When trying to stop The Amazing Mumbo, the Titans are sucked into his hat, stripped of their powers, and transformed into animals (except for Beast Boy, who is turned into a lamp since he can already turn into animals) who have goofy versions of their abilities. The Titans then have to think of another trick to defeat Mumbo before they disappear forever in the final act of Mumbo's Grand Show.
----
!! Tropes:
* Animorphism: The plot of the episode is four of the five Titans are turned into circus animals: Raven turns into a bunny, Robin turns into a monkey, Starfire turns into a cat, and Cyborg turns into a bear.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Despite being a genuine sorceress, Raven treats Mumbo's magic as nothing more than an elaborate smoke and mirrors trick you would expect from any StageMagician. This could just be a lack of respect for his type of craft specifically, his magic more cartoonish and flashy than the occult circles she traffics in.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology: Raven has paw pads and a hairless nose as a rabbit, which they lack in real life. Though, this can be excused in that she isn't actually a real rabbit.
* AscendedExtra: Mumbo went from being a one-shot villain in the b-plot of an earlier episode to this episode's main bad guy.
* BANGFlagGun: When Cyborg as a bear tries to use his sonic cannon, it turns out to be this.
-->Cyborg: Bang? Oh, dang.
* BatmanGambit: Raven pulls one on Mumbo, using his expectations that he was in full control against him, and escaping.
* BearyFunny: Cyborg spend the majority of the episode as a dancing bear in a tutu.
* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: The secret to the trick Raven used to help her and the Titans escape Mumbo’s hat seems be that she took advantage of her satirized powers to perform another cliche magic trick: the rabbit hat-trick. So Raven literally defeated Mumbo using one of TheOldestTricksInTheBook.
* BiggerOnTheInside: Mumbo's hat.
--> Cyborg: We're inside Mumbo's hat, and Raven is inside Mumbo's hat, inside Mumbo's hat?!
* ButtMonkey: Raven is one in this episode. She gets humiliated more than any of the other Titans.
* CessationOfExistence: Implied to be the fate Mumbo wanted to subject the Titans to.
-->Mumbo: Tonight, I will make the Titans disappear! Forever.
* ChainOfPeople: The Titans attempt this to stop Raven from getting sucked into the hat at the beginning of the episode, but it fails.
* EitherOrTitle: Both the episode itself and the title cards Mumbo uses throughout his act. The episode's full title is given as: "Bunny Raven... or ...How to Make A Titananimal Disappear".
* EurekaMoment: When Raven is ready to give up, realizing that everything that happens in Mumbo's world is real, whether it is a trick or not, she realizes that the Titans can pull off an even better trick of their own. So the Titans use the supplies they have to paint themselves to blend in with the background and make it look like they escaped, fooling Mumbo so he gets close enough for her to attack.
* FoldSpindleMutilation: Basically what happens to the Titans - including elephant!Beast Boy - after getting sucked into Mumbo's hat. Though it's downplayed since none of them are really hurt in any way in the process because of the hat's magical properties.
* ForcedTransformation: The entire premise of the episode is the Titans being turned into animals, except for Beast Boy who is turned into inanimate objects since he already has the ability to turn into animals.
* FourFingeredHands: The giant WhiteGloves inside of Mumbo's hat have these.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent:
** A civilain randomly fainting after Mumbo's head "explodes" in the pre-credits.
** When the Titans escapes from Mumbo's hat, Raven in the background can be seen pulling her hood down and feeling for "rabbit ears".
* GiveMeASign: Starfire ponders "Oh, if only there were a sign!" A massive marquee lights up proclaiming "The Amazing Mumbo and His New Assistant Raven".
-->Cyborg: That'll do.
* HumiliationConga: The entirety of Mumbo's show is this for the Titans, with him forcing them to perform.
* InvoluntaryDance: Cyborg is subjected to one.
* IronicEcho: When Raven is trying to get information out of Mumbo, he recites the Magician's Oath ("a magician never reveals his secrets"). After the Titans have defeated him, Mumbo asks Raven how they did it only to get the same line repeated back to him.
* IveHeardOfThatWhatIsIt: Starfire's response when Cyborg says Mumbo made him do a jig.
-->Starfire: That madman must be stopped! Please, what is a jig?
* LosingYourHead: Happens to both Mumbo and Raven during his performance, with Raven as the "assistant" who gets separated into three pieces.
--> Mumbo: My assistant (Raven) seems to have worried her head off!\
[drops his own head; fumbles a bit and puts Raven's cranium on his neck]
* MesACrowd: Mumbo manifests many Mumbo duplicates as his audience and stagehands. There's also puppets of himself.
* TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody:
** At one point, Starfire, who had turned into a tiger, goes after a ball of yarn thrown by one of Mumbo's minions.
** During Mumbo's show, Robin screeches and laughs like a monkey.
* MindScrew: Lampshaded by dialogue between Cyborg and Beast Boy, Raven is sucked inside Mumbo's hat while they're already inside Mumbo's hat. At the end when Raven breaks his spell him getting a closer look in her cage suddenly becomes him peeking into his hat.
