''1: This "re-imagining" definition comes from the summary of the trope on the page of DiscardAndDraw. It is unclear if it is intended to be a part of the description of RePower, due to the trope's poor description.''

** RePower: Happens to a player when [[spoiler:Heroic Sacrifice]] (''Crisis 2'') takes effect or when one plays Superboy Prime (''Teen Titans'').

* Characters.TheDeathMageWhoDoesntWantAFourthTimeTalosheim (Power Altered)
** RePower: As Legion, they can't or don't make use of many of the abilities they had as the Eighth Guidance because they're useless, too limited or highly impractical given their form. Instead, they use basic magic attacks and certain types of flesh based combat.

* VideoGame.NexusWar (Temporarily Powerless)
** {{Repower}}: Since the universe periodically [[EternalRecurrence reboots]], characters start back at level one and it's entirely possible to pick a completely different skill tree.

* WesternAnimation.SonicUnderground (Reimagination)
** RePower: Famously super fast, Sonic gets ThePowerOfRock.

* Characters.DateALiveMainCharacterAndSpirits (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler: By each grabbing one of Beast's swords, the Spirits are able to regain their powers]].

* ImmuneToMindControl (Power Altered)
** ComicBook/EmmaFrost's [[RePower secondary mutation]] gives her an organic diamond form. While it prevents her from using her own telepathy, it renders her immune to anyone else's.

* Recap.Charmed2018S2E4DeconstructingHarry (Power Altered)
** RePower: Maggie's got a new power: Foresight, the same power Phoebe started out with in the original series.

* Characters.MarvelComicsPsylocke (Power Altered)
** AbsurdlySharpBlade: At first her psychic blade was only able to fry the brains of her foes, not any matter. After a RePower that made her powers telekinetic instead of telepathic, it went from a wedge-shaped field of KirbyDots to a detailed energy katana that could function as a blade that could slice through anything (yet still have its [[SetSwordsToStun stunning/psychic effects]] if it hit flesh and blood).

* Supergirl.TropesRToS (ZCE)
** RePower: Post-Crisis Linda Danvers' powers changed constantly.

* GlobalGuardiansPBEMUniverse.TropesQToZ (Power Altered)
** RePower: Pico, a member of the Denver Defenders, was originally a shrinking hero in the mold of DC's Atom. He later somehow gained [[FlyingBrick superhuman strength, invulnerability, and the ability to fly]], though only while shrunk down to a few inches tall.

* Characters.DCAMUTeenTitans (Power Altered)
** NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Almost overlapping with RePower; something about being exposed to the energies in Trigon's hellish realm triggers what a Marvelverse mutant would call a "secondary mutation", allowing him to transform at will into various demonic-looking monsters as well as animals.

* Characters.{{Sonichu}} (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: According to the author, Megan was stripped of her Sailor Soldier powers some time after the events of Sonichu #10. Years later, Megan had recently gained new powers as "CPU Red Heart", but has not been seen in action yet.
** RePower: In Sonichu #10, Naitsirhc lost his medallion and powers after being injected with the "Gay Vaccine" and reverted back into his original form before he became "Reldnahc". In Sonichu #12, he regained his Black Sonichu Medallion, his Reldnahc form and his powers thanks to Count Graduon.

* Characters.SupergirlTheCharacter (ZCE)

* Characters.CerberusEngineGames (ZCE)
** RePower

* ComicBook.XMen (Power Altered)
** RePower: This actually has an InUniverse term; "Secondary Mutation". In effect, any given mutant may potentially, in the right circumstances, develop one or more entirely new powers. This may alter, replace or add to original powers. For two of the most iconic example, Beast's transformation from "somewhat ape-like man" to "talking gorilla" to "ape-cat" over the years as his powers have strengthened, and Emma Frost's developing the ability to assume a crystaline "diamond form" that makes her {{Nigh Invulnerab|ility}}le and gives her SuperStrength at the cost of being unable to access her psychic powers in that form.

* PoweredArmor (Temporarily Powerless)
** ComicBook/{{Jubilee|MarvelComics}} and several other depowered mutants started wearing powered armor to [[RePower compensate]] for their [[BroughtDownToNormal lost abilities]] in the latest incarnation of the ComicBook/NewWarriors.

