8	It is said that for the gods all of history is but a moment.

10	Silam, the last city of the ancient Arkanian empire fell after an attack made by Lostar, the king of Manlo. Lostar took control over the city to obtain calantio, the strongest mineral on the planet only found on Silam. Before fighting a losing battle against Lostar, the king sent his children Nilo and Lea to escape with one of the two ''Sam'' swords made of calantio; after losing, Lostar takes the king's sword as prize alongside the queen, Nisa.

12	Lostar soon releases an evil entity named Yoshamaat, who destroys what's left of Silam. In the destruction, Nilo perishes while escaping, leaving Lea completely alone with nothing but the ''Sam'' sword. Wandering around beyond Silam ruins, Lea finds a golden dragon drinking on a lake; thinking it was the monster responsible for destroying her homeland, Lea tries to kill it in revenge, but unexpectedly ended up helping it, as the dragon was being attacked by a Gogron. The two kill the monster, and introducing himself as Zargón, a grateful dragon promises her it will not hurt her, taking her to his home, Antok.

14	In the land of the dragons, nobody trusted Lea, much less Nirig-Naa, the Red King. The girl and the king came to an agreement: his kind would deliver the girl to the humans to safety if she tells them where the calantio mines are. Lea refuses, and instead asks to be made a Dragún, a warrior trained by the dragons, in order to obtain revenge. The king refuses, based on the previous dragún Burami (Lea's ancestor) who betrayed them and hunted them down. Lea swears she will clean her family name. The king accepts, and Zagór becomes Lea's master.

16	Zagór introduces four masters to Lea to become a Dragún: Fingri and Karir, from the house of Ruzgal;Ógramon, from the high house of Dagu; and Vu-tragen-Naa from the house of Kinyaren. Many years happen, as Lea is trained by the dragons.

21	Ten years later, 20 years old Lea is ready for her final test to become a Dragún. Waiting for her final lesson, she goes inside the caves of Antok following a mysterious song and accidentally watches a dragon being born. Angered, a dragon named Tanra-Naa fights her and she has no other choice but to defend herself with her sword. This angers the dragons, who decide to judge her for either exile or execution. In her cage, Lea is given over a potion that she must take in the following 8 days, but she takes it all in one day. During the trial, Nirig-Naa decides to allow Lea to fight the Vlaken on a suicide mission in the former home of the dragons, Xinji.

24	* AncestralWeapon: The ''Sam'' swords are Silam's treasure. Made from calantio by Burami hundred of years ago, they became a sacred element of Silam's culture. When Lostar attacks the kingdom and kills the king, he takes one of them as its prize; the other is owned by Lea, as it was given by her father in order to escape the masacre.
25	* AnyoneCanDie: Many named characters die during the course of the book. The only character that survives all these events is Lea, who with the exception of [[spoiler: Zágor]], treat them all as {{Forgotten Fallen Friend}}s
26	* {{Bifauxnen}}: Lea is confused for a man by the great priest of the winds Mirima and many others, and she plays along by using the name of her brother. The narration makes it clear that she is quite pretty.

That Nilo looked like one of those men. 28	* GodOfEvil: Yoshamaat, an evil entity summoned by Lostar to destroy Silam.
29	* HeroOfAnotherStory: Burami the Dragon' Shield, an ancestor of Lea first mentioned in chapter 3. He was a Dragún in life, trained by Nirig-Naa, that after being surrounded by invaders from the Nastar's tribe, he asked help to the dragons, but they refused based on their honor conduct. After this event, Burami betrayed the dragons hunting them down. He is the protagonist of the prequel titled ''Burami and the red king''.
30	* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Dragons are enormous creatures that can live centuries, and the ones capable of speaking are considered a legend. Zargón is described as a combination of avian and reptile features, having wings, while many others dragons from Antok are described as simple lizards with horns, or creatures with wings of flies, buttlerflies and bats.
31	* OurMonstersAreDifferent: There are many types of mystical creatures in ''Dragún'' beyond the dragons.
32	** The Gogron, an insectoid-like monster, smaller in size to a dragon but equal in strength. Described as a shining and gray creature looking like a scarab with enormous legs and a shell filled with spines, but with a mouth with an innumerable amount of teeth and tongs. It had four white eyes, a horn coming out of its forehead and a strange green slime coming out of his mouth. Its omnivorous in nature, and a natural enemy to dragons.
