* A legendary mutant that became the vessel to a powerful force in the stars, the being known to many as [[ThePhoenix Pheonix]] was once a member of the X-Men as Jean Grey. Getting into a relationship with Scott Summers aka Cyclops, she grew close with her fellow teammate until the [[ComicBook/TheDarkPhoenixSaga the rise of Dark Phoenix]]. While she was able to survive the dark influence of her new powers, the various "children" resembling herself would haunt her for years to come until her flame had finally been put out with the Phoenix's ''Endsong''. Then, she woke up to find herself in the Pantheon unaware she had been ascended [[DeathIsCheap because of her various rebirths and deaths]].
* After witnessing a friendly sparring match between [[Manga/SaintSeiya Phoenix Ikki]] and [[Manga/{{Hellsing}} Alucard]] (ended in a draw, both fighters claiming it was fun. Event was also known as the Big Bang) Jean has become completely paranoid that one of them will take the position away from her. In fear, she has barricaded herself inside her temple and hasn't been seen since. This prevented her from doing her godly duties. The council of greater gods is reviewing the situation.
* Was described to be unstable before with frequent mood (and lover) swings. Some say it was her time of the month, others that she's schizo.
* Gone missing recently. Alucard is the main suspect. Alucard could not be reached for a comment. His assistant informed us that her master is "enjoying a restful night with a warm drink".
* The Marvel Gods concluded that Jean must be in one of those "cycles" that comes as part of her being merged with the Phoenix Force cosmic entity. The phoenix force perpetually recreates itself, granting great power to its users while also scouring planets so that new life may arise.
** HOWEVER, during a recent [[ComicBook/AvengersVSXMen confrontation]] over whether the force could be used for good, Scarlet Witch and Hope Summers dispersed the Force with Chaos Magic, causing it to disappear from all known locations within the present pantheon. With this occurrence, Johnson declared that Jean Grey, being trapped within the force, was In Practice physically incapable of being the Goddess of Life & Rebirth. Therefore he gave Ikki a more permanent title of God Regent. Unfortunately, [[Pantheon/LawAndJustice Phoenix Wright]] was defending that day, and using the Comic Book defense (nobody stays dead in comics), kept Jean a position as Goddess in exile, but who could return to reclaim the title whenever they're ready to use her character again.
* Recent arrivals into the pantheon have created worried among several gods who felt it was time for Jean to return to her temple. Some felt this was a bad decision while others were hoping she could return.
* [[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3 Jean took part in the crisis crossover with the Capcom universe]]. While in the end, they defeated [[Pantheon/{{Consumption}} Galactus]] [[FaceHeelTurn The Phoenix entity decided to create some chaos becoming a new threat for the heroes of both worlds]].
* She gets along well with Mary Jane Watson. Both seem to love the style of their hair and [[Creator/JoeQuesada both seem to be annoyed by a man named Joe]].
* [[{{Shipping}} Certain fans were curious about her thoughts on the couple she helped create in a way in Emma and Scott]]. While she is not a fan of Emma or Scott's recent actions she knows love is something that's special. She might want things to be different, but in the end, their love for each other is something she can't ruin for her selfish desires. They also might along on certain occasion, but also can get into arguments with each other shortly afterwards.
* During her travels in the pantheon she came across the [[Pantheon/{{Heroism}} Female Commander Shepard]]. They began to speak, and they both noticed they had the same kind of [[Creator/JenniferHale voice]].
* [[Pantheon/NamingConvention James Bond]] is scared of her, as Jean [[Creator/FamkeJanssen looks exactly like]] [[Film/GoldenEye Xenia Onatopp]]. [[Film/XMenApocalypse Her younger version]] has brought the attention of all ''Pantheon/ASongOfIceAndFire'' deities, wondering when [[Creator/SophieTurner Sansa Stark]] got all those powers.
* She has started training newer deities who happen to also wield [[PsychicPowers Telekinetic abilities like herself]]. Both Fubuki and Tatsumaki were impressed by mental prowess Jean had not to mention her various outfits ranging from the [[SensualSpandex marvellous]], to the [[EvilCostumeSwitch frighting]], and the [[{{Dominatrix}} dominating kind]].
** Hope has taken quite the liking to Jean despite the fact they look resemble [[StrongFamilyResemblance a mother and daughter]], the both of them aren't really genetically related to the surprise of several deities. Still, Jean hopes that she can help this heir to the powers of the Phoenix in controlling that sensation with enough experience under her belt.
* Two heroes from a [[Franchise/TheDCU rival universe]] encountered Jean once with Hal expressing pity over the constant predicament she has in ''dealing'' with the [[GrandTheftMe Phoenix]]. J'onn, however, was quite impressed by the level of [[{{Telepathy}} Telepathic]] strength the mutant possessed considering working with her on dealing with many problems in their field of expertise.
* On one occasion when the Phoenix was overtaking Jean's mind, ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} managed to calm her down. Afterwards, both women befriended each other, their bonding helped by the fact that [[ComicBook/{{Batgirl}} Supergirl's best friend]] is a redhead. Jean was surprised to learn Kara serves in a [[ComicBook/LegionOfSuperHeroes team co-led by a female telepath]], and noted ruefully both of them are best known by stories where they sacrificed their lives.
** Some deities have wondered whether the Pre-Crisis Supergirl -who was able to relight a star- can defeat Phoenix Jean -who can snuff a sun out- in a kind of ultimate "Brains vs Brawn" duel. Both women put a stop to the debate when they declared they're NOT cat-fighting.
* Jean Grey knows she's lives many lives, and like the Phoenix [[BackFromTheDead she returns from the ash]] Recently she has been [[ComicBook/PhoenixResurrection revealed to be returning to the main Marvel universe in her older form]] much to the shock and horror of many.
