PsychicPowers in movies.
----
[[AC:Animated]]
* ''Anime/PokemonTheFirstMovie'': Mewtwo displays extremely potent psychic abilities of all kinds. Its [[MindOverMatter telekinesis]] can [[WeatherManipulation whip up a huge storm]], repel all forms of attack, and carry dozens of Pokémon (some of which are quite heavy) at a time. It overpowers an Alakazam, which are known for their immense psychic power, in a psychic battle while at Giovanni's gym. It speaks to others {{telepath|y}}ically, and can [[MeatPuppet suppress people's minds to make them do its bidding and speak through them]]. It's also able to [[LaserGuidedAmnesia erase events from people's memories]] and [[PsychicTeleportation teleport them]] back to where they were before they arrived on the island. Mew displays great psychic power in its limited screen time, as well, when it fights evenly with Mewtwo.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSecretOfNIMH'' has some psychic powers going on. Nicodemus is clearly shown to have at least low-level telekinetic abilities (it is never openly stated where they came from, but is implied that his research and knowledge went way beyond the scientific knowledge of the other rats) and at the end of the movie Mrs. Brisby's Gemstone Necklace activates, and she's able to move a cinder block hundreds of times her weight several feet.

[[AC:Live-Action]]
* Ariana from ''Film/AletaVampireMistress'' has the power to track people using their photos, as well as see into other peoples' memories. [[spoiler:This is how she discovered that Aleta killed Ivor's wife, and that Aleta's vampirism comes from worms from another dimension.]]
* In ''Film/Alien2OnEarth'', Thelma experience regular psychic premonitions, and also appears to be telepathic. Her telepathic abilities seem strangely limited, though, considering she fails to notice [[spoiler:the rest of humanity being killed by the rock creatures]].
* ''Film/BeneathThePlanetOfTheApes'' had telepathic {{mutants}} living under the ruins of New York.
* In ''Film/TheBlackHole'', Yvette Mimieux's character had a telepathic link to a robot. In the novelization, however, is just a wireless interface using a cyberimplant on her brain.
%%* The Creator/StephenKing adaptations ''Film/{{Carrie|1976}}'' and ''Film/{{Firestarter}}''; see below under Literature.
* Plenty members of the cast in ''Film/{{Bloodbeat}}'' have psychic powers, including the killer glowing ghost samurai.
* In ''Film/{{Chronicle}}'', three teenagers discover a meteorite that grants them powerful telekinesis. After some amusing pranks, things get worse since one of the teens has ''serious'' issues.
* ''Film/{{Dreamscape}}'' has a secretive research facility studying psychic powers, and, impressively enough, using them mostly to help cure deep seated psychological disorders.
* There are certain people with "talents" in ''Film/ExtraOrdinary2019'' when it comes to dealing with ghosts, including the ability to sense them, to be a WillingChanneler and to enact a HollywoodExorcism.
* The little girl in the B-Horror movie version of ''Film/{{Firestarter}}'' had pyrokinetic abilities but suffered from PowerIncontinence, which proves unfortunate for the people who kept her and her father prisoner with the aim of trying to weaponize her abilities.
* In ''Film/FridayThe13thPartVIITheNewBlood'', Jason gets resurrected accidentally by a telekinetic girl. Naturally, they have a climactic showdown.
* ''Film/TheFury'', a 1978 Creator/BrianDePalma movie features psychics on the run from a government conspiracy.
* In the '90s ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}'' movies, psychic Miki Saegusa features prominently, often using her powers to detect Godzilla's whereabouts or even try to slow down his advances on Japan. ''Film/GodzillaVsBiollante'' featured a direct showdown between the two, in which Godzilla apparently reversed her psychic power and caused her to collapse. Later, in ''Film/GodzillaVsSpaceGodzilla'', she shows off telekinetic abilities.
* ''Film/GreenLantern2011'' has Hector Hammond, who's [[TouchedByVorlons granted phenomenal psychic powers]] by [[EldritchAbomination Parallex]], at the [[EvilCripple cost of his physical body]].
* In ''Film/{{Hellboy|2004}}'', Abe Sapien can determine the past and nature of people of people and objects, usually by touching them.
* In the Creator/ClintEastwood movie ''Film/{{Hereafter}}'', Creator/MattDamon plays a man who can communicate with the dead through their relatives.
