Jesse investigates a clue about God; Tulip makes friends with a new neighbor; a glimpse into Cassidy's past relationship with Denis.
----
!!This episode contains examples of:
* BaitAndSwitch: We open with a shot of a muscular Eugene doing pull ups, and his new prison tattoo that reads "Tracy", implying he has undergone TookALevelInJerkass to survive the environment of Hell. And then he offers Tyler a snack.
* BookEnds: The episode begins and ends with Cassidy singing an Irish folk song to Denis.
* CallingYourOrgasms: The Extrapolator version of Jesse does this as Tracy gives him a handjob, [[BlackComedy coinciding with Eugene shooting himself.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even the prisoners of hell are appalled that fellow inmate, Tyler raped four girls.
** While Tyler himself was horrified that one of his fellow inmates once burned her children alive.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: Eugene insists that he deserves Hell because he betrayed Tracy's trust by... kissing her. Once. While he has his reasons for considering it [[MyGreatestFailure a terrible thing to do]] [[note]]namely that it freaked her out enough to make her go through with her suicide just after he'd managed to talk her off the ledge - not that that makes him deserve damnation, because ''boy howdy'' was that an overreaction by Tracy, but it's understandable that he's horrified at what he inadvertantly caused to happen - [[/note]] you could see why Hitler would be... unimpressed.
* HopeSpot: The Extrapolator runs on this. It shows the damned a version of their worst memory in which things go right, but then finds a way to make them even worse.
* InsistentTerminology: Tyler insists that he didn't rape four women, he just ''date'' raped them, and by accepting the date, he was entitled to sex.
* InstantCostumeChange: In the time it takes Lara to shut the door on Tulip, remove the chain lock, and open the door back up (about five seconds, give or take), she's completely changed her appearance.
* OddFriendship: Tulip seems to be striking one up with Lara, not knowing that she's an agent of the Grail.
* OffingTheOffspring: One of hell's inmates was a single mother who set her children on fire.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: It seems that Grail Industries may be this, considering that their logo is emblazoned on the TV sets at the tech store.
* WhamLine: Hitler recruits Eugene to escape Hell.
* WhamShot: The Blu-Ray with Creator/MarkHarelik's audition and subsequent murder is branded "Property of Grail Industries".
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Eugene is basically, genuinely good, despite his attempted posturing to adapt in Hell. Hitler takes advantage of this by having Eugene display his good nature for the security camera. This leads to Eugene being thrown into the pit and experiencing an even worse version of his worst memory, which makes him much more agreeable to Hitler's plan to escape Hell.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: Cassidy's main qualm against turning Denis into a vampire. He talks about this, at length, with Tulip:
--> '''Tulip''': Live forever, huh? I guess it’d be cool. You don’t have to worry because nothing hurts you, you know? There’s nothing to be afraid of.
--> '''Cassidy''': Yeah, well, things still hurt.
--> '''Tulip''': You know what I mean. You got all your fingers chopped off, a couple of these bad boys later and they’re back.
--> '''Cassidy''': Yeah, well, alright. Yeah, that’s a point, to be sure, that’s a bonus, all right. But there’s trade-offs, like… I used to love the beach. When I was a boy me Ma used to take us to the beach in the summer, me and me brother. Every Sunday. Every other stupid kid would be down on his knees in church, we’d have the whole run of the place, I loved it. Christ, I can’t remember the last time I was on the beach.
--> '''Tulip''': Yep, me neither. I hate the beach.
--> '''Cassidy''': And there’s the boredom, you’ve heard every joke, drugs barely work, and then every one you ever cared or loved just… just dies. Except you.