-->''We come into this world alone and we leave the same way. The time we spent in between - time spent alive, sharing, learning together... is all that makes life worth living.''

* Long ago, [[UsefulNotes/{{Mars}} the fourth rock from the sun]] was a lush reddish-green planet with a booming civilization. However, tragedy struck and all life on Mars perished. All except for the Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onzz. After wallowing on a planet of corpses, he was transported through space-time to Earth by Professor Erdel. Until his discovery by other superheroes, J'onn J'onzz spent his time helping the police as Detective John Jones, utilizing his telepathy and shape-shifting to do so. He's used this skill to infiltrate and investigate the House of Crime, making sure they aren't planning something against the pantheon.
* Was very happy to learn that water had been found on Mars, seeing it as a second chance for life to thrive.
* [[IronWoobie Living through the genocide of your race is bad enough]]. The salt in that wound is that, rather than a natural cataclysm or some standard tyrant ([[CosmicRetcon at first]]), it was the work of [[CainAndAbel his own brother Malefic]] who brought an end to planet Mars. Why? [[ItsAllAboutMe Because they took away his psychic powers as punishment]] for being a [[SerialRapist serial]] [[MindRape mind-rapist]]. Because of this, the Martian Manhunter holds special contempt to [[TheQuisling those that would wage war]] [[BoomerangBigot against their own kind]], like Ragyo and Acnologia.
* Due to familial experiences, J'onn J'onzz helps to guard good-aligned members of the House of Family from familial traitors and usurpers. The Martian Manhunter absolutely '''HATES''' Doctor Weil. Just like his brother, the mad doctor wishes to bring misery to his entire world [[ItsAllAboutMe for a punishment he rightly deserved]]. He swears that one day, he will [[HurlItIntoTheSun throw Weil into the hottest star he can find once he gets a hold of him]]. At first, the Martian Manhunter was apprehensive at being with [[Pantheon/TimeAndTemporality The Doctor]], due to [[GenocideFromTheInside supposedly destroying his people]]. After talking, and realizing [[TrickedOutTime he only "seemed" to do so]], the two came to an understanding.
* Despite the Martian Manhunter's power, he has [[KryptoniteFactor a major weakness]]: [[KillItWithFire Fire]]. While a FlyingBrick, J'onn J'onzz is even more vulnerable to flame than an average human. Part of which comes from a powerful pyrophobia due in part to flames being what made his world barren. Though a huge AchillesHeel, it is advised to never try and cure this weakness, as it's a genetic lock holding back [[EnemyWithin the Burning Martian Fernus]]. [[AxCrazy A violent]], [[AlwaysChaoticEvil destructive race]], the Burning Martians had to be sealed away by giving their Green Martian forms a fire vulnerability. When this lock was temporarily broken, it almost resulted in the slaughter of the Justice League and end of the world.
* Out of vulnerability to fire, the Martian Manhunter stays clear away from the House of Pantheon/FireAndHeat. He has a special level of contempt for Deathwing, who's [[AxCrazy utter lunacy]] makes it hard for him to even use his telepathy against him. In spite of said weakness, the Martian Manhunter is fine with aligning towards kind-hearted pyromancers, like Zuko.
* Due to his Martian physiology, J'onn J'onzz is one of the strongest telepaths out there. He has taken a liking to Tate and Liza, who he is training them to hone their psychic powers. As a result of his telepathic ability, the Martian Manhunter is very vulnerable to MindRape by the likes of the Chaos Gods or utterly maddened people like [[Pantheon/{{Laughter}} The Joker]]. He keeps his mental distance away from [[Pantheon/FormMentalities Ermac]]; last time he tried to read [[IAmLegion his mind]], [[AMindIsATerribleThingToRead getting a massive migraine from it]].
* Marceline has come to him for help, so that the Ice King may be cured. J'onn J'onzz attempted to remove his insanity. However, was only able to give Simon control for a couple of minutes before straining under the crown's wish magic. He isn't able to try again for a few days, but it's still better than nothing.
* J'onn has led several incarnations of the League and guided several young heroes like ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} or Stargirl. In [[Series/Supergirl2015 an alternate universe]], he acts as a kind of surrogate father for the young Kryptonian.
* While powerful in his own right, [[ComicBook/DCOneMillion in the far future the Martian Manhunter is destined to become much stronger.]] After defeating Darkseid millennia from now, he fuses with [[GeniusLoci Mars itself]]. There, he serves as its guardian and a god-like figure up to and beyond [[TimeAbyss the 853rd century]]. In the 410th century, J'onn J'onzz has a tenuous alliance with the Emperor of Mankind. Even in [[CrapsackWorld the grim-darkness of that era]], he refuses to sacrifice his moral code and helps protect aliens from [[FantasticRacism humanity]]. [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice Now able to communicate and give reforms]], the Emperor of Mankind and J'onn J'onzz have an icy but valued alliance.
* The Martian Manhunter ''[[MarsWantsChocolate loves Oreos]]'', to the point of [[AlienCatnip being like nicotine to him]]. [[NoodleIncident The Cookie Monster has been banned from associated from him for this reason]]. To keep the Earth's greenery plentiful, the Martian Manhunter works with Celebi and Shaymin.
* Got along like chocolate and peanut butter with Piccolo, the other stoic, green alien of the pantheon. The two can be seen together in the House of Combat, fighting it out in order to further hone their abilities.

* Before the city, before the vistas, before moments of the ForeverWar and perhaps the naming of the Pantheon itself, there lies an ancient place buried underneath the lands. It was a mere myth they said, that a place would wield some of the most advanced forms of power, yet no one would believe such malarkey. However, the histories of the Pantheon have only small records of its existence, and for good reason: to prevent the masses of ever knowing such place. An underground cavern came to be discovered on the old times of the Pantheon, and all would link to an unfamiliar sight on the shores the same day it was found.
