Red has a new technique for sliding into the Great Hall's pond and wants Gobo to perform it with her while their friends watch. Instead, Gobo and the others are clamoring to hear Mokey's latest poem. Saddened at the fact that everyone seems to be more interested in Mokey than her, Red goes to see the Trash Heap—who begins composing a poem of her own when Red mentions Mokey's poetry. This clinches it for Red, who decides that the best idea is to dress, act, talk, and be completely like Mokey.

When Gobo and Mokey go to see the Trash Heap to find out what's wrong with Red, they get caught in Junior's snare on the way back. Red, who is trying to do Mokey's job of gathering radishes, sees what's happened and comes up with a plan to save her friends. She hides behind a bush (pretending to be a talking bush), yells at Junior, and manages to distract him long enough to give Gobo and Mokey time to escape. They praise Red's bravery, and she realizes her friends like her the way she is.

!!This episode contains examples of:
* AnAesop: BeYourself. Red learns this after she distracts Junior long enough for Gobo and Mokey to escape from his snare by reverting back to her loud, energetic, fiery self.
* AffectionateNickname: While acting like Mokey, Red calls Boober "Boobykins".
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Red assumes her conversation with the Trash Heap is over when the latter starts to recite poetry.
-->'''Red:''' Ohhh, even the Trash Heap wants to be like Mokey! Well, I know how she feels. ''[Walks off.]''
* AwkwardPoetryReading: Mokey reads her poem to her friends, but Gobo's enjoyment of it is disrupted by Red, who keeps trying to tell him how her new slide is supposed to be done.
* TheBard: Mokey, who often writes {{poetry}}.
* ByTheHair: Ma is not happy that Junior hasn't learned a special new bowing technique. When Junior protests, Ma briefly grabs him by the hair.
-->'''Junior:''' Awww! But, Ma, I need to finish my Fraggle trap... ''[Ma grabs his hair.]'' Owww, ow, ow!
* CantSeeADamnThing: Gobo's complaint with Red's new sliding technique. When doing it, they can't see where they're going. That is the primary reason Gobo was paying more attention to Mokey at that time: he simply wanted to do something less suicidal.
* CaughtInASnare: This happens to Gobo and Mokey, courtesy of Junior.
* ChekhovsGag: Gobo plays a trick on Red, which involves saying, "Cover your eyes" and then "Dark, isn't it?" Later, Red uses this trick to distract Junior so that Gobo and Mokey can escape from his snare.
* ClothingSwitch: Sort of. For a costume party, Doc and Sprocket decide to dress as each other. Sprocket wears glasses and one of Doc's shirts and vests, while Doc wears a dog costume, complete with a leash.
* FailedASpotCheck: It never occurs to Junior that the talking bush might be someone hiding behind a bush and yelling at him.
* GirlinessUpgrade: Red's imitation of Mokey entails this. All it does is make her friends think she's gone crazy or is sick.
* GreatBigBookOfEverything: Boober has a book all about disease.
-->'''Boober:''' Hey, Red, look! I've got this book all about disease. This is great, because now I can find out what's wrong with me before I get sick.
* HolidayEpisode: The Gorgs are getting ready to celebrate the Festival of Gorgs' Eve, which apparently involves pink decorations and the performance of a special bow.
-->'''Ma:''' ''[demonstrating for Junior]'' Inhale... reach, two, three... exhale, two, three... bend, two, three...
* {{Hypochondria}}: Boober assumes Red's attempts to act like Mokey are symptoms of a rare, highly contagious disease called bacterial sufferosis. He researches about it, and after reading about the symptoms—funny hair and a weird voice—thinks that he's caught it, and that Wembley has, too, when the latter snores while taking a nap. After doing some more research, he [[FindTheCure wonders if crushed rock and stale puddle water are the cure]].
-->'''Boober:''' We need some stale puddle water! Wembley, got a bucket?
* IJustWantToBeYou: Red tries to imitate Mokey, thinking that this will make her more popular.
* IndyPloy: Red sees Gobo and Mokey in Junior's snare and improvises a plan to save them.
* IShallTauntYou: Red, pretending to be a talking bush, calls Junior "Gorg Belly", yells at him, and manages to distract him long enough to give Gobo and Mokey time to escape from his snare.
-->'''Red:''' ''[to Junior, from behind the bush]'' Listen carefully!\
'''Junior:''' Oh! Yes, sir, Mr. Bush!\
'''Red:''' Close your eyes!\
'''Junior:''' Okay. ''[Closes his eyes.]'' Now what?\
'''Red:''' Dark, isn't it?\
'''Junior:''' Well, now that you mention it, bush, it is very dark.\
''[Red, meanwhile, makes frantic gestures at Gobo and Mokey, who manage to free themselves.]''\
'''Mokey:''' Okay!\
'''Gobo:''' Let's go!\
'''Junior:''' Anything else you want me to do?\
'''Red:''' ''[to Gobo and Mokey]'' '''RUN!'''\
'''Junior:''' Okay. '''RUN!'''\
''[Eyes still closed, Junior starts to run, then trips. The Fraggles, meanwhile, make a dash for the Rock.]''\
'''Junior:''' What? ''[Opens his eyes.]'' Hey, the Fraggles escaped! Uh, Mr. Bush? ''[Looks around.]'' Mr. Bush...?
