* ''VideoGame/AITheSomniumFilesNirvanaInitiative'': The Masked Woman is covered from head to ankle, but she lacks shoes even though it's late in the winter. When asked why she doesn't wear shoes, she says rats don't wear shoes, [[spoiler:foreshadowing her past as a "lab rat"]]. Amusingly, she does wear slippers when she's inside people's houses.
* Hurthlings from ''VideoGame/AncientDomainsOfMystery'' do not like shoes and get a dexterity penalty for wearing them.
* ''VideoGame/{{Battleborn}}'' has Thorn, an elven ranger who only wears one boot. This is a trait shared by her race, as Aelfrin live in a heavily wooded environment and the boot helps give them better traction, when jumping from tree to tree; while the bare foot allows them to maintain contact with nature.
* Played with in ''VideoGame/BlazeUnion''. Mizer ''loves'' shoes, but he's made an oath to go barefoot until the poor are no longer oppressed.
* In ''VideoGame/CookieRunKingdom's'' splash art of [[TomboyPrincess Princess Cookie]], you can see that she seems to be barefoot underneath her dress.
* ''VideoGame/DisneyDreamlightValley'': Just like in their source films, Moana, Maui, and Rapunzel are always barefoot. The player can also go barefoot if they wish.
* In ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'', ''three'' ladies go barefoot: [[BeautyEqualsGoodness Cosmos]], [[{{Stripperific}} The Cloud Of Darkness]], and [[TheVamp Ultimecia]], plus one more ([[{{Miko}} Yuna]]). Lots of people suspect the ''Dissidia'' designs were intended to target as many fetishes as possible, this is part of the reason why. Cosmos is a goddess, and as such isn't expected to wear shoes; Cloud of Darkness is a [[HiveMind Hive Minded]] creature who happens to be the embodiment of the [[PowerOfTheVoid Void]] who's true form doesn't actually ''look'' like that; Yuna's lack of shoes comes from her source material (shoes get in the way when you do the Sending on the surface of a lake, apparently)... No clue about Ultimecia.
* In ''VideoGame/DivinityOriginalSin2'', elves go barefoot. Equipping an item that would put boots on a human, dwarf, or lizard becomes ankle braces or shin guards on an elf. The sole exception is [[EvilSorceror Ryker]], and his odd manner of dress feeds into his unsettling demeanor.
* Corrin of ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'' goes barefoot at all times. WordOfGod states that due to their Dragon blood, their feet are much tougher than those of regular humans, so footwear is simply not necessary. True to form, virtually all of their variants in ''Heroes'' are barefoot, even the seasonal ones. Their child, Kana, constantly goes barefoot, too.
** Similar to Corrin, Azura goes barefoot at all times, [[ExposedToTheElements even in terrain and climates where that would be quite difficult]], wearing only a single anklet. This is most likely to make it easier for her to dance, which she does at several important points in the game. To press the point even further, virtually all of her alternate outfits in ''Heroes'', save for a single seasonal variant, depict her barefoot as well.
* Milla Basset from ''VideoGame/FreedomPlanet'' is the the only cast member to be a BarefootCartoonAnimal; her description in [[http://spacemanstrife.deviantart.com/art/Milla-the-Hound-Child-Sketch-by-R-No71-311455282 this art of her]] notes "she has a strong connection to the earth" alongside this fact, implying her to be an EarthyBarefootCharacter. Considering this is from a cast full of {{Fully Dressed Cartoon Animal}}s, this would also make her an {{inver|tedTrope}}sion of TheOneWhoWearsShoes.
* A mobile roguelike RPG called ''[[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tactcat.downearly Hadashi no Shojo]]'' (or just ''[[GratuitousEnglish Girl barefoot]]'') involves a girl named Ena who wants to strengthen her feet by walking through a dungeon. There are shoe items that you can pick up, but, while your stamina doesn't drain off while Ena wears shoes, they don't net her experience points.
* ''VideoGame/HarryPotterQuidditchWorldCup'': All of the Australian team members wear no shoes.
* ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda'':
** ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess'': With the exception of [[TheUsurper Zant]], the Twili all go barefoot. It's implied that the [[EldritchLocation Twilight Realm]] where they have lived for ages doesn't have enough resources to make the necessary materials for footwear or other clothing.
** ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword'': Unlike the people of Skyloft, no one living on the surface wears shoes, whether that be more humanlike characters like [[{{Ninja}} Impa]] or [[TheDragon Ghirahim]], or any of the other surface races like the Mogmas or the Gorons.
** ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTearsOfTheKingdom'': The people in the distant founding era of (this iteration of) Hyrule did not wear shoes, whether that was the [[{{Precursors}} Zonai]] or the ancient ancestors of the Hylians and the Gerudo (with the latter including [[BigBad Ganondorf]], notably the first time an incarnation of Ganondorf has not worn shoes).
* In ''VideoGame/LittleNightmares'', the child protagonists never wear shoes despite there being shoes their size lying around.
* ''VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneySpiritOfJustice'' [[spoiler:Armie Buff]] is revealed to be this. [[spoiler: Her overall appearance comes at a surprise to everyone in the court as she was [[BehindTheBlack present on one half of the trial as a drone]]. Even as a wheelchair-bound orphan, she doesn't have a proper reason to remain shoeless in the court, - or anywhere, at this matter, - so her barefootedness mostly seems to emphasize her nature as a {{Hikikomori}}. Not to mention that after her case is over, she gets out of the wheelchair and stands on the floors of the Defendant Lobby, still without any footwear.]]
* Maylene from the ''VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl'' games, dubbed "The Barefoot Fighting Genius". Perhaps because she's a Fighting-type specialist, she believes it's healthier for one to go barefoot. In ''Platinum'', she remains barefoot even while walking to [[SlippySlideyIceWorld Snowpoint City]]! Her Sync Move with her Medicham in ''VideoGame/PokemonMasters'' is even called Barefoot High Jump Kick.
* Katrina in ''Videogame/QuestForGloryIV'' is only seen with any kind of footwear on, during one scene, [[spoiler: when she's torturing the hero for snooping around her castle.]] Prior to that, when she's in her peasant girl disguise, she's barefoot.
** In ''Videogame/QuestForGloryV'', [[spoiler: if the hero chooses to bring her back to life]], Katrina resumes going barefoot. This might be partly due to her being a former [[UndeadBarefooter vampire]] and being unused to mortal life (evidenced by her new home's enchantment, making it always nighttime there). Then again, given that she has the powers of [[MagicalBarefooter flight and teleportation]], it might just be a display of power. (Which would be fitting in the end, if she [[spoiler: marries the hero and becomes his Queen, if he accepts the King's crown.)]] In any case...
* Sam from ''Franchise/SamAndMax'' my not seem like he counts due to being a FunnyAnimal and [[BarefootCartoonAnimal therefore not expected to wear shoes, even if he is otherwise fully dressed]]. However, ''VideoGame/SamAndMaxBeyondTimeAndSpace'' does clearly state that Sam doesn't like wearing shoes suggesting this trope. The same game even has him be called "The Shoeless Dog", implying his barefootedness is unusual.
* Frye of ''VideoGame/Splatoon3'' only wears a pair of "socks" that leave her toes fully exposed.
* ''Franchise/StreetFighter'': ''A lot'' of characters in this series seem to follow this trope, [[MartialArtistsAreAlwaysBarefoot likely due to being martial artists]]. Notable exceptions include Cammy, Chun-Li, Cody, Guile, Balrog, M. Bison, Zangief, Sakura, and Vega.
* Koa, the main player character from the farming and exploration sim ''VideoGame/SummerInMara'' is a true island girl and explorer, bare feet and all. [[EarthyBarefootCharacter Her character bio details that she especially enjoys the feeling of warm soil under her soles after the sun sets.]] The developers have even stated that if they ever get around to adding clothing customization and crafting, you ''still'' won't be able to put anything on her feet (save maybe ankle bracelets).
* Myosotis, the player character of a Flash-based adventure game, ''VideoGame/TheTraderOfStories: Bell's Heart'', remains shoeless throughout the entire game and still prefers to walk that way even though she's heading to the peak of a cold and icy mountain. In the sequel, ''A Grain of Truth'', not only is Myosotis still barefoot, but most of the people she meets are also barefoot.
* With the transmogrification feature, ''Videogame/WorldOfWarcraft'' players have the option to give their avatars the appearance of bare feet, (a popular notion among players) without losing the benefit of having a foot gear item equipped.
