!!Trivia tropes for the [[WesternAnimation/AvengersAssemble TV Series]]:
* CreatorBacklash: Storyboard artist [[https://youtu.be/IttvJRFgFJo Ben Bates]] is not particularly pleased with his work here due to, put simply, the severe miscommunication and behind the scenes issues at Marvel Animation.
* ExecutiveMeddling: According to a storyboarder for ''WesternAnimation/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy2015'' and ''WesternAnimation/MarvelsSpiderMan'', the Marvel shows have stiff animation (and no animation techniques such as smears or exaggerated frames) because it was mandated by the execs to keep the art on model.
* FakeNationality: The Iranian-American Creator/KathreenKhavari voices Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager.
* FlipFlopOfGod: When first announced, this cartoon was said to take place in the same universe as ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]''. However, later information stated it would be a sequel to ''WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes'', which took place in a different universe. However, while it would later be clear it's set in the same universe as ''USM'', as noted below, a true sequel to ''EMH'' was in the works before Marvel pulled the plug on it for a show closer to ''Film/TheAvengers2012'', so this could be the result of that happening.
* IronyAsSheIsCast: "Prison Break" has Crimson Widow, a villain, fighting Wasp, a hero. They're respectively voiced by Julie Nathanson and Kari Wahlgren, who are best friends in real life.
* LifeImitatesArt: Some the [=VAs=] [[http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mctoieZF9v1rw6hzpo1_500.jpg got a little too into character Halloween circa the first season]].
* MemeAcknowledgement: Don't worry, [[https://twitter.com/TroyBakerVA/status/1371851425567870982?s=20 even the cast]] mishears Hawkeye's and Loki's names as "hot guy" and "low-key".
-->'''Creator/TroyBaker:''' ["Hot guy" was] literally the nickname we used whilst recording the animated series. That and "Low-key" for my other character.
* TheOtherMarty: Following the below-mentioned revelations of Stephen Collins's child molestation, Disney had Howard Stark's appearance in "Thanos Rising" redubbed by Creator/TroyBaker.
* TheOtherDarrin: There are quite a few replacements that happened over the course of the series. To go into detail:
** On ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'', JARVIS was reprised by his ''WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes'' voice actor, Creator/PhilLaMarr. Starting here, he's voiced by Creator/DavidKaye.
** The Guardians of the Galaxy retain the same voice cast from their ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'' appearance. Sans Rocket's first voice actor (Creator/BillyWest replaced by Creator/SethGreen, then he was replaced by Creator/TrevorDevall, who also voiced him on ''Ultimate Spider-Man'') and Groot (Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson replacing the late Creator/MichaelClarkeDuncan). Later episodes sees Creator/WillFriedle replace Creator/ChrisCox as Star-Lord, to create synergy with the ''WesternAnimation/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy2015'' cartoon, Star-Lord also got an updated character design at the same time.
** So far, every post-Season 2 appearance of Tony Stark/Iron Man intended (or implied) to take place in the ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'' universe has him voiced by Creator/MickWingert instead of Creator/AdrianPasdar. This includes ''Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Avengers Reassembled'' and ''[[WesternAnimation/MarvelSuperHeroAdventuresFrostFight Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight!]]''. Mr. Wingert took over the role full-time beginning with ''Secret Wars'', though we get a taste of it in ''WesternAnimation/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy2015''.
** In "Planet Doom" and ''WesternAnimation/HulkAndTheAgentsOfSMASH'', Fred Tatasciore voiced Bruce Banner in addition to the Hulk. In "Adapting to Change", Jesse Burch voiced Bruce. Starting in season 4, Bruce Banner is voiced by Kevin Shinick, the show runner of ''WesternAnimation/MarvelsSpiderMan''.
** Heimdall was previously voiced by James C. Mathis III in the first two seasons, and by NBA star Chris Bosh in the ''WesternAnimation/HulkAndTheAgentsOfSMASH'' episode "For Asgard." In "The Most Dangerous Hunt," he's instead voiced by Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson, who reprises his role from ''Guardians of the Galaxy''.
** In "Spectrums", the Nightmare versions of Ultron and the Winter Soldier were voiced by Creator/FredTatasciore and Creator/RogerCraigSmith, rather than Creator/JimMeskimen and Bob Bergen, respectively. Additionally, pre-Winter Soldier Bucky was voiced by Creator/RobbieDaymond in "Saving Captain Rogers". In season 5, he's voiced by Creator/MattLanter.
** In ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'', Beetle was voiced by Creator/SteveBlum. Here, he's voiced by Mark Hanson.
** In ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'', Klaw was voiced by Creator/MattLanter. Here, he's voiced by David Shaughnessy. In Season 5, he'll be voiced by his ''Lego Marvel Super Heroes - Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda'' voice actor, Creator/TrevorDevall. Likewise, Shuri's voice actress from the LEGO special, Daisy Lightfoot, will replace Creator/KimberlyBrooks as Shuri.
** Ant-Man was voiced by Grant George for the first three seasons, before being replaced by Creator/JoshKeaton beginning in ''Secret Wars''.
** In ''WesternAnimation/HulkAndTheAgentsOfSmash'', Hercules was voiced by Townsend Coleman. His appearance here sees him voiced by Creator/MatthewMercer.
** When he appeared in season 2, Howard Stark was voiced by [[Series/SeventhHeaven Stephen Collins]] and in season 4 by Creator/CharlieSchlatter. This likely has to do with TMZ leaking recordings of Collins confessing to his ex-wife to child molestation. This even went into TheOtherMarty, as Disney had Creator/TroyBaker redub Collins' lines.
