Context Trivia / BestOfTheWorst

* AccidentallyCorrectWriting: When discussing Meredith Monk's ''Turtle Dreams'', the crew compares it a parody of avant-garde art such as the landlord dancing scene in ''Film/TheBigLebowski''. As pointed out by many in the comments, one of Monk's songs was actually used in the film itself, making the comparison more apt than intended.
* ColbertBump: After getting a whole episode dedicated to it, the obscure indie film ''Lycan Colony'' started getting sold on Amazon for ''$385'' per copy.
* {{Corpsing}}:
** While reviewing ''Psycho From Texas'', Mike, Jack, Gillian, and Jay are given two lists of titles that the director of ''[[Film/CriminallyInsane Crazy Fat Ethel II]]'' made and try to read them without laughing. All four of them fail to do so (though Gillian gives the best effort). Even Jessi, who is offscreen, couldn't maintain her composure at ''Sex Weirdo''. [[note]]Other titles include ''Wendy's Naughty Night'', ''Fire In Her Bed'', ''Confessions of a Dirty Pair'', and ''The Slut''.[[/note]]
** The second time Rich gets up and walks away during the ''Undefeatable'' review, Jay and Jessi can be heard laughing off camera, Josh laughs so long and hard that his head resembles an overripe tomato, and Mike is so desperate to avoid a SpitTake that he covers his mouth with both hands. Jack, while he does chortle a little at first, StraightMan that he is, composes himself once everything has gone OffTheRails and thanks the audience for watching.
* CreatorBacklash:
** According to lead actor Jack Mulcahy, ''Film/CreatingRemLezar'''s director Scott Zakarin [[https://youtu.be/k3r27QnaEXQ?t=595 was not especially pleased]] with some of jokes made at the movie's expense, particularly the references to pedophilia and 9/11. Mulcahy himself found RLM's commentary hilarious.
** Between the [[BrokenBase polarizing response from fans]] and the numerous sexual harassment allegations that came to light after he appeared, Creator/MaxLandis is the one guest who will assuredly never return. [[MissingEpisode RLM seems to want to forget it ever happened]].
* MilestoneCelebration: The 100th episode of the show combines the show's three most recurring gimmicks (''Wheel of the Worst'', ''Black Spine Edition'', and ''Plinketto'') into ''[[BreadEggsBreadedEggs Wheel of the Black Spine Plinketto]]''. [[spoiler:The episode also features a review of the long-requested ''Film/FatefulFindings''.]]
* MissingEpisode:
** The 2014 April Fools episode has been set to private following the fake ''Film/JurassicWorldFallenKingdom'' review debacle with ''WebVideo/HalfInTheBag''. Although still unavailable on [=YouTube=], it has since been [[https://www.redlettermedia.com/best-of-the-worst/best-of-the-worst-direct-to-video-horror uploaded]] to Platform/{{Vimeo}}.
** The episode featuring Creator/MaxLandis was de-listed after his numerous sexual harassment allegations, which is unfortunate because it features one of the most legendary discussions in the show's history: ''Film/DoubleDown''. It does not show up on Youtube searches, but can still be found by sifting through the channel's official BOTW playlist. Additionally, [[KeepCirculatingTheTapes fans have re-uploaded the ''Double Down'' segment]], which makes it easy to locate.
*** Some users have uploaded a version of the clip in which Landis has been painstakingly edited out and replaced with out-of-context clips of Mike from other episodes (often responding to Mike) or simply covered up with a massive Showbiz Pizza bear.
** The episode spotlighting ''Diamond Cobra vs. The White Fox'' was removed after it was hit with a copyright strike. As with the above example, [[KeepCirculatingTheTapes fans have re-uploaded the episode elsewhere]]. The film was the creator's college thesis film (which had NoBudget), but decided to sell it on Amazon, which she unwittingly made ripe for commentary.
* ThrowItIn: Occasionally {{invoked}}.
** A sudden loud and hard sneeze by Mike that caught everyone in the discussion off guard was apparently too good to leave out of "Wheel of the Worst #3".
** The entirety of the second part of "Wheel of the Worst #6". The second video discussion, [[spoiler:"The Osteoporosis Dance"]], is twelve minutes, and consists of everyone trying desperately not to burst out laughing [[{{Corpsing}} and failing horribly]].
** Rich trips on a green screen at the end of "Wheel of the Worst #21", taking out a light in the process. It made the destruction of that episode's loser, ''[[spoiler: Massaging the Elderly]]'', even funnier, so it was kept.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen
** ''Wheel of the Worst'' and ''Plinketto'' often have some fascinating selections that inevitably don't get chosen by the random draw, leaving the viewer to wonder what little gem is hiding behind such awesome(ly bad) cover art. And since many of them are highly-obscure [=VHS=] tapes which are long since out-of-print, the viewer will likely ''keep'' wondering.
** At least one episode was abandoned because the cast had nothing to say about any of the videos.
* WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings:
** The message board was unlinked in 2014 due to viewer abuse. The board is now only populated with longtime viewers who saved the URL, and a new Tapatalk board replaced it in late 2017.