** On the shores, one of the teams found an unforeseen sight, a woman, clad in black, was found on the shores of the Pantheon, distraught at the sight she has found herself into. After being picked up for identification, the resident archaeologist team found a gigantic place, a place surrounded by arch-stones which lead to different places of a once proud kingdom. While the team were studying, the woman that was rescued disappeared from the recovery team and was found standing in front of the archaeologists, introducing the place they were standing on: the Nexus.
-->'''Maiden in Black''': "This is the Nexus. It holds together the northern land of Boletaria. Thou canst not exit the Nexus, but each of the five Archstones will connect thee to another node."
** Years after the discovery, the Nexus and its' Maiden were soon forgotten. Gone were the days of the potential findings of the lore of such place, as well as the possible entrance to the once beloved kingdom, as it was replaced by the introduction of numerous soul-based deities as well as the enraging war the Pantheon seeped itself into. And at one point, the entrance to the Nexus was naturally sealed, hoping to wait until one person discovered it once more. That came true when the Chosen Undead and Bearer of the Curse saw a small opening and located the hub world, with the Maiden approaching to them with the intention of their empowerment via the souls the two have gathered.
* As soon as the Nexus was rediscovered, the House of Pantheon/DeathAndPostmortem felt a breeze, with numerous souls in silence. The gods were confused as to what has happened to their vicinity, but very few were aware of what is to come, that the Nexus and it being found once more may reintroduce the Pantheon to the Soul Arts, a very old, if not ancient, power that has existed from the very beginning of humanity's creation. The Maiden's purpose on this case is to be the handler of the Soul Arts and the caretaker of the Nexus as well as the guide to the kingdom her hub world is connected into, where adventurers may setup for the journey they will be headed to and vanquish the demons within.
** However, she is not alone. Deep within the Nexus lies an ancient [[EldritchAbomination Old One]], a demonic being that consumes the souls through the fog it shrouds kingdoms into. Its power comes from those who practice and utilize the Soul Arts, and when the power was at its peak, the Old One awoke and covered the first kingdom into fog, releasing demons and monsters to feed it. It was this very thing that lead to the First Scourge and also the banishment of the Soul Arts, where it would be awaken again by a melancholic king, beginning the Second Scourge that terrorized Boletaria. One would ask why she would be the caretaker of the Nexus when the Old One is right below it, but in truth, [[HumanoidAbomination behind her human exterior is perhaps one of the most powerful demons of her kind]] [[spoiler:and the mother to the Old One [[ExtremeDoormat if theories are to go by]]]].
* The very moment her presence was revealed once more, her ''disappointed'' feelings came to be after introduction by the Chosen Undead. This attitude of hers comes from the fact that her life has revolved so much on both the Nexus and the Old One that it has rendered her immortal for good, and killing her will only bring her back, hence her disappointment of being alive. This, alongside her otherworldly power, has made her the only source to lull the Old One back to slumber should it awaken, at the cost of the Soul Arts being forgotten forever. It has been the reason for the power's lack of popularity, for when the Soul Arts have been massively used to the point of awakening it, she would come down and make it sleep, stopping the scourge in sacrifice of the Arts.
* Being the very first to transfer souls to the person who brought it in, it arguably made her the prototype of the [[Pantheon/GamingGenresNToZ new wave of Fire Keepers]], perhaps being even the mother to all of them. This form of empowerment allowed her to become the new maiden for the Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse and Ashen One as her soul manipulation allows her to increase their power, making her the substitute for the trio. Eventually the arrival of [[Pantheon/GameCharacters Solaire of Astora]] made it four instead, but he often stays in the Nexus more than the others, seeing it as a place they can stay in the case of the loss of bonfires.
** More similarities came in when the Hunter stepped in. She has tried to empower him with her souls but was unable to do so, as the Hunter relies on the echoes of blood [[spoiler:that and the fact that the Hunter may even reach Greater God levels [[GoldenEnding thanks to him becoming an eldritch being]]]], seeing him as powerful already to support him. What piqued her interest was the companion he brought in, the Plain Doll, who considers the Maiden [[SpiritualSuccessor to be a long lost relative]], in relation to similar themes. Despite this, the Maiden is much more powerful than her and holds more responsibility towards the hub she controls.
* Unlike the responses received by most soul-based deities, reception towards her was cold, no one able to recognize her and only seem to dislike her even further following the potential she can do to numerous souls. [[DarkIsNotEvil Her sinister looks does not help the case]]. Those who stayed in the House of Pantheon/DeathAndPostmortem saw what she can do and thanks to her connection to the ever-crucial Nexus appointed her to be one of the key members to the status quo of the Pantheon, as her soul manipulation and her neutral stance made her the perfect representative and perhaps, the Overseer of most of the souls bound within the Pantheon.
** This decision was made by one of the few deities who understands her purpose: Death who was one of the few to recognize her powers and her ever-growing maintenance of the Nexus. It was he who allowed her to become attached to the state of the Pantheon regarding life and death and made it so that both are responsible for those within the boundaries of the soul, and her powers fit nicely to such profession. Most grim reaper deities however object this, as they think the Maiden will just steal their jobs (and for some steal their food resource) but then again, [[ArmorPiercingQuestion when you are immortal for the sake of the maintenance of souls, what choice really is there outside of it]]?
** Those who oppose it are mostly those who have gotten used to the soul business they have been a part of, whether it be for those who take human souls for their benefit such as Ryuk or those who wants the souls as part of their desire for power such as Crowley. Some however take her presence as sublime, with Charon among those who tolerate her presence. Just a shame that she might take the souls of those who will join Charon's ferry and use those for empowerment to people like the Chosen Undead.