* Creator/LennyAbrahamson's ''Literature/TheLittleStranger'' centers on an OldDarkHouse that is rumored to be haunted. It is speculated that a poltergeist — possibly created by a living (telekinetic) person — is responsible for all the eerie happenings. The original novel never clarifies the matter, but the film reveals that [[spoiler:the protagonist, Dr. Faraday,]] has nonconscious telekinetic powers that manifest themselves as a malevolent poltergeist inside the mansion.
* ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse:''
** Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch. After being experimented on by HYDRA with Loki's scepter, she gained both core psychic powers: {{Telepathy}} (in ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron'', she induces hallucinations in the Avengers to [[MindRape reveal their worst fears]], reads Ultron's mind, [[TwinTelepathy instantly feels when her brother dies]] and mentally influences the civilians en masse to make them leave a war zone), -- and very strong [[MindOverMatter Telekinesis]], including the ability to lift and rapidly move heavy objects, [[NotQuiteFlight propel herself into flight]], create protective shields (in ''Age of Ultron''), emit destructive blasts, bursts (after Quicksilver's death in ''Age of Ultron'') and beams (in ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'') of energy, and immobilize and lift people (even someone as strong as Thanos, in ''Film/AvengersEndgame''). In ''Film/DoctorStrangeInTheMultiverseOfMadness'', the [[TomeOfEldritchLore Darkhold]] allows her to perform GrandTheftMe on her [[AlternateSelf variants]] across TheMultiverse, and she also seemingly has some reality-altering powers (such as [[WipeThatSmileOffYourFace removing Black Bolt's mouth]] or turning Mr. Fantastic into slices and [[YourHeadAsplode exploding his head]], in the same film). All her spells are colored red.
** Loki also possesses both {{Telepathy}}, including PerceptionFilter (in ''Film/{{Thor}}'' when he appears invisible to humans on Earth and blocks Heimdall's SuperSenses), [[CharmPerson mind control]] through a PsychicLink (over Dr. Selvig in TheStinger of ''Thor''), ability to induce LaserGuidedAmnesia (on Odin in ''Film/ThorTheDarkWorld'') and TouchTelepathy (used on Valkyrie in ''Film/ThorRagnarok''), -- and relatively weak [[MindOverMatter Telekinesis]] (trashing his cell in ''The Dark World'').
** Ebony Maw in ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'' has some impressive telekinetic powers at his disposal. He uses them to disassemble objects, deflect projectiles, cut cars in half, pin people to walls while restraining them with bricks, turn sidewalks into looping tendrils of concrete, fly by levitating a chunk of ground beneath his feet, and [[ColdBloodedTorture slowly drive large needles into people’s skin]].
* In ''Film/PokemonDetectivePikachu'' there's Mewtwo, the most powerful Psychic Pokemon, and Psyduck, who's also incredibly powerful but suffers from PowerIncontinence and must be kept calm least his psychic powers go haywire and [[PersonOfMassDestruction unleash a massive destructive psychic blast]].
* The movie ''Film/{{Next|2007}}'' starring Creator/NicolasCage had him as a precognitive who can always see two minutes into the future.
* The title character in the Australian horror film ''Film/{{Patrick}}'' is telekinetic, and uses it to get what he wants by any means necessary.
* ''Film/PatrickStillLives'' is an unauthorized InNameOnly sequel to ''Patrick''. As with the original film, the title character is telekinetic, and uses it to cause harm to others. The main difference is that here he's being used by someone else [[spoiler:for the purpose of vengeance]] rather than acting on his own interests.
* In ''Film/{{Powder}}'', introverted and [[BullyingADragon put-upon]] small-town albino Jeremy Reed has a [[SuperpowerLottery healthy variety of psychic talents]].
* ''Film/{{Push}}''. The premise is that people are born with different powers, and each are given a shorthand term for whatever power they are born with:
** Pushers are able to use MindControl. Really, it's MoreThanMindControl, since it works by implanting and overwriting memories and "pushing" thoughts into people's minds.
** Wipers are able to erase certain parts of a person's memory.
** Movers are telekinetic. Advanced movers are able to generate shields and enhance their punches and kicks.
** Shifters are [[MasterOfIllusion illusionists]], allowing them to morph any object of their choice, though it seems the object does have to be of the same relative size of the object it's being shifted to, and it's temporary.
