* BonusEpisode: Chouriki Sentai Ohranger Super Video: Member Notebook was released with an issue of TV Magazine.
* CutSong:
** The show almost used "See You Again" by KYOKO Sound Laboratory as its ending theme, but the demise of Nippon ColumbiaSuper Sentai music rights holders label Forte Music Entertainment prevented this from happening.
** On the other hand, while "Niji-iro Crystal Sky" by Kentaro Hayami was supposed to be the opening theme, it was ultimately used as an insert song, the ending theme to the finale, and the song that played during the Ohranger tribute fight in Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger. Interestingly, this one was also composed by the aforementioned KYOKO.
* DistancedFromCurrentEvents: Before the series debuted, the Great Hanshin Earthquake occurred. During the series' first month on the air, the infamous Sarin subway attack perpetrated by the AUM cult occurred. As a result of these and other dark events, the show's dark storyline had to be toned down considerably.
* ExecutiveMeddling: A positive example. Olé vs. Kakuranger was originally conceived of as a simple special V-Cinema episode without any crossover, but then producer Susumu Yoshikawa suggested a team up with Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger, thus beginning the yearly Vs. Movie tradition.
* MilestoneCelebration: Only two years after the 15th anniversary was officially commemorated during Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger (then 15th series), Ohranger saw the celebration of 20 years since the premiere of Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger, the first anniversary to acknowledge Goranger and JAKQ as preceeding Series/BattleFeverJ. This was highlighted in the trailer for TheMovie with a commemorative logo.
* PopCultureUrbanLegends: Ohranger nearly killed the Franchise/SuperSentai franchise and it's successor Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger saved it. In reality, that "honor" goes to Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman and Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman, respectively. While it was true that Ohranger didn't have the best TV ratings with 4.452% to Fivemans 6.49%, it had some of the best toy sales at the time with a whopping 15.9 billion yen to help offset that.
* RecycledScript:
** One episode involves Juri staging a fake defection to save her male teammates, just like Haruna Morikawa and Kazumi Hoshikawa did before her. All three episodes were written by Toshiki Inoue.
** The debut episode of the Red Puncher has a plot almost identical to the debut of the Galaxy Robo. Hirohisa Soda wrote these episodes.
** Episode four has a plot that's eerily similar to episode three of Series/TokkyuuShireiSolbrain. Both episodes were written by Noboru Sugimura.
* RoleReprise: Nobuo Tanaka returns as the narrator, having previously narrated Series/KousokuSentaiTurboranger six years earlier.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** As noted on the main page, the first few episodes are a LOT more DarkerAndEdgier by the end of the series. If the events under DistancedFromCurrentEvents hadn't happened, odds are that the show's tone wouldn't have been changed.
** As evident by the writing staff (which initially included Creator/ToshikiInoue), as well as the early tone, it's clear that the show was actually intended to be Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman 2.0.
** In addition to being turned from an ordinary V-Cinema to the first yearly Vs. Movie by ExecutiveMeddling mentioned above, Olé vs. Kakuranger originally only planned to bring back Teruaki Ogawa and Satomi Hirose as Sasuke/[=NinjaRed=] and Tsuruhime/[=NinjaWhite=], but the actors for the other three Kakurangers offered to come back, making it a full reunion.