* What makes her unique is her unparalleled power of the domain she serves. Being one of the few to empower others through other souls to awaken their inner power, as some may indicate [[VideoGame/DemonsSouls that the world they live in]] may have an upmost importance on mankind's own soul, as it is the key to their strength. One may also say that the entity that created humanity may also have not trusted their own creations, and as a result, created the Old One that would eventually haunt the very creations it made.
** As a result, her consultation was filled with deities who have experienced anything related to souls, from artifacts to even specific powers. The first to attend outside of the aforementioned four was the Paladin Artix von Krieger. When she saw his soul, she was surprised to see a pure soul [[spoiler:alongside a co-existing dark soul, the Champion of Darkness]]. He came to visit her in regards to Spirit Orbs, and how she can immensely increase its power. When he saw what she can do in her domain, he decided to entrust her with the Spirit Orbs, as while they may be unable to be controlled once freed by him, she has the ability to manipulate it including empowering its user with the souls imbued within it. As a result, she has become one of Artix's personal helpers since she has access to the Spirit Orbs.
** More assistance came in when the Dovahkiin stepped into the Nexus where she saw all the dragon souls he has taken from many dragons, which impressed her and gave him a huge boost from all the souls he gathered. The Hollow Knight also stepped in as, much like the Chosen Undead up to the Ashen One, he is also blessed by the souls he collects, has made her his substitute for powering up which he will need as the Radiance has become a threat once again. Then after those two, came even more visitors, with Dust among those who asked for her guidance on his identity, which she has accepted and visits her from time to time and Sir Daniel Fortesque who also has been told by her that he is a good soul and would like to also help him from Zarok, also known to manipulate souls for his own evil goals.
** This extends to everything soul-related, from Personas to even Grief Seeds. She has the ability to increase its power and/or change the soul entirely, possibly even purifying it from its original state. Such was the interesting case when the Puella Magi visited her for consultation, and Madoka asking about the Grief Seeds' nature. While indeed it is corrupted, she can only say that it is built from the roots of Soul Gems, meaning Soul Gems are bound to become Grief Seeds at a certain point. Hearing this, she has promised to her if she may no longer meddle with such, as to protect the burden of all fallen Magi. She carefully respected this wish and gave back the seeds, declining anyone with Grief Seed requests.
*** Personas are more often than not based on the user's soul and has intrinsic connections to it, so it would make sense for many Persona users to visit the Maiden in the hopes she could increase their powers just albeit for their own liking.
** For all her work unfortunately attracted foes for her to face, and the more observant foes she has been facing were the Daedric Princes, deities with their own domains filled with numerous souls. Some of the princes have admitted that the Maiden might be equal or even more powerful than they expected her to be, but some do not give up, and this was the case with Molag Bal, who considers the Maiden to be the barrier between the souls he can snatch from the Pantheon. He has come to hate her in with passion and unless she disappears in any other way, Molag's days of soul snatching may be halted. And this just doesn't limit to the Princes, this also extends to more powerful beings, from Diablo himself, who considers her a disgrace of a demon, to even the Chaos Gods, as they too have a realm of souls, well ''formerly'' a realm of souls until they came and turned whatever the realm is into an unholy nightmarish mesh of all thoughts good and bad and much like the Princes, consider her a rather problematic roadblock for either to take any soul they come across. Does not help that she has become one of the overseers of the Pantheon status quo, making her a prime target for these powerful deities to keep an eye out for.
** As if facing powerful divine entities was not bad enough, her abilities were among those sought out by those who hunger or crave the power of the soul. When Bison and Shang Tsung heard of the Nexus, they stormed inside in an attempt to coerce her to empowering them. She refused, forcing the two to drag her out of the place or die. They did the latter with Bison repeatedly punching her and Shang Tsung sucking her powers dry, [[GameplayAllyImmortality until she rose back again thanks to the Nexial Binding]]. After repeated tries the duo gave up and dragged her outside, until they realized they couldn't even get her out of the Nexus due to her connection with it. At that point, they gave up until the Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse, Solaire and the Ashen One were behind them and gave the two a smackdown. Since then, they have been eyeing on her presence and looking for those who are either soul-hungry or filled with numerous souls and this came to fruition when Ermac, Gul'dan and the Shadow Fiend joined in, with the former duo wanting to add her and the souls she harbors to his collection and the latter seeing her to be quite delicious for his soul appetite. Not to mention the latter is known for eating other demons' own souls but there will be a price for that though.
* Some deities such as the God Emperor of Mankind and Yoh Asakura have seen immense respect for her, on Emps he believes she can help recover his split souls so that he may finally recover from the Golden Throne, and on Yoh, she can help him maintain his role as the Shaman King. Her opinion on them is surprisingly similar but she's split on Emps as while he is reasonable on his goals, his actions, [[IDidWhatIHadToDo not so much]].
* She has an experience when it comes to those who are known to eat souls, as mentioned by her sympathy towards Merkava to her hostile relationships between Diablo, the Shadow Fiend and the Daedric Princes. This is demonstrated to her ability to quell the Old One, also a consumer of souls one albeit eldritch in nature. If she can lull it to sleep, she may be able to do it to those mentioned, but it may cost her. The real confusion starts with those born or created from multiple souls, with Ermac, Soul Calibur and Nightmare being special cases. She may see the souls within but are unable to modify or change it in any way unless they are freed, which is not helped by the fact that the deities mentioned have their identities made by other souls meaning they do not have an original identity.
* Several deities who's own souls have been merged are tricky cases. Some may even be unrepairable due to the damage done to it and as a result cannot be returned to its original state. Often times she will decline to help if the damage is too much to bear and worse of the soul is more than what she can normally handle unless it is necessary to do so where she will have to make changes. This was her unfortunate case with both Red and the Transistor and Yui Ikari, as the former went to the Nexus in a desperate bid to bring her beloved back from the sword into his original body, which she cannot as his soul is bound to the Transistor and on Yui's case, it has become more complicated by the fact that she ''is'' Evangelion Unit-01 and that [[spoiler:her actions of activating Instrumentality]] forcibly distanced her from whatever requests she has.
