->''"If you take out my biological components, you take out the best part of me - the part that makes me who I am."''
-->--'''Cyborg'''

Cyborg's battery shuts down during a game of football. While he makes a new one, he tries to get by with a battery pack, but the shorter battery life of the pack shuts him down in the middle of a fight and get sucked into a trash heap, where he's picked up by Fixit, a robot who tries to make Cyborg fully robotic, removing his "faulty" parts--his human parts. Meanwhile, the Titans follow the villain they were fighting, The Amazing Mumbo, to try to find where Cyborg is. Finding that Mumbo had nothing to do with Cyborg's disappearance, they return to the dump, where Cyborg discovers that Fixit is also a cyborg, and convinces him not to make the "upgrades".

!!Tropes:

* AskAStupidQuestion: "Do I still have to go to jail?" Provided by Mumbo after the Titans realize he didn't kidnap Cyborg. They just stare at him.
* BaitAndSwitch: At the cookout, Starfire compliments the "tangy, yellow beverage" she's drinking, which implies it's lemonade. The boys then point out that she's drinking ''mustard''.
* BigNo: Cyborg lets out a series of them as Fixit covers his human face with a metal mask, planning to upgrade him into a full robot.
* BrainUploading: Fixit assures Cyborg that he will download Cyborg's memories and safely transfer them to his new, fully robotic body. Seeing the memories as he works is ehat convinces him that he was wrong to try and remove Cyborg's humanity.
* ChekhovsGun: Cyborg's memories of the lovely day in the park ends up making Fixit realize that he has lost his humanity and the ability to feel.
* ColorFailure: Justified; when Cyborg's battery gives out, the blue of his cybernetics turns grey, as does his red eye.
* ContinuityCameo: Cyborg's conversation with the little boy with a prosthetic is adapted from the exact scene in the comics.
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: Implied to have happened with Fixit, later inverted when seeing and feeling Cyborg's memories reminds him what it was like to be human.
* ADayInTheLimelight: For Cyborg.
* DefeatByModesty: Fixit's defeat plays off as this.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Fixit realizes that he has forgotten the good parts of being human, and decides that he is the one in need of repairs. He accepts Cyborg's offer of help for that, to be human properly again.
* EasilyForgiven: Cyborg offers Fixit assistance in regaining his humanity, after nearly facing a forced upgrading.
* FantasticLightSource: When the team (sans Cyborg) tries infiltrating Fixit's lair.
--> '''Robin''': Star, could you give us some light?\
[''cue Starfire using a starbolt as an improvised torch'']
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Mumbo
* MoodWhiplash: While this is a staple for the series, it really stands out here, where one is given the [[NightmareFuel chilling]] plotline of Cyborg losing his humanity alongside the comical plotline of the Titans chasing [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain Mumbo]].
* NoOntologicalInertia: When Mumbo's wand is broken, all his magics cease to exist, which is why the Titans realize he hasn't got Cyborg.
* NotMeThisTime: From Robin's point-of-view, it looks to him like Mumbo kidnapped Cyborg. The Titans spend the entire episode chasing the wrong villain! When they finally catch him and demand to know what he did with Cyborg, he has no idea what they're talking about.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: The kid that Cyborg meets in the beginning squees about how Cyborg is his favorite Titan because they both have prosthetics. Cyborg doesn't think much of it until the end, where he tells the kid they aren't so different because of what's inside them.
* OcularGushers: Mumbo's expression after Robin breaks his wand and strips him of his magic powers, moments before he reverts to a normal human.
* PetTheDog: Cyborg plays football with the kid that idolizes him at the end of the episode.
* PunctuatedForEmphasis:
-->'''Robin:''' ''(to Mumbo)'' Where. Is. Cyborg?
* SawAWomanInHalf: Mumbo, when his barrage of magic tricks turns deadly. He actually calls for a lovely assistant from the audience and yanks Starfire down with a cane. As he prepares to perform the "trick", he adds:
--> '''Mumbo''': It's only fair to warn you... IHaveNoIdeaWhatImDoing.
* VisualPun: Some of Mumbo's spells come off as this.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Fixit wants to repair Cyborg, and does it free of charge, but he wants to get rid of the "biological components" so that Cyborg will never be weak again.
* WhamShot: Cyborg pulls away Fixit's cloak while struggling to escape. He sees that Fixit's skeleton is completely robotic.
