* ButIPlayOneOnTV: Robert Remus never saw active duty in any branch of the armed forces, which he has previously explained was due to a lazy eye. This has occasionally gotten both him and WWE themselves into trouble due to his commitment to keeping up the character in public, and at armed forces benefits events.
* CreatorBacklash: He wasn't proud of his brief stint in the ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Wrestling_Federation American Wrestling Federation]]'' in 1996; A small short-lived promotion from Chicago that promised to take wrestling back to its roots applying a restrictive "Set of rules" that only produced long, boring, formulaic matches.
** He's gone on to say that he wished his return to the WWF in 1990 went differently, as he wasn't entirely comfortable doing an anti-American heel gimmick.
* FollowTheLeader: Undoubtedly, one of the soundest business minds ever to grace the squared circle. Once he got signed with Creator/{{Hasbro}}, that didn't just meant a sweet pay-check for him, his vision allowed several of his peers to become very profitable brands by themselves.
* InspirationForTheWork: On his own ''"A&E Biography"'' episode on their series ''"WWE: Legends"'', he revealed TheUnsolvedMystery for the creation of his character. Turns out The Large Sarge is a huge [[TheMovieBuff movie buff]]!
** Stucked performing [[TheGimmick gimmicks]] that didn't quite fitted him, one night watching the movie ''"The D.I."'' on T.V. he liked very much the character of "Technical Sargent Moore" (Portrayed by none other than Creator/JackWebb of ''Franchise/{{Dragnet}}'' fame). From then on he consulted with acquaintances of him within the military. After a very well made research he putted up the pieces together to construct his now famous persona.
** And by the way, He took the name of "Sargeant Slaughter" from another movie (''"Soldier in the Rain"'', from a character played by Creator/JackieGleason).
* RealSongThemeTune: Early in his carrer, "The Halls of Montezuma" A.K.A. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ls0o_ccYOY0 The CorpsĀ“ song]].
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Has often been speculated as a possible candidate to lead Wrestling/VinceMcMahon's national expansion, in the event that Wrestling/HulkHogan had decided to stay with the AWA. For example, Wrestling/JimCornette placed him number one on his list, followed by Austin Idol and [[Wrestling/VonErichFamily The Texas Tornado]].
** Had injuries not caught up with him and he stayed a ring regular for a while longer, he was likely set to enter a feud against [[Wrestling/JacquesRougeau The Mountie]] leading up to ''Summerslam 1992''.
* WrittenByCastMember: He and Don Kernodle came up with the whole "The Final Conflict" feud against Wrestling/RickySteamboat and Jay Youngblood themselves, after stopping at a convenience store in Savannah, GA and buying a composition book. They had the whole thing written by the time they got to Myrtle Beach, SC.