* ItsAllMyFault: Red blames herself for trying to act like Mokey—causing her friends to worry about her, visit the Trash Heap, and get caught on the way back.
* IWantSong: Red sings "Dreaming of Someone", a song about yearning to be Mokey. During the song, Red has a FantasySequence of her friends dressed in white and [[SolidClouds standing on clouds]], with Gobo, Wembley, and Boober gazing up at Mokey, who is holding a scroll.
* JerkassRealization: Downplayed. After seeing the Trash Heap, Gobo realizes how important Red's new sliding technique is to her and that he should have paid more attention when she wanted him to perform it with her.
* LeastRhymableWord: While writing her poem, "Ode to Radishes", Mokey is having trouble finding a rhyme for "gurgles". Her finished poem reads:
-->''Little radish by a tree,\
Growing reddish, silently.\
Reddish radish, brook that gurgles,\
Garden path where life unfurgles.''
* MakeoverFail: Red lets her hair down, puts on a necklace and cardigan sweater—the kind of outfit Mokey wears—and even tries to imitate Mokey's voice, all part of an effort to be completely like her. It doesn't work.
* OhCrap: Gobo and Mokey, when they get caught by Junior... and Red, when she sees them in his snare.
* OneDialogueTwoConversations: Boober and Wembley are in a panic, thinking they're dying of bacterial sufferosis. Just then, Gobo and Mokey return from the Gorgs' garden. When Gobo says that Red is all right—as in, a good friend—Boober and Wembley think it means that she's cured.
-->''[Boober and Wembley are lying on the ground, moaning in terror.]''\
'''Boober:''' ''[holding an ice pack to his head]'' [[OwMyBodyPart Ohhh, my hair is killing me!]] And my voice is disgusting! [[TooYoungToDieLamentation Ohhh, I'm too young to die!]]\
'''Wembley:''' Ohhh, me, too!\
'''Boober:''' Quick! Bring the crushed rock!\
''[Gobo and Mokey walk in.]''\
'''Gobo:''' You know something? That Red is all right.\
'''Mokey:''' Yeah.\
'''Boober:''' ''[looking up]'' Is she really all right?\
'''Gobo:''' You bet she is!\
'''Boober:''' Wembley, there's hope!
* PrehensileTail: At one point, Mokey is painting two portraits of Doozers, one with a brush and one with the tip of her tail. When Red tries to do the same, she only manages to knock over both paintings—easels and all.
* SillySong:
** Red and Mokey sing "Beetle Song", an increasingly complicated [[TongueTwister tongue twister]] of a piece. At the song's end, Red collapses from exhaustion.
** Junior's song, "Dum De Dum", which is basically about the joy of catching Fraggles.
* SpeakingUpForAnother: Mokey speaks up in Red's defense when Gobo blames her for the fact that he and Mokey got caught in Junior's snare. Subverted in that Red accepts Gobo's accusation.
-->'''Mokey:''' Red, if it hadn't been for you... why, we would have been finished Fraggles by now!\
'''Gobo:''' Yeah, and if it hadn't been for you, we wouldn't have been in that trap in the first place.\
'''Mokey:''' Gobo!\
'''Red:''' He's right, Mokey. I was trying to gather radishes like you. I was trying to do ''everything'' like you. Let's face it, I make a crummy you.\
''[{{Beat}}]''\
'''Gobo:''' Yeah. But you make a great bush.
* SubvertedRhymeEveryOccasion: Junior keeps doing this in his song, "Dum De Dum".
-->'''Junior:''' ''[singing]'' Dum, dum, dum, dum de die.\
Catch a frizzy Fraggle and punch him in the...\
Die de dum de die de dum.\
Die de dum de die de dum.\
Dum, dum, dum, dum de do.\
Catch another Fraggle and cook him in a...\
Do de dum de do de dum.\
Do de dum de do de dum.
* TooYoungToDieLamentation: Boober and Wembley both make this after thinking they've caught bacterial sufferorsis.
* VerbalBackspace: When Boober, going on about his book on disease, looks up and notices Red's new appearance...
-->'''Boober:''' Now, look. Right here on this page, it tells you all about... ''[looks up at Red]'' [[AstonishinglyAppropriateInterruption WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR?!]]\
'''Red:''' ''[in her own voice]'' Knock it off! ''[She catches herself.]'' I mean, uh... ''[trying to imitate Mokey's voice]'' ...what did you say, little Boober?
* VisualPun: When the Trash Heaps recites one of her poems to Philo and Gunge...
-->'''Philo:''' Oh, Marjory!\
'''Gunge:''' We never knew you had it in ya!\
'''The Trash Heap:''' Boys, I got ''everything'' in me!\
'''Philo and Gunge:''' ''[to camera]'' No comment.
* WeNeedADistraction: Gobo and Mokey need one to gain them enough time to escape from Junior's snare. Red agrees to provide it.
-->'''Red:''' Hey! Hey, Mokey! Gobo!\
'''Gobo:''' Red!\
'''Red:''' Can you guys get out?\
'''Gobo:''' Well, I think so, but we need some time!\
'''Red:''' Right!
* WildHair: Red's hair, when it's unbound, is a massive mane, as wide as her shoulders and flowing halfway down her back.
* YourDaysAreNumbered: Parodied. Boober and Wembley, thinking they have funny hair and weird voices, believe they're dying of bacterial sufferosis.