* ComicBook.KingdomCome (Reimagination)
** {{Repower}}: Lots of the Golden Agers get big power boosts as Waid draws their abilities to the logical conclusion. Especially ComicBook/TheFlash, who has become one with the Speed Force and now exists as a living blur in constant, never-ending motion.
*** Superman's power level in general is boosted and he becomes immune to kryptonite due to all those years soaking up the sun. And in the {{Novelization}}, in the end Superman becomes immune to ''magic'' because he realizes its fundamental paradox.
*** Alan Scott (a Green Lantern) has fused his power battery into his chest. Unlike Superman, however, he still retains his original weakness - [[WeaksauceWeakness to wood]]. While he's effectively invincible otherwise, [[ComicBook/GreenArrow Oliver Queen]] is able to punch right through his PoweredArmor with regular arrows. [[spoiler: On the other hand, Alan survives the nuke while Oliver doesn't.]]
*** Batman uses powered armor and keeps his city safe with robotic drones. This one overlaps with DisabilitySuperpower: Batman has taken so many beatings over the years, his body has said "so long" and pretty much given up. He is dependent on an exoskeleton to be able to ''walk'', and covering that in armor wasn't a big step.
*** Doctor Mid-Nite (now called simply "Midnight"), who once used smoke bombs, now exists as a living smoke cloud that fills out his costume's cape.
*** Garfield Logan -- once called "Beast Boy" and "Changeling", now called "Menagerie" -- can only shapeshift into fictitious creatures, such as the Jabberwock from Lewis Carroll's ''Through the Looking Glass''.
*** Doctor Fate, now called Fate V, is now merely the helmet and cape, having gained sentience from the many hosts it has used.

* Characters.LegionOfSuperHeroesSilverAge (Power Altered)
** RePower: When she joined, her powers had been deliberately altered into gravity nullification by Dream Girl so that she could stay on the team with her brother. Later, she regained her lightning.

* Characters.{{Raishon}} (Power Altered)
** {{Repower}} - [[{{StarPower}} Zodiac Empowerment]] means that his power constantly changes.

* WantedASonInstead (Temporarily Powerless)
** ''Manga/AyakashiTriangle'': After Matsuri [[GenderBender is changed from male to female]], his mother Matoi is actually quite pleased, mostly because she loves [[StrongFamilyResemblance how much her child suddenly looks like her]]. Matoi even questions if changing Matsuri back is worth {{Repower}}ing the ayakashi who changed him in the first place. Although it's ambiguous how much Matoi genuinely prefers having a daughter versus possessively trying to separate him from his ChildhoodFriend who's the key to making him male again.

* WhoWantsToLiveForever.ComicBooks (Power Altered)
** [[Franchise/TheDCU DC Comics']] Multi-Man is "sort of" immortal. Any time he is killed, he comes back to life with a [[{{Repower}} new super power]]. It's never explicitly stated whether or not this can happen throughout eternity, or if he will otherwise have an ordinary lifespan. Other super villains frequently take advantage of this, killing him repeatedly until they get a power they want, most notably [[spoiler:The Joker during the ''Last Laugh'']] and [[spoiler:Shilo Norman]]. Needless to say, Multi-Man is pretty traumatized by his power.

* OurVampiresAreDifferent.ComicBooks (Power Altered)
** ComicBook/{{Blade}}'s {{Dhampyr}} birth made him immune to being turned by every type in the sample but he was eventually bitten by Michael Morbius, a science-created vampire instead of a supernatural one, and his [[RePower powers have changed some]]. Spitfire's vampire turn was mostly rejected and the few traits she has are suppressed, they come out [[GameFace when she's angry]].

* WesternAnimation.StevenUniverseTheMovie (Unclear)
** {{Aesoptinum}}: For Steven, the "missing piece" he needs to [[RePower recover from the rejuvenator]] is to get rid of the mindset he'd gotten into of trying to make his life suddenly stop at an arbitrary point he's comfortable with.

* Characters.ShinHyakujiHighSchool (Power Altered)
** RePower: Originally wields technology based armor, but later on gained one of mystical origin.

* Characters.WithThisRingVillains (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler:Swamp Thing gives her a more stable connection to the Green in ''Bindings''.]]

* Fanfic.ThisGoddessMustBeCrazy (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler: King Kai]] gives All Might back his full strength plus a little extra.