** Stitchers have HealingHands, albeit very painful, and capable of [[TouchOfDeath working in reverse]].
** Sniffers can see anywhere that an object has ever been and who's used it. They get their name as their ability works by sniffing the object, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
** Watchers predict the future.
** Shadows can cancel out Sniffers. Extremely powerful ones can cancel out Watchers.
* Samara Morgan and her Japanese counterpart Sadako Yamamura, from ''Film/TheRing'' films wield all these abilities, and then some, to tremendous effect. However, in contrast to [[PersonOfMassDestruction the novel version]] (see below) their powers are more sedate.
* The titular KillerRobot of ''Film/{{ROTOR}}'' has "sensor recall", meaning it can look at a scene and see events from the past.
* ''Film/{{Rubber}}'' is a film about a tire that kills people with its psychic powers.
* The psychics in ''Film/{{Scanners}}'' not only control thoughts, they can alter your biological functions (heartrate, etc.) and really powerful ones can make YourHeadASplode. They're also really good at [[{{Technopath}} controlling computers with their mind]], as they also have "nervous system", and telekinesis is added later on. Spawned a series of films of [[{{Sequelitis}} increasingly lower quality]].
* In ''Film/Serenity2005'', River Tam's psychic powers are finally confirmed.
* ''Film/{{Shrooms}}'': After eating the deathcap, Tara seems to have gained powers of precognition. It's left deliberately vague as to whether this is the case or not.
* The kid in the ''Film/TheSixthSense'' could see dead people.
* In ''Film/SplitSecond1992'', cop Harley Stone has a mysterious psychic connection to the killer; he can predict where he first strikes upon his return and sense his presence by hearing the killer's beating heart. His partner Dick Durkin thinks it's because he's a Scorpio.
* ''Franchise/StarWars'': [[SentientCosmicForce The Force]] includes many of these, most notably telekinesis, empathy, precognition, and mind control. It also includes telepathy (as when Vader is able to talk to Luke telepathically, or when Luke is able to call for help to Leia on Bespin).
** ''Franchise/StarWarsLegends'' (the old ExpandedUniverse) took these powers, and ran with them beyond ridiculous — up to and including the "Force Storm", which creates a wormhole that can destroy entire fleets of ships.
** There are the Kiffar, a species of humanoids with a relatively high occurrence of psychometrics.
* In [[Film/StarshipTroopers the film]] [[InNameOnly based on]] ''Literature/StarshipTroopers'', the telepath Carl plays a small but pivotal role. He shows up again in a much larger role in the vaguely related TV series and as noted in that section his powers are stronger and more varied.
* The serial killer Ben O'Ryan in ''Film/SuspectZero'' has the ability of remote viewing, which he uses to see through the eyes of his future victims. These abilities seem to overlap with a bit of [[{{Seers}} precognition]] as well.
* The telepath Kuato and various other mutants in the original ''Film/TotalRecall1990''.
* ''Film/WhatWomenWant'' revolves around a chauvenistic JerkAss gaining the ability to read the minds of women after an accident with an ElectrifiedBathtub.
* ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'':
** [[Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast Kitty Pryde]] describes Professor X as "the most powerful brain in the world," and [[Film/XMenApocalypse Stryker]] similarly calls him "the world's most powerful psychic." [[Film/XMenFirstClass Sebastian Shaw]] is so impressed by the strength of Xavier's telepathy that he tries to recruit Charles even though Shaw already has a formidable psychic as his second-in-command. (This indicates that Shaw considers Xavier's mutation to be more potent than Emma Frost's.) Professor X's gift is why [[spoiler:[[Film/XMenApocalypse Apocalypse]] covets his "extraordinary" abilities--the best that he has encountered in "a thousand lifetimes"--and selects him to be his next mutant host]].
** Jean Grey possesses [[{{Telepathy}} telepathy]] almost to Xavier's level, has MindOverMatter abilities that can get really destructive and [[PowerFloats can float]] as part of her powers.
** Emma Frost's in ''Film/XMenFirstClass'', which she uses for MasterOfIllusion purposes.
* The superhero film ''Film/ZoomAcademyForSuperheroes'' has a hot red-headed telekinetic teen (hmm, [[ComicBook/JeanGrey where did they get that idea?]]) and the [[{{Invisibility}} Invisible Man]] also develops "mindsight".