** As ''WesternAnimation/MarvelsSpiderMan'' has seem to have taken ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]''[='=]s place, season 5 will see Creator/RobbieDaymond as Spidey instead of Creator/DrakeBell and Creator/TroyBaker as Kraven instead of Creator/DiedrichBader.
** When Medusa appears in season 5, she's voiced by Creator/VanessaMarshall instead of Creator/CatherineTaber.
** Sticking with season 5, Crystal is voiced by Creator/StephanieSheh instead of Mary Faber (HATAOS) and Vanessa Marshall (GOTG).
* OutOfOrder: Several episodes of Season 4 only make sense if they're assumed to take place before the Season 3 finale. Specifically:
** The HalloweenEpisode, which only features the original Avengers (including Iron Man, who still cannot escape the dimension he is in) and none of the new recruits like Black Panther or Ms. Marvel, and yet aired after the originals had been scattered across time and replaced, but before any of them had been rescued.
** "New Year's Eve," features Avengers Tower despite it having been destroyed, and Iron Man, who was still isolated in a PrisonDimension when the episode aired. However, this placement was done intentionally as the writers wanted to create a plausible story featuring Peggy Carter and Howard Stark teaming up with Iron Man and Captain America; it is technically a WholeEpisodeFlashback from the perspective of a time travelling Howard Stark and Peggy Carter, giving it more fluidity.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Creator/JasonSpisak as [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Justin]] [[SmugSnake Hammer]].
** Creator/YuriLowenthal as [[{{Gonk}} the bizarre-looking]] MadScientist Egghead.
* RecycledScript:
** Season 3 features Ultron as the main antagonist, followed by an adaptation of ''ComicBook/CivilWar2006'', despite the "Avengers Disassembled" arc from Season 2 having already done the same basic premise. Justified slightly in that Season 3 is done by a new creative team.
** Season 3 also has a mini-arc where the Hulk is forced off the team by government interference, only to be replaced with the Comicbook/RedHulk. ''Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes'' had a similar episode in its second season.
* RoleReprise: Several voice actors from previous Marvel shows reprise their roles here, including:
** Creator/AdrianPasdar as [[Anime/MarvelAnimeIronMan Iron Man]] for the first three seasons.
** Creator/FredTatasciore as WesternAnimation/{{Hulk|Vs}}, [[WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes Volstagg]], and [[VideoGame/MarvelUltimateAlliance Thunderball]].
** Creator/JamesCMathisIII as [[WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes Black Panther]].
** ''Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight!'', a 2015 Christmas Movie Special that primarily features the Avengers, sees Antony Del Rio reprise his role as [[WesternAnimation/TheSuperheroSquadShow Reptil]] while [[Creator/GreyDeLisle Grey DeLisle Griffin]] is once again Captain Marvel.
** Starting in season 4, Bruce Banner is voiced by Kevin Shinick, who voices him on ''WesternAnimation/MarvelsSpiderMan''. Season 5 continues with as ''Assemble'' joining ''WesternAnimation/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy2015'' in writing out ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'' and replacing it with the 2017 show, and thus will see Creator/RobbieDaymond as Spider-Man himself, Creator/AlastairDuncan as Vulture, and Creator/TroyBaker, the voice of Hawkeye and Loki, voice Kraven.
** Keston John, Daisy Lightfoot, and Creator/TrevorDevall will reprise their respective ''Lego Marvel Super Heroes - Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda'' role as Killmonger, Shuri, and Klaue.
** In Season 4, Creator/HayleyAtwell reprises her role as Peggy Carter from the movies and ''Series/AgentCarter''. Wynn Everett also reprises her role as Whitney Frost from the aforementioned ''Agent Carter'' for Season 4's HalloweenEpisode.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The show was lucky to have reruns as it went on. Once 2018 came around, it's only time slot is on Sunday mornings, and even then, it's mostly for new episodes. Season 5 continues this, with new episodes still premiering on Sunday, but at ''9:00pm''
* VoicesInOneRoom: [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KhQUuFM6C5E As per usual]] with most projects that have Collette Sunderman as the voice director, the voice actors record together in order to really get that character chemistry going.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Early promotional art and footage had Hawkeye wearing his red outfit from ''ComicBook/TheUltimates'' and the movie. In the final show, his outfit is purple rather than red, making it resemble his [[http://i.usatoday.net/life/_photos/2012/04/16/Fraction-shoots-straight-on-Hawkeye-series-1D1AKPE3-x-large.jpg current comic book look]].
** [[http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/man-of-action-challenge-the-comicshollywood-model The series was initially going to be]] a direct sequel to ''WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes'', but with a brand new team of Avengers. The live-action ''[[Film/TheAvengers2012 Avengers]]'' movie then opened to bigger numbers than expected, which resulted in [[ExecutiveMeddling the execs stepping in and cancelling the show IN THE MIDDLE OF PRODUCTION]] so that a show starring the movie cast could be made instead. This may be the reason why there was [[FlipFlopOfGod so much conflicting information]] about whether or not ''Assemble'' was going to be a sequel to ''Earth's Mightiest Heroes''.
** Before a creative team shakeup behind the scenes, the original plan was for Season 3 to directly follow the ending of Season 2. When Eugene Son and Dani Wolff took over as story editors in Season 3, the initial premise was abandoned.
** ComicBook/MoonKnight was planned to appear in Season 3 (hence the tease in the Season 2 finale), but because of the aforementioned behind-the-scenes shakeup, his appearance was pushed back to Season 4.
** A spinoff based on the Carol Danvers' Captain Marvel was proposed, but ultimately never got off the ground due to the creative team shakeup. It would have came after ''Black Panther's Quest''.
