After a close call at the docks, Guy is arrested and learns that Sam has been duping him. Meanwhile, Michellee takes E.B. for a tour through Meepville.
----
!!Tropes appearing in "There"
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: [=McWinkle=]'s question about Sam's "occupation" as a Wildlife Protector causes Guy to think over the clues such as Sam carrying a fake Wildlife Protector license and his lack of knowledge of animal biology.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Gluntz reacts to The Goat's criminal record and refusal to speak with her usual aplomb. But when he says he doesn't like boardgames? "YOU MONSTER!!"
* ArtImitatesArt: One of the paintings in the Hall of Walls is a Seussian version of Creator/PabloPicasso's "The Old Guitarist."
* BaitAndSwitch: Once in Meepville, Michellee and E.B. stop just outside of the massive toy story E.B. had been gushing about in previous episodes. At first, it looks as though Michellee finally lightened up and decided to treat her daughter to something she wants, but it turns out that they're just walking past it on their way to the Hall Of Walls. Double subverted in that it looks like a MuseumOfBoredom, but it turns out to be an art gallery where Michellee's painting is hanging, which E.B. loves even more.
* BerserkButton: Gluntz really doesn't like when [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext people tell her that they don't like board games]].
* BlackComedy
** Snerz's gala is full of it. Employees are threatened with termination if they don't applaud, and anyone who speaks out gets dropped down a trap door.
** The sign on Justin's Diner flickering to read "Just Die."
* BreadEggsBreadedEggs: Snerz's introduction during his gala.
-->'''Announcer''': And now, the man in charge, the man of your dreams, and the man ''[[MegaCorp in charge]]'' [[MegaCorp of your dreams]]...!
* BreakTheCutie: Sam does not react well to Guy telling him that he doesn't belong anywhere, not even with his own mother.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: The narrator expresses frustration over how Guy, at his lowest point, is back to being the grouch he was in episode one.
* BrickJoke: The fish family from "Train" appear at the beginning having just purchased a new house... right before [[BlackComedy the sunken boat crushes it]].
* BrokenPedestal: Implied with Guy when Sam confesses that Snerz put him up to kidnapping Mr. Jenkins to give the latter to him. If you may recall in the pilot, Guy wanted to work for Snerz, but to discover that the businessman is a devious man really shocks Guy.
* CassandraTruth: Having just learned that Sam is a con artist, Guy obviously isn't ready to believe Sam's claim that he isn't going to sell Mr. Jenkins to Snerz after all.
* CatharticScream: Guy cries out in frustration after his TheReasonYouSuckSpeech.
* ChirpingCrickets: Despite the smoke effects and pyrotechnics going off, Snerz's spectacular entrance at his gala is met with awkward silence. His YesMan is forced to hold up a sign threatening his employees with termination to get them to applaud.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough: Sam tries Gluntz's goat hypnosis technique on the BADGUYS, only for [=McWinkle=] to remind him that it won't work on them because they aren't goats. Subverted in that Sam just does it as a distraction for Guy to get Mr. Jenkins back from them.
* DisguisedInDrag: One of Sam's aliases is Dr. Linda Schwartz.
* EtTuBrute: Guy's reaction to finding out that Sam is a con artist who wanted to sell Mr. Jenkins to Snerz.
* EvenTheDogIsAshamed: Mr. Jenkins also becomes upset at Guy and abandons him for bringing up Sam's mother during his TheReasonYouSuckSpeech.
* FireballEyeballs: After [[TheLastStraw being offered green eggs and ham too many times]] (at a moment that he is ''not'' in the mood to even consider doing something nice for Sam), Guy scowls at the dish in Sam's hand as it's reflected on his eyes, imagining it bursting into flames.
* FreudianExcuse: Michellee used to be a professional painter when E.B. was very little. She became overprotective of E.B. when her husband died, moving them to the suburbs and taking a reliable office job as a bean counter to ensure that E.B. would be provided for.
* FunWithAcronyms: "BADMEN" stands for "Bureau of Animal Defense- Meepville Environmental Network".
* GoodCopBadCop: [=McWinkle=] is bad cop to Gluntz's good cop while they interrogate Guy and The Goat, respectively. It quickly devolves into "bad cop, insane cop" thanks to Gluntz being... well, [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Gluntz]].
