1	While running in a thunderstorm from a group of Jaggernauts, the Searchers find an even worse problem when a giant robot named Melcarba awakens and attacks them.

3	''Nothing'' is capable of stopping Melcarba, and the Searchers are forced to run... until Genki creates a lightning rod to bring it down. Meanwhile, Gray Wolf hears of their ingenuity and decides to face them himself.

29	* TemptingFate: While the others are running for the forest, Suezo stays where their original shelter was, commenting on how 'lightning never strikes twice' in the same place and claiming it's far safer there. Then a lightning bolt strikes ''inches'' away from where he's standing.
30	* TragicVillain: Genki comes to see Melcarba as one; the robot has literally no control over itself, driven by its programming to continue fighting despite there being no real reason or ''purpose'' for it. This ultimately leads to its destruction at the heroes' hands, with Genki lamenting how [[YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood that technology could have been used]] for much better things.
31	* TheWorfEffect: The role the Jaggernauts fill in this episode. Not only do they outnumber the Searchers, but they are among some of the strongest monsters in the Monster Rancher world. However, the moment Melcarba activates, it easily dispatches the entire hoard, demonstrating how powerful it is.
32	* YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood: Variation; after Melcarba is taken down, the Searchers watch the rest of the promotional video bragging about its offensive capabilities, and Genki wonders why its creators focused on building war machines rather than applying that technology towards other areas.