** Requests were denied by her when tackling beasts, or more specifically those that have gone mad similar to that of a monster, which she has experienced with three swordsmen Gael, Artorias and Ludwig and one that is an actual monster Merkava. She claims that their souls have irreparable damage and may never be able to recover it back, save for Artorias who has been able to control his abyssal corruption for a certain amount of time. Ludwig's soul has been bound to the Hunters' Nightmare and his body can no longer be turned to its original state, and for Gael, all hands were off [[spoiler:the moment she saw the Dark Soul of Man inside him]] realizing that this is something she cannot handle only by herself. Same could also be said for Merkava, because while he may have self-awareness, his hunger ends up neutering it, rendering all attempts futile.
** Of all those she has denied, she has the most pity towards the Fabrication Machine, a machination whose lack of a soul left it completely omnicidal. Thanks to a few who were able to consult to her about its situation, she is trying to form a new soul that is capable of housing it, however it will take more time as creating an original soul is harder than it sounds, much less when she is known for utilizing ''other'' souls as opposed to creating another one.
** And then there is the undead, another case where she has denied any call for as the topic of the undead is a domain she is well outside of. She may handle the souls but when the souls are controlled from a "living" standpoint whilst supposedly deceased, she may or may not have the power to control it. She does however oppose the idea as souls are better off let go rather than being brought up once more. Both Nagash and Arthas has vehemently hated her for her intervention, but for her she has one interest among them, that being Frostmourne, which houses many souls of those lives who have fallen against it.
*** In relation to Arthas however, she was notified when his lieutenant Kel'thuzad owns a city filled with undead souls, all while being revived back and forth used for nefarious purposes. His role as a lich only worsened the ordeal and has been making plans of possibly being able to overpower them. Not on Nagash though as his prolonged history and coupled by his enormous power may make him a much more problematic scenario.
* More special cases came in when the Homunculi were introduced. The prospect of [[ArtificialHuman having a soul attached to a fake human being]] has brought her interest, with the first coming to mind being the Elric Brothers. Alphonse in particular asked if she could bring his original body back but that is outside of her domain, what she can do however is increase Ed's alchemy. But the brothers have more pressing matters as Father saw what the Maiden was trying to do and announced her to be an enemy of the High Command, among those within the higher priorities, due to her soul manipulation being a one of the few that can rival his scheming.
* Regular humans can only see the Maiden as a human who's rather blind and barefoot, but outside of that lies the power of the Demon Soul, which many cannot see directly, or so it wouldn't be until some members of Soul Society took a gander at her. Ichigo Kurosaki immediately noticed her demonic origin and asked what else she can do outside of soul manipulation, one of which he asked was the retrieval of souls from hollows. Such request was outside of her reach, and has declined it. When he asked for his soul however, she has grown interest in a half-human half-hollow deity, and moreso on his Bankai stating that his soul is not like the others.
** This was also said on Yusuke Urameshi, who believes she and him are very similar that being humans with demonic power inside of them. But while Yusuke is a half-human, half-demon, the Maiden is more of one-fourths human and the rest being demonic, only being human in looks, further said by his compatriot Kazuma who grew some suspicion on her though it all ended when she said she was on the side of good. Though their presence only brought one of their enemies Shinobu to the table, though he has respected thoughts for her, she cannot accept him for his repugnant killing of humans.
* One would think Angels in particular would be very helpful, but on Castiel, this was not the case. For all his allegiance to heaven, he may have committed acts of heresy on heaven (by that [[spoiler:as in taking over all souls and becoming the ruler of heaven]]) and was punished for his transgressions. She has been warned not to trust him, as for all she may expect, he'll do the same again [[spoiler:though as of late, this may not be the case as his regret has overtaken him not to mention his powers as an angel being stripped for good]].
* Gwyn's life couldn't be more proud as one of the very few capable barriers against King Allant has reached into the Pantheon once more. She was allies with him back in the past when Allant's attacks against Gwyn were some of the battles that she has spectated but things suddenly changed. What was once a proud and noble king who would do anything to maintain sunlight to the world [[spoiler:may have introduced a whole new world where humanity in general was screwed from the ground up, all done by the fact that he created the Darksign, a sign that would force the humans into the dying Age of Fire as the cycle has been disrupted for his unending devotion to it. All while presenting "gifts" such as the Ringed City, his sacrifice for his own children such as Princess Filianore and even banishment of those who would oppose him such as his firstborn son, may have tarnished whatever goodwill image Gwyn had with the Maiden. The final nail in the coffin [[VideoGame/DarkSoulsIII was the creation of the Lords of Cinder and even an entire amalgamation of it, the Soul of Cinder]]]], changing her mindset towards him.
** After her "reunion" with Gwyn came one of his staunch opponents, who was intrigued by her domain and purpose. This Scholar of the First Sin was an interesting topic she partook upon herself, culminating in her finding out that [[spoiler:for all his immortality, he lacked a soul, as he split it away from the curse of the Darksign]]. This saddened her, as she realizes that Aldia is one of the very few she cannot manipulate nor change in anyway possible.
--> '''Aldia''': “So, you control the souls of the people. As if they were people in the first place. If only you knew what they have gone through. [[spoiler: Perhaps the Darksign would appeal to you]], fair maiden.”