* HiddenDepths: Thanks to a major in animal linguistics, Gluntz is able to [[ImpossibleTaskInstantlyAccomplished mesmerize The Goat and bring him in without a fight.]]
* IHaveManyNames: Sam, aka The Furry Foot Bandit, aka Flim-Flam-I-Am, aka Sham Shamford, aka Dr. Linda Schwartz.
* ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne: Gluntz doesn't interrogate the Goat so much as have a literal tea party with him, where she politely asks him questions which he refuses to answer. However, when he says [[FelonyMisdemeanor he doesn't like board games]], she [[BerserkButton throws her tea in his face and calls him a monster]].
* KickTheDog: Once he learns about who Sam really is, Guy tells him that he only has so many aliases because [[IJustWantToHaveFriends he doesn't fit in anywhere]], then rubs salt in the wound by saying that that's why his mother gave him up. Ouch!
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Despite how angry he is, even Guy realizes he's gone too far with his KickTheDog moment when he notices that it makes Sam cry.
* MythologyGag: Like the original book, Guy angrily gives a long list of all of the places he's been offered green eggs and ham in response to Sam's penultimate effort to get him to try it. Unlike the book, however, Guy is much angrier at Sam for having put him through far worse than just pestering him and the list is more of a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech than a declaration.
* NothingIsFunnier: Whatever the "happy memory" is that Gluntz hypnotizes the Goat into re-living causes him to scream "AAAA! [[BigNo NOOOO]]!!"
* OhCrap: Sam realizes he's in big trouble when Guy tells him that he found out about his true occupation.
-->'''Sam''': ''([[OhCrapSmile smiles sheepishly]])'' It's nice to be wanted?
* RageBreakingPoint: Guy was already furious enough with Sam having lied to him and deceiving him throughout their adventure, but once Sam tries to offer him some green eggs and ham after all he had put him through, Guy finally snaps and let loose the classic rhyme from the book with the fury of a thousand suns.
-->'''Guy:''' I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.\
'''Sam:''' But you ''could!''\
'''Guy:''' I could not, would not on a boat! (''pounds the offending food'') I will not, ''WILL NOT'' with a goat! I will not eat them in the ''rain!'' (''hurls the meal at a wall'') I will not eat them on a ''train!'' I do not like them ''here'' or ''there!'' I do not like them ''ANYWHERE!'' '''I DO NOT LIKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM! I DO NOT LIKE THEM, ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis SAM! I! AM!!]]'''''\
'''Sam:''' ...Soo...that's a "no?"
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Guy delivers a devastating one after Sam tells him the reason why he has so many aliases; reason being that no one stuck around long enough to get to know the real him.
-->'''Guy:''' Well, there's a reason nobody's ever stuck around this long, Sam. Believe me, I know! Because I've tried! I've tried you as a friend, and you don't fit. You don't fit anybody! ''[[KickTheDog Not even your own mother]].''
* ShoutOut
** The sinking boat lands near a family of fish with five kids -- [[Literature/OneFishTwoFishRedFishBlueFish one (yellow) infant, twins (both yellow), and one red, and one blue]].
** Guy passes a fountain statue of General Regret, who is a turtle. Like [[Literature/YertleTheTurtleAndOtherStories Yertle]].
** Sam's BreakTheCutie moment mirrors the scene in ''Film/PlanesTrainsAndAutomobiles'' where Neil almost makes Del cry by telling him that his stories are boring. The scene of him thinking back to all of the clues to Sam's true identity also mirrors the penultimate scene of Neil on the train remembering things Del said and realizing the truth about him.
* ShownTheirWork: When Sam gets down on all fours and makes Goat noises to imitate Gluntz's stupefaction technique, he's resting on his tip-toes and the tips of his fingers. Goats, like most quadrupedal animals, actually walk on their toes rather than the flat parts of their feet.
* SignsOfDisrepair: An especially glum Guy walks into Justin's Diner, who's flickering sign occasionally reads "[[BlackComedy Just Die]]."
* TakeThat: While doing his exchange with Sam, [[BigBad Snerz]] can be heard saying "[[Creator/DonaldTrump I have the best words]]."
* VisualPun: The Park-n-Ride is a park that you ride.
* WhatTheHellHero: It's completely understandable why Guy is enraged with Sam, what with deceiving him throughout the season, but to bring Sam's mother into it is clearly going too far.
