Sabine Wren's capture by Baylan and Shin gives him a means to locate Ezra and two Force-wielders that can fight Ezra on even grounds, an opportunity to either kill him once and for all or at least delay him long enough for Thrawn and his forces to depart in the ''Chimaera'' and strand the duo on Peridea.

Now that he has learned everything he wanted, there is simply no need to keep them around. Besides, they're far more dangerous together.