* While few still understood the Nexus and the Maiden, one king made it his duty to never allow it to remain under power, that being the Fallen King of Boletaria King Allant, who submitted himself to the Old One after having a nihilistic mindset when even gaining souls and power were not even enough. Such is the case with her, as she has remained neutral on the subject. The King has made it clear he will clear the place and bring the witch to her knees, which he obviously cannot as she is immortal [[AndIMustScream for God knows how long]]. As his statement says to 'never go on', this also extends to her, as he also wants her to never sooth the Old One back to slumber, lest the loss of the Soul Arts and his wish to engulf all into death, and he will make sure she never does.
* Has a spot as one of the Overseers in the House of Pantheon/DeathAndPostmortem.
* ''"Soul of the lost, withdrawn from its vessel. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended. Soul of the lost, withdrawn from its vessel. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended, so the world might be mended."''

* Curious about: [[Pantheon/TheMatrix The Crew of Nebuchadnezzar]]
* Alakazam is perhaps the smartest of all Pokémon due to having an IQ of 5000, even if it still cannot learn a fifth move. Contrasting the brawny Machamp Alakazam is all-brains; a quintessential Psychic-type [[SquishyWizard who's allergic to physical attacks]]. As a Kadabra it gained a spoon, and as an Alakazam it now has two. [[SpoonBending It likes to bend them as a testament to its psychic power]]. [[SuperMode As Mega Alakazam]] it gains three new spoons and an epic beard along with an 100 BST increase. The quintessential Alakazam started [[GameBreaker as second to Mew and Mewtwo in the best Psychic types]], and even [[SquishyWizard if his physical stats are poor]] he remains a strong Pokémon.
* Upon his return to the Trope Pantheon, Alakazam first got himself reacquainted with Sabrina. Sabrina herself uses an Alakazam as her ace, and is the rare human in the Pokemon world with PsychicPowers. Another human Alakazam got to see again was Ash Ketchum: [[FriendToAllLivingThings the boy has a knack for getting along with virtually all Pokemon]], [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} and he helped Sabrina overcome her issues in the past]]. On the opposite end, he's still baffled that Hunter J is allowed to be in the Trope Pantheon [[EvilPoacher given her attitude]] [[EnemyToAllLivingThings to every Pokemon ever]]. Among his fellow Pokémon Alakazam tried to look for Slowking but came up short. However the shiny Metagross remained in the pantheon, and its supercomputer brain makes it about as smart as Alakazam. The two enjoy each other's company because of this fact.
* Alakazam is the [[BrainsAndBrawn big-brained counterpart to the bulky Machamp]], complete with the same trade evolution method. The two continue to prove to others, and each other, which strength and type is better. However this brain power comes at a cost: his muscles have atrophied and he is effectively disabled due to needing psychic powers to use his limbs unaided. [[HandicappedBadass Still no less dangerous]]. Though boasting that brain is better than brawn, the Psi Pokémon does respect those [[GeniusBruiser who can master mental and physical muscles]]. It's why he has a liking for Hercules, and especially [[ActionGirl his divine sister Athena]]. She likes Alakazam for his mental muscles, but did advise him [[BlasphemousBoast never to claim his IQ is higher than hers]].
* The Abra line usually holds the Twistedspoon, which boosts the power of Psychic-type moves. As part of his morning psychic exercise, Alakazam bends spoons first to get his attention and not fall back into the HeavySleeper schedule he had as an Abra. Jokes came out that Alakazam couldn't bend spoons as "[[Film/TheMatrix there is no spoon]]", which he ignored as he already saw the movie. However he didn't ignore Neo and friends; while he isn't invested in their cause, he does find their talk about simulated reality and philosophizing intriguing. The Psychic Pokémon has also learned about Mob's trouble with spoons due [[RunningGag to always unintentionally bending when he just wants have his soup]]. Feeling pity for him, Alakazam invented a new ultra-tough spoon that couldn't bend.
* After giving it some thought, Alakazam chose to make Shigeo Kageyama his partner. He hopes to help develop and hone Mob's psychic powers, along with learning more power and skill for himself. This got the attention of Histoire, as she remembered Alakazam being her partner the first time he was part of the Trope Pantheon. Alakazam explained this was true, however he believes he shares more in common with Shigeo than her. That said he doesn't mean to be dismissive to her, and she enjoys reading and learning with her. Ultimately, his apology was accepted.
* Alakazam is mainly known for SpoonBending, [[MundaneUtility but his psychic practice also make good cutlery]]. Chip introduced Alakazam to chocolate, ice cream [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs and chocolate ice cream]], which he enjoyed. Alakazam has picked up [[GeniusSweetTooth a bit of a sweet tooth]], and Chip was impressed by his psychic powers. He'd ask the Pokémon if he's thought of using his powers in a magic act, however Alakazam turned this down as there's some bad blood regarding his pre-evolution Kadabra. Basically US magician Uri Geller believed Kadabra was plagiarizing him due to its Japanese name ''Yungerer'' and this led to lawsuit. For some time Kadabra couldn't appear [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} in the anime]], but eventually Geller changed his mind and let Kadabra be used again. It's still kind of a sore spot and he doesn't want some shifty lawyer being an AmbulanceChaser like Lionel Hutz on him if he goes to the House of Magic and Sorcery.
* In the past Alakazam held the trope of ImprobablyHighIQ, however he requested a temporary retirement to re-think over his pantheonic position and whether it was the best choice...or so he claims. In reality people kept pestering him about proof for his absurdly high IQ by pointing out [[GameplayAndStorySegregation he was still incapable of learning a fifth move]]. The one pestering him the most? Dr Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, [[{{Pride}} who didn't take someone claiming he had a much higher IQ than him well]]. He also boasted at having a much more magnificent moustache too. Despite being a villain, Eggman and Alakazam are more rivals than anything [[VillainsOutShopping because Eggman likes having duels of the mind when he's not trying to rule the world]].
