"Ed, Edd n Eddy's Boo Haw Haw" is the third special of ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'', first aired in 2005.

The Eds try to find the town of "Spook-E-Ville" using an old map from Eddy's Older Brother, but Ed has watched so many horror movies for so many periods of time that on the way, he has hallucinations of the kids being horrific monsters.

!!Tropes
* AcidRefluxNightmare: Spending excessive hours watching horror movies [[CuckooNest caused Ed to lose what grip on reality he had]].
* AllForNothing: The main plot of the episode involves the Eds following a map Eddy received from his brother to a town called Spook-E-Ville, where they will get tons of candy at every house. They follow all the clues, with Ed beating up all the kids along the way due to his out-of-control imagination, and eventually arrive at Spook-E-Ville. Eddy and Double D quickly find out though that Spook-E-Ville is not real and they just went in a huge circle that led them back to the Cul-de-Sac. Not only did they waste a good portion of their Halloween night with this pointless quest, Ed angered all the kids into attacking Edd and Eddy and the Eds don't get to do any trick or treating at all.
* AnimationBump: Some of the show's most detailed scenes of animation are in here, such as Ed's flashes of the nightmare version of the Cul-de-Sac.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: While hallucinating, Ed sees Plank as “Franken-Plank”, a gigantic wooden board which resembles Frankenstein’s monster.
* AxCrazy: Ed arguably goes from a harmless {{Cloudcuckoolander}} to this in this special.
* BigBallOfViolence: This happens at the end when all the angry kids Ed attacked beat up Eddy and Double-D.
* BigBrotherBully: The episode is another emphasis on how Eddy's brother is a jerk to Eddy - the map he gave him only lead the Eds back to the Cul-de-Sac and there was no Spook-E-Ville. As Double-D put it, he tricked rather than treated Eddy.
-->'''Eddy:''' Is my brother a jerk or what?!
* BittersweetEnding: More bitter than sweet. Eddy and Edd realize that the former's brother had duped him with a fake map to a town that doesn't even exist, and the two Eds get beaten up by the neighborhood kids--but they don't pound Ed, who's the only one with a happy ending. Although, just like Eddy and Edd, Ed misses out on trick-or-treating and doesn’t get any candy.
* BuriedAlive: The "Vampiress" (Sarah), after Ed confuses the hell outta her with a "stake" (steak) "driven" to her heart, taking the opportunity to grab her and throw her into a grave. When the hallucination ends, she really ''is'' buried alive as Edd rushes over with a watering can to literally grow her out of the ground, causing Sarah to sprout like a plant with fresh tomatoes growing from her ears.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Ed, well known as the dumbest character in the show, easily beats up every kid he comes across due to being motivated by fear and seeing them each as a real monster.
* DiabolusExMachina: There's no explanation as to how Ed suddenly had a hallucination of Edd and Eddy rolling happily around the raining flowers other than to have the special [[DownerEnding end with Edd and Eddy getting their asses handed to them by the other kids]] considering that Ed's hallucinations were [[GRatedDrug due to his overdose of watching too many monster movies]], and he has never watched any movie that involved raining flowers.
* DownerEnding: None of the Eds get any candy, and the episode ends with Edd and Eddy getting beat up for Ed's actions. Nothing goes right for the trio, except for Ed.
* {{Egging}}: This is what Kevin does to the Eds. While fighting the HeadlessHorseman in his imagination, Ed returns fire at Kevin.
* EyeScream: Self-inflicted on Ed, who pinches his eyeballs closed with clothespins when fighting the Gorgon (Nazz).
* FaceHeelTurn: The first time Ed encounters the giant spider, it doesn’t attack him and Ed describes it as kind-hearted. However, when Jonny comes after the Eds for beating up Plank, Ed envisions the giant spider as part of the monster army attacking them.
* FailedASpotCheck: After arriving in what he thinks is "Spook-E-Ville", Eddy doesn't recognize it as the Cul-de-Sac at first. He even knocks on the door of his own house before Double-D makes him realize it.
* FiveSecondForeshadowing: It was hinted a moment before the Eds arrived in what they thought was Spook-E-Ville that something was a miss as they passed a shovel that somebody (possibly Eddy's Brother) had left in the middle of nowhere.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Edd looks at the horror movies in Ed's room, three of which are each about Medusa, the Headless Horseman, and witches. Ed's hallucinations of these characters are of Nazz (Medusa), Kevin (Headless Horseman), and the Kankers (witches).
