Bykov accuses Lobanov of using Olga's pregnancy as excuse to avoid doing work. But then he learns something even more interesting: Olga currently doesn't even work here, temporarily leaving to visit her relatives! And today is an important soccer match, which is clearly the main reason why Semyon wants to leave early. Olga returns earlier than expected, and Bykov, who tried to bust Semyon watching the match, ignores his warning about Olga being in the shower, and accidentally enters in inappropriate time. Bykov tells Lobanov that in the future, when Olga needs something, she must ask Bykov herself, because, unlike Semyon, Bykov at least can trust her.

Varya tries to match Phil with her friend. The friend quickly grows to regret participating when Phil annoys her to no end by asking what to do ''on every single little thing he can think of''. As Phil reveals, he's extremely nervous due to having very bad record with dating people in the past, and is afraid to botch yet another attempt. He even asks Varya to go with him to "support" him (she would sit nearby and control the situation), to which she reluctantly agrees. The date goes disastrously, and Varya's friend just runs away: Phil became self-confident, but scared the girl by acting like a complete loon.

Gleb finds his mother being in rather sentimental mood due to her pregnancy; when he makes a joke about his poor living conditions, she forcefully gives him a big sum of money. Gleb mentions this to Kupitman, who immediately proceeds to exploit the situation in his favour. Gleb, meanwhile, regrets taking the money from his mother and tries to return them -- and fails, because she refuses to take them back and gives him even more. Kupitman realises that if he pretends to have conscience and give back what he took, she would give him even more; unknowingly to him, Bykov already told Kisegach to to not allow those "vultures" to exploit her, so she accepts Kupitman giving up the VIP ward... but refuses to give it back. Bykov confronts Gleb about exploiting his mother's pregnancy, to which Gleb replies that he just ''can't'' return those money: he already tried, and she not only refused, but gave him ''more'', due to him being "nice". When pressed, Gleb tries one last time -- by just giving money back and quickly leaving, giving her no time to refuse. This ''still'' fails, and Kisegach even rushes to ATM to take more money from it. Gleb gives up, but Bykov admits that he genuinely tried, and actually allows him to keep a part of it -- some of those money belonged to Bykov, after all.

!! This episode provides examples of:
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Phil's stories about his past life are ''very'' weird and childish -- not something you would mention during the date with a girl. This results in said girl [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere running away from him]]; Varya manages to convince her to give Phil a second chance, but once he starts talking, she ''immediately'' realises that she simply ''can't'', and leaves. Phil fails to see what he did wrong.
* CryingWolf: Since previously Lobanov lied about Olga being at home and needing his help, when Bykov learns that Olga actually leaved to visit her mother, he goes to Semyon's house to confront him, knowing that he would instead watch a soccer match. He ignores Semyon's warnings that Olga is in the shower, and enters on her; turns out that she returned earlier. Bykov tells Olga that if she would need Semyon's help at home again, she should ask Bykov first; Semyon is untrustworthy.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Gleb refuses to take money which Kisegach tries to give him [[PregnancyMakesYouCrazy during outburst of sentimentality]], because she wouldn't do so in other circumstances, and he does not want to exploit his mother like this. This provokes another outburst of sentimentality.
** {{Invoked|Trope}} by Lobanov when Bykov accuses him of using his pregnant (ex)wife as excuse to not doing his work -- that's just too gross. {{Subverted|Trope}} in that Lobanov really ''did'' use her as an excuse; more so, she is not even here to begin with (which was Bykov's actual reason to ask him: he already knows that Semyon lied to him and this was just Semyon's last chance to save some grace).
* GoneHorriblyRight: Phil is ''very'' [[NervousWreck nervous]] about upcoming date with Varya's friend, and asks Varya to go with him, so he would feel more self-confident. Phil indeed becomes confident -- and starts talking. Phil's weird stories about his life in the USA scares the girl enough for her to run from the restaurant.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Kupitman manages to exploit [[PregnancyMakesYouCrazy Kisegach's condition]] to receive the second VIP-ward. But then he learns that Gleb's attempts to refuse money from her resulted in him receiving even more, and decides to refuse that VIP-ward in hope that she would give him two instead. Unfortunately, by this point Bykov told her to not allow the other people to exploit her, so she accepts the ward back... but refuses to give Kupitman anything past it, and calls him out on his attempt to exploit her when he asks why she did not proceed to give him more.
* NervousWreck: Phil descends into completely neurotic state while preparing for his date. As he reveals to Varya when she manages to calm him down, he wasted so many dates in the past due to ''something'' going wrong, he fears to even try again: what if the next date would end in the same manner? He asks Varya to go with him, so he would feel more self-confident.
* PetTheDog: When Gleb proves that he really didn't try to exploit his mother's [[PregnancyMakesYouCrazy pregnancy-induced sentimentality]] for money -- she just can't take "no, I wouldn't accept those money" as an answer, Bykov allows him to take some money (that last time Kisegach run out of cash and took some from ATM): part of them belongs to Bykov anyway, so he has a right to do so.
* PregnancyMakesYouCrazy: Kisegach, due to her pregnancy:
** When Gleb (jokingly) mentions his new life in PerpetualPoverty (thanks to her cutting his money supply), she starts crying and forcefully gives him large sum of money. Kupitman, when he hears about this from Gleb, [[ItsAllAboutMe rushes to her in order to exploit the situation]].
** Gleb later returns the money, [[EveryoneHasStandards considering it to be unethical to exploit his mother's condition]], but this provokes another outburst of sentimentality and she (again, forcefully) gives him even more money.
** When Gleb just returns the money and leaves before his mother has the chance to try anything... she rushes to ATM to take money from it. At this point, Gleb just gives up, and allows Bykov to deal with the situation.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Varya's friend's reaction when she spent a whole hour near [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Phil]] (who just can't shut up about his life back in USA, which is extremely boring for her) is to rush out from the restaurant. Varya manages to convince her to give him another chance, but as soon as he opens his mouth again, she decides that it's too much to bear, and leaves for real.
* ShipperOnDeck: Varya tries to ship Phil with her friend, and even helps him preparing for a date; however, it quickly becomes apparent that [[NervousWreck something is clearly wrong with him]], creeping her out.
* TheSlacker: Bykov accuses Semyon of exploiting Olga's pregnancy as excuse to avoid doing work. In truth, Olga isn't even here; she leaved to her mother.
