** The English dub is no slouch either. Creator/KaijiTang, Creator/MaxMittelman, Creator/BenDiskin (for the first 3 seasons), Cristina Vee, Creator/CheramiLeigh, etc.
* BonusEpisode: The episode "Walking Alone" was released the year after the first two seasons as an OVA, bundled with the manga's 13th volume. Unusually for a Bonus Episode, it is officially counted as episode 25 of the series and is fully integrated into the story, with plot developments and new characters who reappear in later seasons.
* ColbertBump: So many fans wanted to check out Osamu Dazai's Literature/NoLongerHuman for themselves that Donald Keene's translation became the #1 best-selling Japanese book on Amazon.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** The voice actor of Ranpo was replaced from Creator/VicMignogna to Creator/LandonMcDonald from Season 3 onwards.
** Creator/AlejandroSaab is now voicing Souseki Natsume instead of Creator/GregChun as of Season 4.
*** Ray Chase also replaced Chun as Ryuurou Hirotsu starting for season 4.
** A.J. Beckles replaced Creator/BenDiskin as Michizo Tachihara from season 4 onwards due to Diskin cutting his ties with Crunchyroll.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Creator/KenshoOno, normally known for playing soft-voiced boys, is the AxCrazy Akutagawa.
** Creator/DaisukeOno and Creator/RobbieDaymond as a SmugSnake who dies in the episode he debuted in.
** Creator/KanaHanazawa, who usually voices shy, cute girls like Red Blood Cell and Nadeko Sengoku, is the psychotic Lucy. (which is kind of subverted in her HeelFaceTurn later).
** Creator/NicolasRoye as Chuya Nakahara, a Gangster with a HairTriggerTemper in contrast to someone like Mikey Kudo.
** Creator/KaijiTang, who usually voices characters with a baritone, uses a slightly high-pitched voice for Dazai.
** Latin-American example: Melissa Gedeon, who normally plays cheerful, enthusiastic characters such as Pinkie Pie is cast as Q, a violent, AxCrazy little boy who is considered TheDreaded by nearly everyone.
* SameVoiceTheirEntireLife: The Fifteen arc showcases Dazai and Chuuya back when they were fifteen, keeping the same dub and sub actors that portray the present-day versions in their twenties. Dazai sounds normal enough overall, though Chuuya is still given an incredibly deep voice in the sub which can be jarring to hear since he's extremely small and OlderThanTheyLook.
