* ActingForTwo:
** In the Japanese version, some voice actors portray multiple minor characters, such as those who only appear in flashbacks or those cheering in the audience for one of the champions.
** Creator/WataruTakagi provides his voice to both Zeus and Isami Kondo, [[RoleReprise a character he voiced before]] in the comedic spin-off of ''Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem''.
** In the ''[[ScreenToStageAdaptation Stage of Ragnarok]]'', former idol Himeka Araya plays both Eve and Hrist.
* AllStarCast:
** The Japanese voice cast of the anime has voice actors such as Creator/MiyukiSawashiro, Creator/TomoyoKurosawa, Creator/TomokazuSeki, Creator/HikaruMidorikawa, Creator/WataruTakagi, Creator/SomaSaito, Creator/KazuhiroYamaji, Creator/TakahiroSakurai, Creator/JunichiSuwabe, Creator/TatsuhisaSuzuki, Creator/YoshitsuguMatsuoka, Creator/RieTanaka, and Creator/ShowHayami. The second season adds Creator/TomokazuSugita, Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi, Creator/SubaruKimura, Creator/YuichiNakamura, Creator/AyumuMurase, Creator/TetsuInada, Creator/RyotaroOkiayu and Creator/DaisukeNamikawa to the roster.
** The Latin American Spanish dub does not lag behind on this, as it feature young and veteran voice actors, like Creator/MariaFernandaMorales (Brunhilde), Creator/PedroDAguillonJr (Zeus), Creator/EnzoFortuny (Adam), Creator/IrwinDaayan (Poseidon), Creator/HumbertoSolorzano (Odin), Creator/EduardoGarza (Chen Gong), Creator/EdsonMatus (Liu Bei), Creator/KarlaFalcon (Aphrodite), Creator/VictorUgarte (Yoshioka Seijuro), Creator/CristinaHernandez (The female narrator) and many more.
* BannedInChina: The show is not available on Netflix India due complaints of the "trivialization" of Shiva in the anime.
* CelebrityVoiceActor: The English dub features known live-action actors and voice actors best known for their work in Western animation, such as Creator/KeoneYoung, Creator/TonyCurran, Creator/GeorgeNewbern, Creator/BumperRobinson and others.
* CompletelyDifferentTitle: The original title of this manga is ''World's End Valkyrie'' (終末のワルキューレ).
* CrossDressingVoices: In the English dub, trans woman Meli Grant provides the voice of Zerofuku (a male character).
* DistaffCounterpart: Has one in ''Majo Taisen'', a girl-focused tournament manga running in the same magazine. Instead of the fighters being various male historical figures and gods, this story is made of entirely female "witches" throughout history fighting for a single wish. Also, in ''Majo Taisen'', there are no teams; each witch is on her own against everyone else.
* GodNeverSaidThat:
** Since [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d5/44/04/d544043b8c85f354b13763a4e708eb2c.png the design of Simo Häyhä]] was revealed before his actual debut in the story (as of now, the character still has yet to make an actual appearance in the manga), many fans thought that he was going to fight in the 5th round after the fight of Jack the Ripper ended. In truth, the illustration was made because the artist of the manga made a poll with the Einherjar that were not revealed yet, where they would reveal the design of the fighter of humankind with most votes, with Häyhä winning and having his design prematurely revealed as a result, but it was never stated that he was going to fight in the fifth round, where Raiden Tameemon ended fighting instead.
** Some fans believe that, since Shiva was originally going to fight against Adam until Zeus replaced him, Raiden was going to fight Zeus and Brunhilde prepared him as a counter to the God Father of Cosmos. Even if, coincidentally, Raiden and Zeus have a similar skillset, this was never stated, and, considering Zeus was supposed to fight the last among the side of the gods and Brunhilde intended to win as soon as possible before Zeus's turn came, the theory doesn't holds a solid ground anyway.
* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: The characters of Soji Okita and Isami Kondo of this manga originally came from another work of one of the authors of the story (Shinya Umemura) depicting the rise and fall of the Shinsengumi called ''Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem'' (also known as ''Requiem of the Shogun'') that predates ''Shuumatsu no Valkyrie'' by eight years and that is also published in the same magazine (Comic Zenon). However, fan translations of the manga originally stopped at the first handful of chapters at the time Okita was introduced in ''Shuumatsu''; and so, for many Western readers who were unaware of the existence of ''Chiruran'', Okita and Kondo first appeared in ''Shuumatsu'' (which in hindsight is some kind of distant sequel to ''Requiem of the Shogun'').
* TheOtherDarrin:
** In the English dub of Season 2:
*** Creator/BenDiskin is replaced by Sean Rohani as the voice of Shiva.
*** Creator/AlejandroSaab replaces Creator/MikeHaimoto as Souji Okita halfway through after Haimoto was accused of sexual abuse.
** In the Latin American Spanish dub, due to the death of Creator/PedroDAguillonJr (Zeus), he is replaced with Óscar Gómez instead in Season 2. Likewise, the female narrator goes from Creator/CristinaHernandez to Erika Langarica in her place.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** In a now deleted interview posted in the official Creator/WarnerBros youtube channel, Creator/WataruTakagi said that he was surprised at first when they called him to play Zeus of all characters, as his usual typecast mostly includes adult roles. He nonetheless became more familiar with Zeus after reading the manga and managed to adapt himself to the character.
** An example from the European Spanish dub. While Blanca Hualde’s record in live action TV and movies is very diverse, her roles in anime mostly include either sweet, benevolent heroines like [[Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins Elizabeth Liones]] or [[Manga/DGrayMan Lenalee Lee]], or young girls like [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} Bonnie]], while in ''Shuumatsu no Valkyrie'' she voices the foul-mouthed, devious and ruthless Brunhilde, a far cry from those kind of characters.
* RoleReprise: Creator/TsubasaYonaga and Creator/WataruTakagi (who also voices Zeus) came back to provide the voice for Soji Okita and Isami Kondo (that they already voiced in the chibi spin-off anime of ''Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem'') in the second season of the anime.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The manga has passed through lots of beta designs and reworks before the actual product came, including [[https://imgur.com/a/Rjnz7hq an early draft of the first chapter]] with some notable differences in character designs (most notable Zeus, Thor, Shiva, Aphrodite, Odin, Incubus, Lu Bu and Heimdall) and with more {{Fanservice}} ([[HotterAndSexier with Brunhilde and Göll wearing very revealing outfits and what Incubus planned to do with Brunhilde being shown in more detail]]).
** During the making-of of the anime, the staff revealed that they originally wanted to depict Odin with gray hair and white clothes as he's portrayed in the manga, but decided to show him with [[AdaptationDyeJob black hair and clothes for the anime]] because they thought he looked good that way.
