1	* Lots of references are made to other classic fairy tale characters, their stories, and nursery rhymes.
2	** Literature/{{Rumpelstiltskin}}: Flippers says upon seeing the Wolf, "I remember you! Three years ago on the Stiltskin case: you were snooping around for a lead on his real name." The Wolf matter-of-factly says, "I was close too. I was gonna go with Greg. Greg Stiltskin."
3	** The Muffin Man: Never seen on-screen, but when Red runs into Boingo during her bike ride, he sadly states that his employer - the Muffin Man - was shut down last night by the Goodie Bandit. Also, when the Wolf's story begins, there's a quick shot of Boingo in the store holding a muffin tray out to a disguised Wolf during his investigation montage.
4	** Little Bo Peep: When the Wolf interviews his informant Woolworth, Woolworth describes Red as a "sweet gal, not like that Bo Peep. That brat put up an invisible fence, I tasted metal fillings for a week!"
5	** "Over the River and Through the Wood": When the Wolf and Twitchy have their encounter with Boingo, Boingo says he knows a shortcut to Granny's house. He quotes the song title, only he transposes the nouns - he says, "You go over the woods and through the river....No, you don't want to go through the river. You'll get all wet." Cut to the Wolf and Twitchy in a flooded tunnel.* Granny seemingly appearing as an ethereal vision and saying "[[Film/ANewHope Use the hood, Red]]!"
6	* ''Franchise/StarWars'':
7	** The "USE THE HOOD!!" moment when Granny appears to Red references [[Film/ANewHope "Use the force"]].
8	** The scene where Twitchy and the Wolf fall into a hole while in the cave, and all you can see of Twitchy is his camera light, is similar to Luke and [=R2D2=]'s arrival on Dagobah in ''Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack''.
9	* The Wolf says he will get Red, "[[Film/TheWizardOfOz and her little Granny too]]!"
10	* Granny's identity is [[Film/XXx Triple G]], complete with tattoo - because she has three strikes against her, of course.
11	* Dolph seems like an expy of [[Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger Ahnold]] and says of Granny: "[[Film/TheTerminator She'll be back]]".
12	* When Twitchy is running interference with the cops, one of Stork's attempts to figure out what's wrong is "[[Series/{{Lassie}} Timmy's stuck in the well]]!"
13	* Wolf dresses like, speaks like, uses the ''same exact disguises'' as, and even has the same ThemeSong, as [[Film/{{Fletch}} Irwin Fletcher]].
14	* Twitchy reads the print on the side of a stick of dynamite: [[Film/AChristmasStory "DEE-NA-MEE-TAY. Hmm, must be Italian"]].
15	* The scene where the Wolf questions Woolworth is a homage to ''Film/TheNakedGun''. It even directly lifts some of its dialogue.
16	* The Wolf knocking on Granny's door and identifies himself with "candygram" in the same way the Land Shark did in the ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' skit. Also a possible reference to the "Candygram for Mongo" scene in ''Film/BlazingSaddles''.
17	* The sign over Japeth's shack reads '''Pecos Mining Co.''', a clear reference to the mythical American cowboy Pecos Bill.
18	* ''Film/SongOfTheSouth'' is referenced in the hummingbirds who appear in "Great Big World".
19	* Many of the scenes in the cable car (Red's aborted ride up and also the life-and-death finale) nod to the German war film ''Film/WhereEaglesDare''.
20	* Boingo says, "But I'm top of the woods now, baby!" which is a take on James Cagney's line "Made it, Ma! Top of the world!" in ''Film/WhiteHeat''.
21	* Red's fight with Boingo in the cable car loading dock is reminiscent of the training sequence between Neo and Morpheus in ''Film/TheMatrix''. Especially with green monitors in the background.
22	* There is reference to ''Film/SaturdayNightFever'' during "Tree Critter" prior to the ski race.
23	* The song "Critters Have Feelings" references Music/TheCars.
