1* CareerResurrection: Creator/JenniferConnelly was pigeonholed starting from the late '80s to early '90s as {{Fanservice}}, after initially becoming known as a child star. While she slowly regained esteem with parts in praised arthouse fare such as ''Film/DarkCity'' and ''Film/RequiemForADream'', it was her [[UsefulNotes/AcademyAward Oscar]]–winning role in this film that solidified her comeback as a respected adult actress.
2* DawsonCasting: Creator/RussellCrowe was in his late 30s during the filming, which begins as Nash enters Princeton University. While his age is not stated in the movie, in reality this happened when Nash was 20 years old. Granted, Crowe plays him right up until he receives the Nobel Prize in his mid-sixties.