* Alakazam's ImprobablyHighIQ is so high so that the Brainspawn's stupefaction ray can't actually make him stupid, instead dropping his IQ down to the level of "average smart person". While this would make him potentially more useful for Nibbler [[TheChosenZero than Fry]], it comes with the major downside of losing the hyper-intelligence to use his psychic powers properly and leaves him needing disability support for his barely used and weak physical muscles. Together, however, they make a more effective foe against the evil brains. And while Fry's a KindHeartedSimpleton, Alakazam does note [[HiddenDepths savant]] [[SmartBall when needed]]. The Pokemon's massive brain has gotten some more negative attention from the Cybermen as though they aren't interested in upgrading non-humans for the most part, they ''are'' interested in turning Alakazam's brain into [[WetwareCPU a Cyber-planner]].
* [[EnragedByIdiocy Holds a low tolerance for stupid people like Billy]], and especially Fighter. Alakazam intellectually knows [[TokenGoodTeammate he's the least bad of the Warriors of "Light"]], but he also feels Fighter's power [[AchievementsInIgnorance to defy the laws of physics by not knowing any better]] insults his intelligence. [[BerserkButton Another way to insult his intelligence is pointing out he can't learn a fifth move with that 5000 IQ]]. He isn't fond of those who pretend to be much smarter than they are like Rafe Alder. He's not sure about his opinion on the SeeminglyProfoundFool trope, though: on one hand he should be annoyed people think Chance the Gardener is some wise man but on the other [[NotSoAboveItAll he considers the misunderstanding amusing]].
* Alakazam doesn't fit all that well in the House of Pantheon/BeastsAndFauna. Not because of any beef or prior experience, but because it's difficult to determine [[CartoonCreature what kind of beast Alakazam actually is]]. He's humanoid, has cat and goat-like features, and a segmented body akin to an arthropod. As mentioned, one defining physical trait is his magnificent moustache, so he seems to fall under AnimalFacialHair at least. Some have compared him to the wise Nicodemus, and Alakazam welcomes that comparison as he likes to talk with the more cerebral members of the House, such as Red XIII and Caesar. He was interested to learn of the compound that gave the latter human intelligence, and wonders if perhaps something like it could make him even smarter. However since his brain cells continually multiply he concluded [[MySkullRunnethOver it wasn't worth the risk]].
* [[BerserkButton Will manhandle anyone who claims]] [[MemeticMutation his IQ is from watching]] ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty''. He doesn't even like [[Pantheon/LocationsAndSettings Rick]], though in no way does he deny his intelligence. If they're not as caustic, Alakazam enjoys hanging out with the clever deities, like natural icons of wisdom such as Lex the Bookworm and Wan Shi Tong, or those like Matilda who's sheer intelligence led her to gain psychic powers just like Alakazam. On the flip side, he doesn't like those who abuse their psychic intelligence for evil, like Gorilla Grodd and Brainiac. The former feels let down by the Psi Pokémon as he's much smarter than humans, yet he lets himself be subservient in battles and never [[EvilGenius uses his mind to overthrow humans]]. Alakazam merely smirked and said "I suppose you're not smart enough to realize that'd be unfulfilling. But me? I'm happy the way way I am".
* Given his atrophied muscles, Popeye has advised him he should use his spoons and forks to try some spinach on for side and build those muscles back up. Alakazam appreciates this, but has informed him he must at first determine if spinach would even be all that good for him. It's possible that it would have a similar effect on the Abra line that it does on humans, since according to some Pokedex entries the first Kadabra was a human boy with psychic powers. This appears to be a reference to ''Literature/TheMetamorphosis'', who's character is someone the Psi Pokémon feels pity for due to their terrible situation. As such he has tried to help him, and he also tries to help Marco Pagot as he is also a man cursed to be an animal.
* Is absolutely terrified of Lolth, Ungoliant and Shelob. Because they are malicious and giant spiders who outclass Alakazam in the power scaling department, this is pretty understandable. However there's another element, as a Psychic type, Alakazam is weak to Bug and Dark type attacks. The three [[SpidersAreScary menacing spiders]] don't have "types" per-say but they fit the potential Bug/Dark typing [[DarkIsEvil like a glove]] (especially [[CastingAShadow Ungoliant]]). Asides from an arachnophobia, the Psychic type is nervous around the Hall of Pantheon/{{Ghosts}} due to Ghost type being his third weakness; the Psi Pokémon misses the day when [[GoodBadBugs a glitch made Psychic types immune to Ghost moves]].

* He joined the Pantheon after showing off the lightning-fast skills of his Stand, Star Platinum. After all, {{when all you have is| a hammer}} RapidFireFisticuffs, you have to make the most of it. It also helps that Star Platinum grants him immense accuracy so if he's hitting you, he's going for the jugulars with extreme precision.
* While technically [[LegacyCharacter the third JoJo]] in history, he's the first of them to join the Pantheon.
* Has found recent allies in the Persona users. He's quite surprised that their powers are quite similar to his.
* Has recently been getting strange looks from [[Pantheon/SpecializedNarratives Kanji Tatsumi]] due to [[Creator/MatthewMercer sounding like him]]. All he can say in response is "Yare Yare Daze".
* [[ShoutOut/KillLaKill Rumor has it]] that he designed Mako's Fight Club Uniform for her, and he's definitely impressed by her skill with it.
* Often goes to the House of Food to [[TrademarkFavoriteFood eat fajitas]].
* Was happy to see Kakyoin make it in, but was less than amused by ''how'' he was able to.
* '''Pucci pisses him off like nothing else.''' He might actually hate him more than Dio, because while Dio [[spoiler:murdered one of his comrades, almost killed his grandfather,]] and threatened his mother's life, Pucci [[spoiler: ''killed his daughter'' and essentially destroyed the entire goddamn world.]] The next time he sees Pucci, he's going beat him worse than Steely Dan, regardless if Dio's near or far.
