The Remade were once ordinary people, until experiments were performed on them which fundamentally broke their soul and left them with a shattered sense of identity. Having escaped from their creators, the Remade seek to hold on to what shreds of their humanity remain while fighting off the various groups that wish to capture and use them. The Remade are categorized by Origin and Clade. Origin refers to how the Remade was made divergent, while Clade refers to how the powers they've been given manifest.
----
* BodyHorror: One of the most common and recognizable side effects of their powers. Often, the result of their Divergence is not easy on the eyes
* DamagedSoul: The true source of all Remade's abilities. The experiments they were subjected to were so traumatic that it broke their soul and damaged their humanity. This is also why the more powerful they become, the crazier they get.
* SoulPower: A rather strange variation of this. Rather than their power just coming from their soul, it comes from their soul being broken by their Divergence
* WasOnceAMan: Or even an animal, until being experimented on made them something far different.
* PlayingWithSyringes: A very common origin story for them regardless of what Origin they have, aside from Genotypicals

!Origins

Also known as the Elect, these are the people who knew exactly (or at least mostly) what being Remade would entail, often already being a member of the Conspiracy that did the surgery. Unsurprisingly, most Elect are Devoted rather than Renegade, and the ones that do rebel have to earn their fellow's trust.
----
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: More than one volunteered out of a IJustWantToBeSpecial desire to gain usual abilities.
* HeelFaceTurn: Many of them start out working for a Conspiracy, whether due to already being a member or personal gain, but eventually decide to turn against their Conspiracy and become Renegade
* ProfessorGuineaPig: It's not uncommon for an Autourgic to be their own Progenitor.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Because they were the only Deviants who both willingly signed on for the Divergence and were fully aware of what it would do, Autourgic Renegades generally aren't trusted by other Remade.

Also known as the Volunteers, these people were convinced be Remade through threats or promises made by a conspiracy... often without being properly informed of just what they were agreeing to.
----
* NotWhatISignedUpFor: Just because an Epimorph volunteers doesn't mean they know what they are getting into until after being Remade.
* PunchClockVillain: Devoted Epimorphs, unlike Autourgic, serve their conspiracy because they receive some kind of benefit from it, not out of loyalty.

Also known as the Unwilling, these Remade were never given a say in what happened to them, having been abducted, threatened, or exposed without their knowledge. Unsurprisingly, Exomorphs go Renegade as soon as they can and frequently make getting revenge a top priority.
----
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: One of the typical motivations of the average Exomorph.
* UnwittingTestSubject: It's perfectly possible for an Exomorph to have been tricked into being a test subject rather than just flat-out kidnapped.

Also known as the Born, for whom their powers are something which has been a part of them from birth, either because their parents are Remade, they possess some strange genetic trait, or a distant ancestor was experimented on. They tend to have the most diverse outlooks on both being Remade and on the various Conspiracies.
----
* RaisedInALab: A rather common origin story for them
* SuperpowerfulGenetics: The source of their abilities, which can be any variant of Types 1-3 and 5.

Also known as the Accidents, these people are victims of pure circumstance. Unlike other origins, Pathological were never turned into Remade intentionally, but because something happened completely by accident.
----
* FreakLabAccident: A common way Pathologicals get Remade.

!Clades

Also known as Psychics, their Divergence manifests as being able to manipulate the world around them through sheer willpower.
----
* MindOverMatter: A common expression of this Clade's powers.
* PsychicPower: As the Clade's alternative name makes clear.
* Telepathy: An ability many Cephalists have

Also known as Hybrids, these Remade's Divergence causes them to combine with foreign flesh, be it animal, plant, parasite, or something far different.
----
* BeastMan: A potential way for a Chimeric to look, especially if their form is one reminiscent of a predatory animal such as a wolf or bear or even a combination of multiple animals
* LittleBitBeastly: How the more stable Chimeric tend to appear.
* TotallyNotAWerewolf: Due to their animalistic visage, it's very possible for a Chimeric Deviant to resemble another type of supernatural creature such as a Werewolf or Vampire, possibly even taking on some of their other traits such as drinking blood

Also known as Infused, these Remade have fused with some kind of outside energy during their Divergence, which they can then wield against others.
----
* PowerIncontinence: Many Coactives have difficulty fully controlling their abilities.

Also known as Cyborgs, their Divergence involved incorporating some sort of inanimate matter into their flesh, whether it be a gadget, an artifact, or an O-Part.
----
* Cyborg: As their alternative name suggests. However, their implant doesn't have to be technological in nature, it could be tekcal, alien, or something else entirely.
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: Given the state of the Deviant soul and the fact that the souls of Invasives got that way because of their cybernetics, this definitely applies.

Also known as Grotesques, during their Divergence, something within the very cells of these Remade rebelled against whatever was being used to rob them of their humanity. Sadly, this act still results in them being Remade, just in the opposite way a Progenitor meant them to.
----
* AdaptiveAbility: A common manifestation of this Clade.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: While the process of being Remade was technically successful, it's jsut that the result is opposite of what the Pregenitor intended.

----

!Conspiracies
* AncientConspiracy: Individually, it's perfectly possible for Conspiracies to be extremely ancient and powerful in whatever form they come in. Subverted with the Web of Pain; it may seem like a vast, seemingly immortal organization, but in reality, it's really more of a phenomenon; conspiracies that share interests inevitably come into contact with each other and many come to an agreement or at least a non-aggression pact. Behind the scenes, many nodes of the Web loathe each other and only work together out of shared interest, assuming they just didn't bumble into the same goals.

* TheConspiracy: Naturally, though how that manifests will depend on the Storyteller. A conspiracy could consists of mysterious agents working for the government, a powerful corporation who created the Deviant and are trying to reclaim their "property," a cult who believes the targeted Deviant will herald the End Times, or even a BenevolentConspiracy who hounds the party because they're too dangerous to roam around unchecked.
* CreateYourOwnHero: The default assumption is that the conspiracy, or a member of the conspiracy, is directly responsible for the creation of the Deviant.