* MisappliedPhlebotinum (Unclear)
** Simon "ComicBook/WonderMan" Williams, a {{Nigh Invulnerab|ility}}le FlyingBrick ([[RePower usually]]) earned a living as an actor, especially in action movies, performing the kinds of stunts most crash test dummies wouldn't survive.

* Recap.TheLegendOfKorraS2E6TheSting (Temporarily Powerless)
** {{Repower}}: Defied. Korra apparently chose to not restore the bending of the de-bended triad members. For obvious reasons, they deserved that fate.

* BroughtDownToNormal (Temporarily Powerless)
** In ''Comicbook/{{PS238}}'' this seemingly happens to [[spoiler:Ron/Captain Clarinet]], though afterwards he gets {{Re Power}}ed instead. It turns out that [[TheMedic Nurse Newby]] actually runs [[TropaholicsAnonymous a support group]] for [[DifferentlyPoweredIndividuals metahumans]] with this issue; Tyler's parents make him attend too, despite him actually having [[MuggleBornOfMages a different problem]].

* OlderThanTheyThink.ComicBooks (Reimagination)
** Whilst fans complained that the RePower ComicBook/SpiderMan underwent to give him organic webshooters was based on the Creator/SamRaimi Film/SpiderManTrilogy (and the WolverineClaws were [[AudienceAlienatingEra just an all-around terrible idea]]), the truth is that the idea of a Spider-Man with organic webbing (''and'' claws!) was first used in the original ''ComicBook/SpiderMan2099''.

* Characters.ShiningResonance (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler:After Georg drains the Shining Dragon's energy, Jinas restores it at the sight of Deus' seal via tricking Yuma into [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice stabbing him]] so he can give him the collected energies of the World Dragon souls he obtained over the course of the game, restoring access to Yuma's Shining Dragon form]].

* Characters.WildCards (Power Altered)
** {{Repower}}: Stays awake for about a week, sleeps for a month, wakes up with new powers - and a new appearance - every time. Since there's a very real chance of him waking up dead from this, it's also SuperpowerRussianRoulette.

* Characters.XFactor (Temporarily Powerless)
** WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler: In Tryp the Eldest's timeline, X-Factor was able to RePower the Mutants who lost their powers during M-Day. Unfortunately, the Mutants used their powers to wipe out humanity and then turned on each other with no one else to conquer. Tryp the Eldest's goal is to prevent this from happening.]]

* Fanfic.WinterWar (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler: Jirobou Ikkanzaka, Jidanbou’s little brother, who lost his powers to Ishida in canon]] voluntarily underwent hollowfication to gain new abilities. There's also [[spoiler: Grimmjow, who loses his hollow powers when Orihime "purifies" him and gains shinigami ones instead.]]

* Characters.KamenRiderWizardProtagonists (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler:In ''Film/KamenRiderXKamenRiderGaimAndWizardTheFatefulSengokuMovieBattle'', he recaptures Chimera offscreen and becomes Beast again.]]

* FirstLawOfGenderBending (Temporarily Powerless)
** ''Manga/AyakashiTriangle'' begins with the evil spirit Shirogane turning Matsuri female just before [[BroughtDownToNormal having most of his power sealed away]]. The only one who can turn Matsuri back is Shirogane himself, and only if his powers are restored. Obviously, Matsuri doesn't want to empower a monster that tried to eat his friend Suzu, especially when [[ItOnlyWorksOnce he can't seal his power away a second time]]. Personally, Matsuri would rather just exorcise Shirogane and accept that he won't change back. Suzu objects, and together they embark on the rather difficult task of reforming Shirogane so he'll willing make Matsuri male and not harm humans any more. Later on, Suzu discovers she could potentially restore him under her own power, but it's far beyond anything she can do now. [[spoiler:Shirogane ends up befriending Suzu relatively quickly, but loses his power [[DePower permanently]] [[YankTheDogsChain right before he may have changed Matsuri back]]. After that, their best bet is for Suzu to learn to RePower Shirogane, with no idea if or when she'll be able to.]]