* FunWithHomophones: While battling the "vampiress", Ed claims "A stake will defeat you!", while pulling a ''steak'' out of his pants before slapping it against her and burying her. Afterwards, Eddy asks Ed if he has any more steaks.
* GRatedDrug: The whole special is basically a metaphor for a psychedelic trip, only much creepier. This is all due to Ed's habit of watching too many monster movies, which cause him to hallucinate and see all the cul-de-sac kids as various macabre figures.
* GorgeousGorgon: Played with regarding Nazz--her costume is of a really cute version of Medusa (Double D gives her props for going for a classical mythology monster rather than a pop culture one), but Ed's hallucination of her as an ''actual'' gorgon leads him to envision her as a thoroughly horrifying and grotesque monstrosity.
* TheGrotesque: Ed claims the giant spider (Jonny) is friendly, despite his hideous appearance.
* HalloweenCostumeCharacterization: Ed dresses up as a viking called Lothar (reflecting his obsession with fantasy comics), Eddy is a zombie Elvis (his desire to be cool), and Edd is a bacterium (since he's a science nerd), which his friends don't find all that exciting.
-->'''Eddy:''' What the heck are you supposed to be?\
'''Edd:''' Guess, Eddy. I am less than five micrometers tall, yet, I pack a truly terrifying punch. ''[his friends stare in confusion]'' Don't get too close to me, or I may infect you! ''[they still don't respond]'' In the Dark Ages, I caused millions of deaths. ''[still nothing]'' The Bubonic Plague! ''I'm the Bubonic Plague!''\
'''Ed:''' Like on your teeth?\
'''Edd:''' [[BigNo NO!]] Not plaque, plague! ''Plague!''
* HalloweenEpisode: A full-length episode set on Halloween.
* {{Horny Viking|s}}: Ed as Lothar.
* IdiotHoudini: Easily one of the most shining examples of this trope in the entire show. At the end, Ed gets away unpunished for all the troubles he's caused to his friends and the kids.
* ImpactSilhouette: After Ed attacks Jimmy with a stop sign, he still has it in his hand, and you can see Jimmy's silhouette.
-->'''Eddy:''' Hey, a dented stop sign! That's the first clue to Spook-E-Ville! We're on the right track!\
'''Double D:''' The sign that ''Ed dented?''
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Ed claims the GiantSpider isn’t evil and only wants to have friends.
* IWantMyMommy: When Ed accidentally [[EyeScream hits Rolf in the eye]] with his spatula, Rolf cries out to his mama, saying he needs a bandage. Ed, who saw Rolf as a one-eyed troll, grabs his friends and says they must hurry before "the troll's" mother comes.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Sarah confronting the Eds and demanding they return Jimmy's candy. Even her resorting to violence is excusable since Ed beat the Hell out of Jimmy without any provocation.
* KarmaHoudini: Eddy’s brother gets no punishment for getting Eddy’s hopes up for nothing and wasting his Halloween with a wild goose chase.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: The "HeadlessHorseman" is the only monster Ed tries to run away from, insisting that it is too strong to fight. Though he does stay behind long enough to CatchAndReturn one of his "pumpkin heads" at him and [[SpareAMessenger tells him to deliver a message]] to the "witches".
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** When Double-D suggests that they cancel their trick-or-treating and take Ed home due to Ed’s hallucinations making him violent, Eddy selfishly refuses Double-D’s advice due to wanting candy, which leads to Ed beating up more kids. As a result, all the kids that Ed beat up form an angry mob and beat Eddy (and Edd) up.
** Kevin shows up and throws eggs at Eddy and Double-D. He then tries to egg Ed, too, but Ed catches one of his eggs and throws it back at him, knocking him off his bike, before wrecking Kevin’s bike as well.
* MisplacedRetribution: Even by this show's rules. The vengeful kids beat up Double-D and Eddy for something that was ''COMPLETELY'' Ed's doing. Meanwhile, they don't even lay a finger on Ed. See IdiotHoudini above.
