!!Tropes:
* BadlyBatteredBabysitter: Marco, trying to feed a cranky Meteora, ends up with baby food in his face and his hand in her gnawing mouth.
* TheBusCameBack: Princess Penelope Spiderbite (who was last seen in [[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS3E33Skooled "Skooled"]]) returns in this episode.
* CallBack: The reason Eclipsa isn't at her castle is because she was at Ludo's section of the castle looking for remnants of the Book of Spells.
* ContinuityNod:
** As Star's checklist for the visit ends with "[[BreadEggsMilkSquick covering up dark secrets]]", she throws a tarp over Manfred, who's still petrified after [[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS4E7YadaYadaBerries "Yada Yada Berries"]].
** Princess Penelope is now dating Slime, after becoming friends in "[[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS3E24MonsterBash Monster Bash]]". Her father also uses his Slime to cure his spider bites.
** The Spiderbites mention they heard about the argument between Eclipsa and Rhomubus in "[[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS4E4SwimSuit Swim Suit]]".
** Eclipsa is hoping to use Glossaryck's magic silkworms to reconstruct the spellbook from a surviving piece. ''Literature/TheMagicBookOfSpells'' uses exactly that explanation for how the book itself is readable after being burned in-show.
* EatenAlive: The Spiderbites claim they dislike Eclipsa because of the actions of her husband Globgor, who devoured their distant relative and Eclipsa's ex-husband Shastacan. Eclipsa herself says the truth was more complicated than what the Spiderbites think, but corroborates the Globgor did eat him.
* FailedASpotCheck:
** Star could have easily avoided insulting the Spiderbites if only she took a closer look at the various monster decorations she showed them. She even missed the clearly labeled sign beside the painting that said it was made from the blood of Globgor's enemies.
** Star could have found Eclipsa much quicker if she had used the "All-Seeing Eye" spell from the very beginning.
* {{Hypocrite}}: For as much as Star lambasts others for not trusting Eclipsa, she isn't any better. She immediately assumes Eclipsa is shirking responsibility when she can't find her when the Spiderbites arrive, and lies to her about the existence of a fragment of the Book of Spells despite Eclipsa's insistence she only wants to restore it to try and help the kingdom. As much as she wants others to trust Eclipsa, she doesn't trust her either. And, just when Star worries about Eclipsa deceiving her and the rest of the Kingdom, that's what Star is doing to Eclipsa.
* InnocentlyInsensitive:
** Star has no idea that all the things she had been showing the Spiderbites -- the decorative cups for their beverages, the art gallery, the monster dance -- are actually commemorations of the atrocities committed by Globgor upon Mewmans. [[EveryoneHasStandards Even Eclipsa was horrified Star had the dance performed]].
** King and Queen Spiderbite are guilty of this when Eclipsa shows them the crystallized Globgor, gleefully expressing relief and even giving a few [[NoblewomansLaugh laughs]] when Eclipsa ensures them that he will ''stay'' crystallized. King Spiderbite even said Globgor was "basically dead".
* MistakenForRacist: After King and Queen Spiderbite have turned up their noses at all the monster-themed decor and entertainment, Star comes to the conclusion that they are prejudiced and calls them out. Turns out, they're cool with monsters in general, to the point of approving Penelope dating Slime. They were actually offended at Star unwittingly showing them homages to one monster legendary for eating Mewmans and terrorizing their kingdom in particular: Eclipsa's husband, Globgor.
* PhoneaholicTeenager: Penelope spends the whole visit on her compact, barely listening when Star tries to talk to her. Turns out she was texting her boyfriend, Slime, who's having trouble texting because his phone keeps sinking into his arm.
* SadisticChoice: The beginning of a dilemma Star will face: If Star gives the piece of the Book of Spells to Eclipsa, she has no way of knowing if Eclipsa will put a knife in her back and find a way to free Globgor and do something really horrible. If Star keeps the fragment to prevent that from happening, she violates her own integrity she has shown to Eclipsa.
* ThisCannotBe: Even King Spiderbite was surprised Rhombulus was able to pull off crystallizing Globgor, which he did not think was ever possible.
* WhamLine: The background we'd hear about events in Eclipsa's time is significantly complicated when Queen Spiderbite mentions that "The dance you showed us is a tribute to Globgor ''eating'' my great-great-great-granduncle Shastacan."