** RePower: [[spoiler:Tsukuyomi becoming a Kamen Rider returns her time powers that Swartz stole.]]

* ComicBook.VenomMikeCosta (Temporarily Powerless & Power Altered)
** RePower:
*** Flash Thompson was stripped of the Venom symbiote by the FBI and tracked it down to Eddie Brock. Unable to choose between its two favorite hosts, the symbiote tried to bond to both of them at the same time. When Spider-Man tried to kill the symbiote by dousing them in a serum derived from the Anti-Venom symbiote, this turned the half of the Venom symbiote that had bonded to Flash into a replica of the Anti-Venom symbiote.
*** Lee Price lost the Venom symbiote at the end of ''Venom'' Vol. 3, but after getting out of jail he beat the snot out of Mania to steal her symbiote and become Maniac.
*** Lee Price infected Mac Gargan with part of the Maniac symbiote to see what it would do to the remnants of the Venom symbiote inside him, transforming the Scorpion into Ven-orpion.

* VideoGame.MarvelVsCapcom (Power Altered)
** ComicBook/{{Magneto}}: Capcom pretty much gathered every single power (except PsychicPowers) Magneto has ever had since his debut, so yeah, in the hands of [[DependingOnTheWriter some writers]] the Master of Magnetism indeed ''was'' capable of creating [[BarrierWarrior Force Fields]] that were not limited to deflecting just metal; attacking with [[KamehameHadoken Beams]] and [[KiManipulation Energy Blasts]] that were said to be just a [[RePower Second Mutation]] of his already powerful control over magnetism. Simply put, Magneto isn't shown to have all these powers in the [[AlternateContinuity same continuity]].

* Recap.SupernaturalS15E11TheGamblers (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: The boys get their PlotArmor back by the end of the episode.

* ComicBook.{{Thunderbolts}} (Power Altered)
** Photon. Having just ended a period as a RealityWarper with [[AGodAmI a god complex]], he was given a {{Repower}} that simultaneously drew power from the beginning and end of time; if left unchecked, his powers would have destroyed the universe. He begged Zemo to let him live long enough that he could use his Cosmic Awareness to find a timeline in which the universe survived, but Zemo deemed him too much of a threat to take that risk.

* VideoGame.ShantaeAndThePiratesCurse (Temporarily Powerless)
** RePower: [[spoiler:In the GoldenEnding, Shantae's genie magic is restored.]]

* Characters.AGameOfGodsInfinitiesChampions (ZCE)
** {{Repower}}: As Rey's powers have been slowly changing over time.

* WesternAnimation.TheBatman (Power Altered)
** RePower: When Sinestro visits Gotham to hunt down Hal Jordan and steal his Power Ring, the nearly-depleted ring eventually winds up on the hand of ''Batman.'' The moment was brief, but it's as good as it sounds.

* PokeInTheThirdEye (Reimagination)
** ''ComicBook/KingdomCome'': The Spectre has Norman [=McCay=] as an ethereal observer to all of the events of the comic. However, The Flash's RePower allows him to ''see'' Norman, and he plucks him into the "real" world, which leads to a confrontation with Superman. It's hinted that Spectre may have ''allowed'' Flash to do this so Norm would impart a specific prophecy to him.

* ComicBook.XFactor2006 (Temporarily Powerless)
** DePower: A substantial part of the early run deals with the aftermath of the decimation, where most of the mutant population lost their power, most notably Rictor who is the only member of the team with no powers (At least until Wanda [[RePower gives him his powers back]] in ComicBook/AvengersTheChildrensCrusade).

* WesternAnimation.StaticShock (Temporarily Powerless)
** EatingTheEnemy: In the series finale, Ebon and Hot Streak, in all their quarreling, create a new Big Bang explosion which [[{{Repower}} gives them and Virgil and Ritchie's powers back.]] [[spoiler: However, in the case of Ebon and Hotstreak, it [[GoneHorriblyRight works too well]] as the two fighting so close to the explosion causes their powers to meld together, ultimately [[FusionDance fusing the two]] into a big fiery, shadowy EldritchAbomination. The monster catches and tries to eat Gear but, Static is able to free him. Then the monster's stomach turns into a suction vortex. Before they can get sucked in, Static is able to throw an oil tank into the portal and blow the beast up.]]

* Fanfic.SonicWorldAdventureRush (Reimagination)
** {{Repower}}: Espio the Chameleon gained slightly more chameleon-like abilities, and his clothing can't turn invisible with him anymore.

* Characters.SymphogearSymphogearWielders (Power Altered)
** RePower: She loses Gungnir to Hibiki, but had kept what was left of Serena's relic as a keepsake, giving her a new white-and-silver costume with a sword-based Armed Gear. It breaks after one use, but lasts long enough to give her something to use during the final battle. She then gets it back for permanent use with the help of Elfnein.