* MonsterMash: Ed sees the kids as monsters from different genres:
** Kanker Sisters: A trio of [[WickedWitch witches]]
** Jimmy: An [[LittleGreenMen alien]]
** Sarah: A [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampiress]]
** Nazz: A [[GorgeousGorgon gorgon]]
** Kevin: A HeadlessHorseman
** Jonny: A [[GiantSpider spider monster]]
** Rolf: A [[{{Cyclops}} one-eyed]] [[AllTrollsAreDifferent troll]]
** Plank: [[FrankensteinsMonster Franken-Plank]]
* NeverMyFault:
** In the beginning, Eddy complains it was unfair that he got detention on Halloween. Double-D reminds Eddy the teacher gave him detention because he pranked him by filling his desk with processed cheese.
** While the kids were innocent victims who'd done nothing to warrant Ed's anger, '''Kevin''' is not among them--he genuinely attacked the Eds ForTheEvulz, thus he got what was coming to him when Ed's imagination kicked into high gear. Yet, during the climax, he has [[PlayingTheVictimCard the nerve to see himself as the victim]].
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: The entire special is just one beatdown after another.
* NoodleIncident: At the beginning of the special, Eddy is seen coming out of detention for filling the teacher's desk with processed cheese.
* NotEvilJustMisunderstood: According to Ed, the GiantSpider (Jonny) is a misunderstood creature who longs for companionship and checkers. While Ed uses violence against all the other monsters (except the Kankers, who terrified him too much), he opts instead to appease Jonny with an offering of candy, which works like a charm.
* OnlySaneMan: Double-D was the only one concerned about Ed's out of control behavior, while Eddy kept shrugging off what he was trying to tell him and [[SkewedPriorities was only focused on finding Spook-E-Ville]].
-->'''Double D''': ''(To himself)'' Why do you even bother? No one listens. What do they care?
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: "EARTH IS '''NOT''' YOUR SALAD BAR!!" [[OhCrap "Be gentle!"]]
* PuppyDogEyes: Eddy exploits this by using Ed on Double D in order not to ruin his Halloween.
* RunningGag: Nobody can get what Double-D is supposed to be; Jonny believed he was barf, Rolf referred to him as the 'doggy doo-doo suit Ed-boy', and even Ed initially thought that the Bubonic Plague was that stuff you usually brush your teeth for.
* ShownTheirWork: In-universe. Double-D compliments Nazz (who's dressed as Medusa) on being original and dressing up as a mythological monster as opposed to a pop culture one.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: The Kankers were only seen briefly in this special, but their presence causes Ed to see them as witches who [[AWizardDidIt conjured up]] monsters to go after the Eds making beat up the kids around the Cul-de-Sac due to seeing them as the monsters.
* TakenForGranite: Ed is turned to stone by the "Gorgon"; we then see Ed standing still in real life while Nazz looks on in puzzlement. Ed then bursts through the stone shell and attacks the Gorgon.
* ThroughTheEyesOfMadness: After watching so many B-Grade Monster movies, Ed starts to see everyone around him (except for Edd and Eddy) as monsters, and at the end of the special, sees his friends happily playing together when they're actually being beaten up by the kids. We actually get to see those hallucinations firsthand.
* TreasureMap: Eddy's Brother gives Eddy one that supposedly leads to a candy-rich town called Spook-E-Ville. However, it's revealed to be a FoolsMap as [[GoingInCircles it only leads the Eds in a circle]] back to the Cul-de-Sac. You'd think Eddy [[AesopAmnesia would've known better]] considering what happened [[Recap/EdEddNEddyS3E18OEdEleven the last time he followed one of his brother's maps]].
* TheUnfought: Ed never fights the “witches” (the Kanker sisters) who cursed the Eds to be attacked by monsters.
* VillainTeamUp: This is what Ed hallucinates in the climax: all of the "monsters" he defeated on his journey joining forces to smash him and his friends.
* WindmillCrusader: Ed makes Literature/DonQuixote look completely sane by comparison.
* WingdingEyes: Ed gets television static in his eyes whenever he hallucinates.
* WouldHitAGirl: While Ed normally [[WouldntHitAGirl wouldn’t fight girls]], he makes an exception when it comes to female "monsters" (his hallucinations of Sarah and Nazz).
* WrongGenreSavvy: Ed, to the extreme. He believes he and his friends are being hunted down by several Halloween horror monsters, when really it is all just his imagination running wild due to watching an overload of Halloween movies.
* YankTheDogsChain: Eddy’s brother does this to Eddy as a mean prank, giving him a fake map to get to a nonexistent neighborhood called “Spook-E-Ville” that gives kids buckets of candy on Halloween.
* YourMom: When the gang of “monsters” attacks Ed in the climax, Ed yells “Your mother wears army boots!”.
