!!Tropes:

* ArmorIsUseless: Averted with Tagrin's armor, which stands up to the exhaust flames of a transport. Played straight with Stormtrooper armor, as usual, when Neeku lampshades that he's never actually seen it protect anyone.
* BigDamnHeroes: The Aces show up to escort Kaz and co.'s shuttle just as it's about to be blown up by [=TIEs=], then the Colossus returns to pick them all up while shielding them from a swarm of [=TIEs=] at the same time.
* ButNowIMustGo: After they're rescued, Norath asks Kaz to come back with him to the Resistance, but [[IChooseToStay Kaz chooses to stay]] so that he can continue finding a safe haven for the Colossus.
* CallBack:
** Kaz refers back to [[Recap/StarWarsResistanceS1E15TheNewTrooper that other time]] he disguised himself as a stormtrooper.
** Tierny notes that she didn't get the chance to interrogate Yeager [[Recap/StarWarsResistanceS1E19NoEscapePartI the last time he was caught]].
* CarFu: CB rams a shuttle into Tagrin, then flames him with the thrusters for good measure.
* CassandraTruth: Based on his past with the Rebellion, Tierny believes Yeager is more involved with the Resistance than he actually is, and refuses to believe that he doesn't know where the Resistance holdouts are or how to contact General Organa.
* ContinuityNod:
** Kaz lamenting that his blaster was set to stun instead of kill when he panic-fired at Pyre brings to mind what Rex advised to Ezra when the latter accidentally shot a disguised Kanan and Rex in ''Rebels'' episode "Stealth Strike".
** Also from "Stealth Strike", the issue of [[DressingAsTheEnemy nabbing armor off of random Stormtroopers]] comes up, with both instances making light of the armor being ill-fitting for our heroes.
* DamselOutOfDistress: CB electrocutes her torturer, then lures Tierny into a trap and knocks her out. Kaz beats her to rescuing Yeager and Synara though, and they have an argument about that.
* DressingAsTheEnemy: Kaz and Norath grabbing random stormtroopers off the street for disguises means the armor is ill-fitting and doesn't hold up to scrutiny, and they only manage to get as far as they do because [[TheNondescript no one looks twice]] at them. Norath also has problems with the helmet, as it wasn't made for his species' physiology.
* ElectricTorture: Yeager and Synara are subjected to this by Tierny, in an attempt to get information about the Colossus and Resistance out of them. CB-23 receives a droid-oriented version of electric torture elsewhere to get the information from her memory. None work, and Yeager is especially resistant.
* FaceHeelTurn: Discussed. Tierny paints Tam Ryvora as a loyal, dedicated First Order soldier while interrogating Yeager, rubbing her defection in his face to demoralize him.
* GroinAttack: It may be hard to see, but CB hits Tierny roughly around the groin area, which is likely why she's knocked out in one hit.
* IChooseToStay: Kaz declines Norath's offer to return with him to the Resistance, saying that he needs to finish his business with the Colossus first.
* TheNeedsOfTheMany: Captain Doza makes good on his promise to have the Colossus jump to safety at the first sign of trouble, prioritising the safety of its inhabitants over the safety of those on Varkana. Downplayed in that Torra persuades him to let the Aces (whose fighters are much harder to spot) stay behind to help Kaz and the others escape, and once they're ready, the Colossus comes back for just long enough to pick them all up before jumping away again.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Pyre refusing to pay Tagrin for Yeager and Synara, then clarifying that he'll pay nothing if the First Order finds the Resistance agents first, puts him and Tagrin in competition and neither side capturing them.
* NotInThisForYourRevolution: When Norath thanks Doza for rescuing him and that the Resistance is in his debt, Doza answers that he did this for his people, not the Resistance.
* OneWordTitle: "Breakout".
* RedundantRescue: Downplayed. When Yeager, Synara, and CB-23 are captured, CB breaks out by herself and immediately heads off to rescue the others, only to find that Kaz and Norath have infiltrated the base and rescued them first, with the intention of rescuing CB afterwards.
-->'''Kaz:''' CB! We're here to rescue you!\
'''CB-23:''' [''[[TheUnintelligible annoyed beeping]]'']\
'''Kaz:''' Okay, okay! Well, it doesn't matter who's rescuing who!
* SkewedPriorities: CB-23 finds Yeager and Synara shortly after Kaz does. Before they're all out of trouble, the two argue for a bit about who's the rescuer.
* TortureIsIneffective: Tierny's torture fails to get anything out of Yeager or Synara as they don't know anything. Yeager is also resistant to torture from his time as a rebel fighter.
* TheUnreveal: When Tagrin turns in Yeager, Synara, and CB without Kaz and Norath, Pyre says that he was supposed to have caught ''three'' Resistance spies. Behind-the-scenes material reveals that [[WhatCouldHaveBeen a third spy named Amleto was supposed to get involved, but was cut from the episode]], though she may appear in a future story. As a result, Amleto is a HeroOfAnotherStory.
* UnspokenPlanGuarantee: Doza intends to leave Kaz and the others if the First Order finds the Colossus, while Torra tries to persuade him to let her and the Aces stay behind for Kaz and co., which Doza also refuses to let her do. At the end, it seems they've agreed to disagree until it turns out Doza only had the Colossus temporarily jump away until the Aces could escort Kaz and co. to safety.
* VillainHasAPoint: Yeager tells Tierny that unlike her, he's a compassionate person. Tierny disagrees with that, telling him that's not what Tam said about him. This is not entirely inaccurate: Yeager did nothing to support Tam's dreams, was (from her perspective) too tolerant of Kaz's antics, and didn't trust Tam enough with secrets.
* WeaponisedExhaust: When Tagrin withstands being hit by the shuttle, CB-23 instead knocks him out by turning around and blasting him with the exhaust.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Having not talked about Tam since she joined the First Order, Yeager reveals as Tierny taunts him about it that he still believes Tam will eventually see through their lies and return to the side of good.