-->Cyborg: Wait a minute... we're inside Mumbo's hat... and Raven's inside Mumbo's hat INSIDE Mumbo's hat!? GYAAAH!\
Beast Boy: Dude! You're making my brain hurt!
* MythologyGag: Starfire being turned into a cat (and possibly Robin being a monkey) is a reference to the fact that, though they're nearly human looking aliens, Tamaraneans are said to have evolved from their equivalent to felines in the comics.
* NeverSayDie: The words "death", "die", or "kill" are never used when addressing Mumbo's plan for the Titans.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: In Mumbo's first episode all of his powers came from his wand and having it broken left him a powerless old man. Here, he has a magic hat that he draws energy from and even losing it doesn't seem to completely de-power him given how he retains his empowered appearance.
* NoSell: Mumbo tries and fails to turn Beast Boy into an animal several times, since he can just turn back to normal thanks to his powers being that he already turns into animals. So Mumbo settles on turning him into inanimate objects, with his default mode being a lamp.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Mumbo's still on the comedic side, but this episode centers around him trapping our heroes in a PocketDimension, depowering them and threatening to permanently erase them from existence, so he raises the stakes surprisingly high.
* Objectshifting: Beast Boy, who's immune to Mumbo's attempts to shift him into an animal (see NoSell above) is instead turned into a variety of inanimate objects.
* ReflexiveResponse: Discussed by Raven.
-->Raven: You probably just hypnotized me into thinking I'm a rabbit, and when I get home my nose will twitch every time a bell rings.
* Parody: The powers of the Titanimals are this. Robin is a monkey with bananas instead of birdarangs, Starfire is a cat who cannot fly and coughs up hairballs instead of shooting starbolts, and Cyborg is a bear whose sonic cannon is now a BANGFlagGun. The exception is Beast Boy, whose shape-changing powers have been restricted to inanimate objects only (with limitations, since BB can't change into a jeep or a tank). While Raven in her bunny state can only perform cliched magic tricks like making flowers appear with classic magic words like “Abrakadabra” and later pulls herself out of Mumbo’s hat by saying “Alakazam”.
* Pun: While trapped, Robin tells the other Titans that they have to stop Mumbo before the finale "or it's curtains for us". A particularly ridiculous example since Robin is making a pun about their impending doom.
* ShellGame: A giant-sized Mumbo forces the restrained Beast Boy into one of these, with Robin, Starfire and Cyborg as the "pebbles" while Mumbo shuffles them. Beast Boy resorts to random guessing, but he's only "half"-correct - cue animorphism.
* ShortTitleLongElaborateSubtitle: "Bunny Raven... or ...How to Make A Titananimal Disappear"
* ShoutOut:
** Two of Mumbo's puppet duplicates in a balcony do a couple of skits similar to those of Statler and Waldorf of Series/TheMuppetShow. Likewise, Mumbo's puppet-esque stagehand hearkens to Scooter.
** There's a rather subtle nod to Disney when Mumbo tries transforming a restrained Beast Boy, firstly into a mouse, then a duck, and finally a dog who looks more like Goofy than a real-world dog .
** Beast Boy's response to Robin having actual birdarangs instead of bananas when they're back to normal is, "Yes! You have no bananas!", which is one word off from the song title by Louis Prima.
** “I DO NOT LIKE BEING A CAT IN THIS HAT!”
** More of a FreezeFrameBonus, but Mumbo's musical number ends with his head stretching into the stratosphere and for a split second (try playing that part in slow-motion), it turns out the Moon is Mumbo's head as well, with a shuttle embedded in the eye ala Film/ATripToTheMoon.
* TemptingFate: Beast Boy is able to change back from any animal Mumbo turns him into and boasts about how Mumbo can't transform him, so Mumbo turns him into an inanimate object.
* TookALevelInBadass: Mumbo seems a lot more powerful here than he was in "Sum of His Parts".
* TransformationConventions: Mumbo changes the Titans into animals; it kinda fits their fighting styles. Cyborg becomes a bear due to him being TheBigGuy and possessing a muscled physique; Starfire is changed into a tiger because she's not only inhumanly strong but more agile; Robin is a monkey by virtue of his acrobatics and flexibility during combat; and Raven becomes a bunny as the ironic transformation (she's TheStoic). As for Beast Boy who can already change into other animals? He gets changed into a lamp limiting his transformative abilities to inanimate objects.
* VillainSong: "Master of Your Fate."
* VisualPun
** One of Mumbo's stage hands in his hat flatters him, and he gets such a big head it bursts.
** Bunny Raven defeats Mumbo by pulling her foot outside of his hat. Get it?
* WidelySpacedJailBars: Robin's bars are clearly wide enough for him to escape. At times, Starfire and Raven's cages appear the same. Averted With Cyborg, who is too large, and Beast Boy, who can't move on his own.
* YourHeadAsplode: Mumbo's head blows up twice, both instances non-graphically and PlayedForLaughs. Firstly in the opening when Raven deflects one of his projectiles into his face (causing a civilain in the background to faint in shock) and later right before Mumbo's musical number.
