. Marvel eventually sent Saban a list of stuff they wanted them to use, including the symbiotes, Counter-Earth, John Jameson, etc., explaining the weird mish-mash of ideas and characters the show had. Meugniot then came up with a story treatment that included Spider-Man meeting the Counter Earth version of Peter Parker, who would have been revealed to be his world's version of Comicbook/{{Venom}} (as his Uncle Ben had never died, thus meaning Peter never gained the moral fortitude necessary to resist the symbiote). Marvel ordered this plot thread nixed because they felt it would be too similar to the disaster that was ''Comicbook/TheCloneSaga''.
** One of the proposed plans for the series was to adapt ''ComicBook/SpiderMan2099'', but it was felt that ''Batman Beyond'' (then also in the works) covered that territory well.
** A possible script for "Destiny Unleashed Part 2" can be seen [[http://web.archive.org/web/20201001125210/https://tvwriter.com/14-FIN.pdf here]].
** Also this [[https://web.archive.org/web/20171007235316/https://tvwriter.net/animation/animation-spiderman-unlimited/spider-man-unlimited-second-season-arc/ website]] lists summaries for unproduced episodes and other ideas that reveal the following:
*** Spider-Man encounters Counter Earth versions of Mary Jane and Black Cat.
*** Lord Tyger defected from the Knights of Wundagor to form a government in order to unite humans and beastials together.
*** Venom and Carnage [[FusionDance merging together]] to become King Carnage.

* CrossDressingVoices: By virtue of Nolan North's voice being used for all of the Goblins, he also voices the female Menace.
* ExiledFromContinuity:
** [[Series/SpiderManJapan Supaidaman]], [[ComicBook/MarvelZombies Zombie Spider-Man]], Spider-Hulk, and [[ComicBook/AmalgamUniverse Spider-Boy]] were considered as playable characters, but Gameloft doesn't have the rights for them.
** For some reason, the Fantastic Four logo on Bombastic Bag-Man's uniform has been edited out, with the major rumor between the rivalry between Marvel Studios and Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox.
* RoleReprise:
** Creator/YuriLowenthal and Creator/TaraStrong reprise their roles as Spider-Man and Black Cat from ''VideoGame/SuperHeroSquadOnline''. Tara also reprises her role as Mary Jane Watson from ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]''
** Creator/BenDiskin reprises his role as Venom from ''WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan''.
