Marzipan and The Cheat go on a date together, much to the shared outrage of Homestar and Strong Bad. The disgruntled pair decides to sabotage the new couple's outing, though their results are less-than-stellar.
----
!!Tropes:
* AllForNothing: Homestar and Strong Bad's efforts to sabotage the date are made pointless, as Marzipan breaks off her relationship with The Cheat on her own after finding out The Cheat's been declawed.
* BoringBroadcaster: In an EasterEgg, Strong Sad is heard listening to an ad on Public Radio Sounds promoting a wrestling match between [[Radio/ThisAmericanLife Ira Glass]] and Ira Flatow (a BrickJoke about remarks made by Marzipan earlier). Strong Sad thinks this is a sign that they were ''really'' [[RatingsStunt getting desperate.]]
* BrainBleach: When Homestar brings up the prospect of Marzipan and The Cheat making out, Strong Bad paws at his arms and shouts "The disgust! It won't wash off!"
* BambooTechnology: Homestar and Strong Bad somehow make a (mostly) working mini submarine out of a cardboard box.
* BrickJoke: During their date, Marzipan tells The Cheat that she's also wanted to see a wrestling match between Ira Glass (host of ''This American Life'') and Ira Flatow (host of "Science Friday" on ''Talk of the Nation''). An Easter egg has Strong Sad catching a radio ad for "Public Rage-O", which features a "no-holds-barred lumberjack match" between Ira Glass and Ira Flatow.
-->'''Strong Sad:''' Oh, geez, I gotta pledge more next year. They're really getting desperate.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Homestar vetoes drowning Marzipan and The Cheat in favor of just ruining their date, but Strong Bad doesn't quite get his point.
-->'''Strong Bad:''' Explain to me how drowning them ''wouldn't'' ruin their date.
* ComplimentBackfire: The Cheat asks Marzipan if she'd be comfortable with him complementing her figure, and she okays it. When he ''does'', however...
-->'''Marzipan:''' (''grossed out'') "Ew. Not ''that'' comfortable."
* ContinuityNod: As their cardboard submarine sinks, Homestar and Strong Bad sing the Strong Badian National Anthem from [[Recap/StrongBadEmailE32FlagDay "flag day"]].
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Related to the first EpicFail example below (Strong Bad tries to sabotage Marzipan and The Cheat's dinner date at a French restaurant by dressing up as an Italian chef), Strong Bad admits that [[InUniverseFactoidFailure he didn't research his role beforehand.]]
* EpicFail: Two attempts at trying to ruin Marzipan and The Cheat's date result in this:
** First, at Marshmallow's L'est Stand, SB tries to sabotage Marzipan and The Cheat's dinner by dressing up as an Italian chef, complete with Italian mustache and accent ("A-which-a one o' you guys ordered the smack-in-the-face-a?") -- even though it's a French restaurant, as Marzipan tells him.
--->'''Strong Bad:''' ''(drops accent)'' Oh, um, uh... snails?
*** And then his fake mustache falls off.
** Second, not only do SB and Homestar fail to hit Marzipan and The Cheat when launching their fireworks, they also manage to make the date more romantic with the fireworks display ''and'' sink their own submarine at the same time.
* FatalFireworks: Homestar and SB try to attack Marzipan and The Cheat by launching fireworks at them. It doesn't work, and only sets the mood for a romantic moment.
* HereWeGoAgain: The cartoon ends with Marzipan preparing to go out on a date with Bubs, to the consternation of both Homestar and Coach Z (the latter wearing [[CreepyCrossdresser hair curlers]]).
* HypotheticalFightDebate: Apparently, both The Cheat and Marzipan have wanted to see a wrestling match between public radio personalities Ira Glass and Ira Flatlow.
* {{Malaproper}}: Homestar sees Marzipan getting dolled up for her date, and calls her a "fox's mother".
-->'''Marzipan:''' Homestar, if you're trying to say I'm a "foxy mama", that's actually ''more'' offensive.\
'''Homestar:''' Right, right. You know what I mean. The more offensive one.
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Strong Bad suggests drowning Marzipan and The Cheat to get back at them. He settles for just ruining their date after Homestar talks him out of it.
* RelationshipSabotage: Homestar and Strong Bad spend the toon trying to sabotage Marzipan and The Cheat's date.
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: Homestar makes the "boop" noises of sonar with his mouth while in the carboard submarine with Strong Bad.
* ShoutOut: While in the submarine, Strong Bad makes a rather blatant reference to ''Film/TheHuntForRedOctober'', quoting the film twice before just shouting the film's title out loud.
* TwoScenesOneDialogue: Homestar and Marzipan end up having a very similar conversation to the one Strong Bad and The Cheat are having, with both taking place at the same time. The two conversations are intertwined via fast cuts. Then things get weird when Homestar and Strong Bad both inexplicably end up in Marzipan's house, while Marzipan meets up with The Cheat in Strong Bad's TV room.
