Context Trivia / HellraiserRevelations

* AshcanCopy: The film was very quickly put together so that Creator/TheWeinsteinCompany could keep the rights to the franchise. The filming itself went on for a mere 11 days and the post-production process was about three weeks, and when the movie finally made it in theaters, it played in a single theater as a free showing only once.
* DisownedAdaptation: Creator/CliveBarker made this Website/{{Twitter}} post regarding the film:
-->"[[https://twitter.com/realclivebarker/status/105186279708299264 Hello, my friends. I want to put on record that the flic out there using the word Hellraiser IS NO FUCKIN' CHILD OF MINE!]] [[https://twitter.com/realclivebarker/status/105189711416524800 I have NOTHING to do with the fuckin' thing. If they claim its from the mind of Clive Barker, it's a lie. It's not even from my butt-hole.]]"[[note]]As a response, the "Inspired by Clive Barker's work" blurb was quietly removed from later versions of the trailer.[[/note]]
* TheOtherDarrin: Doug Bradley declined to reprise his role as Pinhead for the first time in the series, and Stephan Smith Collins was cast as a replacement physically and dubbed over by Creator/FredTatasciore.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** One of the reasons for all of the call-backs and references to the first film, is due to the fact that ''Revelations'' was originally conceived as a full-on reboot. The low budget and lack of Creator/DougBradley was due to the fact that they waited so long that the rights were going to expire if they didn't have something made within an ultra-ultra short period of time to get the film made.
** Creator/DougBradley would've most likely reprised his role as Pinhead as in previous films if not for the fact that when he asked for the script, he found it to be unfinished, and Dimension refused to make a second draft when asked. That, combined with how little they wanted to pay him, was the reason he didn't come back.
** Writer Gary Tunnicliffe had intended to also direct, but he was busy doing makeup for ''Film/Scream4'' and the rushed production couldn't wait for him to finish. Tunnicliffe would later get to write AND direct the next film, ''Film/HellraiserJudgement''
