1	* ''Film/GIJoeRetaliation'': Of 9 months from June 2012 to March 2013, so the film could be converted to 3D & more scenes could be shot with Channing Tatum, after the main complaints from test screenings were that the film wasn't going to be in 3D and audiences weren't happy with how little time was spent on the development of the relationship between Duke & Roadblock before [[spoiler:Duke's death]]. It was also anounced a month before the films release, and roughly a week before the toys were due to be released.
2	* Fans were waiting for nearly ''eight years'' for a sequel to Robert Rodriguez's ''Film/SinCity'', and it wasn't until 2012 that the sequel finally entered production, and it was released in late 2014.
3	* A minor slip happened with the DVD debut of ''Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay'' (originally scheduled to be released on none other than Judgment Day itself), perhaps owing to the fact that it was literally a revolutionary disc, being the very first dual-layer DVD on the market, and there may have been a few bugs to work out that took a bit longer than anticipated.
4	* Creator/JohnGrisham's ''The Gingerbread Man'', originally set for release in September 1997 as the debut release of [[Creator/PolyGramFilmedEntertainment PolyGram Films]], was delayed to January 1998 due to a dispute between [=PolyGram=] and director Creator/RobertAltman over the way the film was edited. [=PolyGram=] ultimately gave in after their cut was trashed at test screenings.
5	* The ''Film/{{Sonic the Hedgehog\|2020}}'' movie was originally supposed to be released in November 2019. However, overwhelmingly negative fan reactions to Sonic's [[SpecialEffectsFailure shoddy CGI design]] led to it being pushed back to February 2020 in order to give the filmmakers time to redesign Sonic to look closer to his game appearance.
6	* An animated case was ''Westernanimation/HotelTransylvaniaTransformania'', which already was a victim of many {{Release Date Change}}s due to the Usefulnotes/COVID19Pandemic and Prime Video purchasing the distribution rights, only for the scheduled release on October 1, 2021 to go without the movie, and only nearly a week later it was announced the movie would only come out in January.
7	* ''Film/{{Avatar}}'', released in 2009, set box-office records for its massive advances in CGI, including revolutionary new ways of creating SerkisFolk, real-time background rendering allowing director Creator/JamesCameron to pre-visualize his finished shots on the spot, and actually effective use of 3D glasses. Cameron immediately announced he was working on two sequels, with the first to be released in 2014. But because his vision required ''even more'' new technology, filming didn't even start until 2017. ''Film/AvatarTheWayOfWater'' finally hit the silver screen in 2022. In its defense, it duplicated the original's feat of making $2 billion at the box office, something only four other films have ever accomplished.
8	** Six months after the the release of ''Film/AvatarTheWayOfWater'' it was announced that the third, fourth and fifth movies would be delayed as well: originally intended to have two-year gaps between them (for release dates of 2024, 2026 and 2028) this would be extended to three-year gaps (making release dates of 2025, 2028 and 2031). Note that the third movie and a pre-TimeSkip segment of the fourth were filmed concurrently with the second movie, meaning that some of that footage wouldn't see release until up to ''eleven years'' later.
