3	* ActingForTwo: Creator/MichaelWisher (Morelli) also provided the voice of Senior Crewman Ranjit, spoken to by Vishinsky over the spaceship's intercom in part four, but was uncredited on-screen. The cod-Indian accent that Wisher used for this scene would most probably be frowned upon today.
4	* RecycledSet: The Thal spaceship doors from "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS10E4PlanetOfTheDaleks Planet of the Daleks]]" are reused for the geology ship exterior, and floor panels and structural components from "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS12E2TheArkInSpace The Ark in Space]]" and "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS9E4TheMutants The Mutants]]" in the ship interior. In particular, a distinctive set of walls with a waffle-like triangular embossing first used in "The Mutants" appear in many serials well into the eighties, and even turned up on ''Series/BlakesSeven'' as well.
5	* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Originally, Sorenson died after falling into the pit, but producer Creator/PhilipHinchcliffe thought it would be too grim for children, and also saw Sorenson as being affected by planet's corruption rather than plainly evil. Instead, Sorenson would be later shown alive and being cured of the anti-matter.
