* ActorAllusion: Also counting as a CastingGag. This is not the first time Creator/MikePollock has voiced a [[Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog mad scientist aiming for world domination with an army of robots]].
* AuthorsSavingThrow: Associate director Nakano Yuu gave [[https://twitter.com/NakanoYoo/status/1075394747177459714 an explanation]] why they didn't mention ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' in the movie while confirming that it's actually still part of the history of ''Anime/MazingerZInfinity'' instead of throwing it to CanonDiscontinuity: He and the team predicted that if they ever mentioned things from ''Grendizer'' and yet didn't have the mecha itself appear on-screen, the audience would be disappointed, so to avoid such case, they just decided not to mention it at all.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: A flashback of Tetsuya slapping Jun.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: When it was first announced, several articles incorrectly referred to the film as a ''live action'' adaptation.
* CelebrityVoiceActor: The male half of Baron Ashura is voiced by Hiroyuki Miyasako, who is best known for playing the boke in the comedy duo Ameagari Kesshitai, and he is often involved in high-budget japanese movies.
** Likewise, two of the Mazin Girls are voiced by Yui P and Okarina who are both part of the comedy duo Okazu Club.
* ReferencedBy: This movie made its debut to the ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars'' franchise in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsXOmega'' as a one-time event before its normal debut at ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsT''. Amongst the good modifications to the story, it massively reduced Tetsuya's tenure as the BadassInDistress into only 1-2 scenarios, and it brought back references to ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' within the timeline in the game story context without name-mentioning, since they had more time and this cross-series reference practice has been pretty common in ''Super Robot Wars'' series.
** In its return appearance in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars30'', the Infinitism version of Mazinkaiser was also added in.
* RealLifeRelative: Tetsuya and Jun's voice actors in the Latin American Spanish dub, Creator/ArturoMercadoJr and Diana Galvan Santos respectively, are married in RealLife, just like their characters in-film.
* RoleReprise: The Latin American Spanish dub brings back almost all the voice cast from the remasterized version of the [[Anime/MazingerZ original series]], being the sole exception Shiro, since he is now older, and as such he is voiced by a male voice actor (Alberto Bernal), rather than a female (Susana Moreno).