* Shortly after the battle between [[Pantheon/{{Projectiles}} Sakuya Izayoi]] and Dio, Jotaro saw [[Pantheon/{{Tears}} Kenshiro]] looking at the loser's body. For whatever reason, Jotaro attacked, but Kenshiro got away in time…and then sent Dio flying before he could land a sneak attack. The two then engaged in battle. [[WebAnimation/OneMinuteMelee It ended in just one minute]], [[spoiler:with Jotaro coming out on top. But even with his Stand, Kenshiro's final attack simply had a delayed reaction on his body, and so he regarded him as a WorthyOpponent]]. Some say [[spoiler:[[MemeticMutation he had stuffed Shonen Jump manga in his shirt]] prior to the fight, but he's not confirming it]].
** That wouldn't be the last time Jotaro and Kenshiro clashed. [[WebAnimation/DeathBattle The two eventually met up to have another bout,]] this time somewhere in Egypt. This time, [[spoiler: Kenshiro landed one hit on Jotaro which struck a pressure point after getting around Star Platinum. Unsurprisingly, this led to Jotaro, well, [[LudicrousGibs exploding.]]]] Joseph was also there, watching the fight.
* As much as he's a very standoffish guy, he actually has respect for his very very goody-two-shoes great-great grandpa Jonathan. Said grandpa then introduced him to [[Anime/GoPrincessPrettyCure a certain Minami Kaidou]], and after sharing her dreams about being a marine biologist, which is also his dream, as well as actually hearing her tales as a Pretty Cure... well, many thought that Jotaro would be kind of sick of such an 'overly girly tale'. But he actually smirked and congratulated Minami, saying that she should be proud to fight well for what she stood for, and the story... 'bad' is one of the last things he'd say about it.
** It also helps that Minami showed him utmost respect instead of fawning on him. Jotaro is known to yell at noisy girls to "shut the hell up, it's annoying," and that usually instead makes girls fawn on him ''even more''. If that happens, he just goes away while muttering [[CatchPhrase "Yare yare daze"]] or resume his business and say that mentally.
* As a kid, he was a fan of [[Series/{{Columbo}} Columbo]] and was rather happy when he ascended into the Pantheon.
* Can also be found in Pantheon/FightingMoves.

* EvilCounterpart to: [[Pantheon/HeroicArchetypes Ness]]
* As her evil personality, frequently clashes with just about every other member of the Pantheon. As Nyuu, frequently tries to befriend them. [[spoiler:As Kaede, simply wants them all to leave her alone.]]
* This is some really fucked up person right here, and scares the shit out of a good portion of the Pantheon. It's not her life's dedication to random, senseless killing (pretty much two thirds of the Pantheon is like that anyways), [[spoiler:but the fact that it's impossible to tell whether her murderous behavior is "Nature" or "Nurture".]]
* It's only gotten worse now that she's 'married' to Johan Liebert and become the 'big sister' to Hansel and Gretel, of whom they share their passions of destroying human life. Lucy's relationship with Kouta still remains, but is purely one-sided in favor of Lucy due to being the 'wife' of an equally dangerous person.
* Ness is currently trying to either stage a takeover against Lucy or have a spot in the house as her Good Counterpart.
* Herr Doktor Tenma and some other members of the Pantheon who know of Kaede and Nyuu's (relative) innocence are formulating plans to find some way to separate the "Lucy" personality from them, likely by extracting Kaede and Nyuu and giving them their own bodies. This would perhaps allow Kaede (who is markedly less homicidal than her dark side unless provoked) to actually have a chance at happiness with Kouta and with friends. Of course, if it succeeds this is predicted to leave the "Lucy" persona wholly stripped of any goodness or restraint, including any of Kaede's or Nyuu's love of Kouta, leaving her just as evil but without anything holding her back; the general consensus amongst the would-be rescuers is "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it". To everyone's shock (and horror), [[YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame Johan has expressed support of this endeavor:]] the idea of Lucy COMPLETELY uninhibited by any concept of morality is quite tempting to him. Tenma plans to move forward regardless: he's satisfied so long as he saves Kaede and Nyu from Lucy's (and by extension Johan's) grasp. Besides, there are more than enough powerful gods in the vicinity willing and able to stop Lucy if she goes on a rampage.
* She's still pretty damn pissed about her last encounter with Magnus The Red, trying to find a way to get revenge for what he did to her in their battle.
** She did try to get her revenge by building an army of diclonii, both for the sake of fighting Magnus and for the sake of eradicating humanity. Sadly for Lucy, Magnus had forseen this, leading to him making sure that hundreds of not thousands of her followers fell to chaos and rebelled against her. Her plans are currently on hold untill she can deal with this civil war.
* Yu Narukami is currently trying to save Kaede and Nyu from Lucy's grasp, as he believes that the Lucy personality is actually her ShadowArchetype who has somehow managed to possess Kaede and Nyu. Compared to Tenma's plan, Yu's is considerably less dangerous as it doesn't involve separating three personalities into three separate bodies (thus resulting in the Lucy personality being completely unfettered, thus meaning imminent danger). Yu has identified her tarot card: The Hermit.
* Is set to fight Carnage in a WebAnimation/DeathBattle. The Pantheon has dozens of janitors on standby to cleanup the inevitable mess. [[spoiler: Thankfully, Lucy blew him up with her explosive vectors, so there was no blood. But there was a huge crater left over.]]
* Magnus the Red once tried to recruit her to join his Thousand Sons traitor legion as a psyker, seeing great potential in her abilities. She refused to join his cause, fighting back to the best of her abilities to defeat the Daemon Primarch. Despite putting up a brutal battle of pure psychic power that completely destroyed an entire planet, she found herself [[FlayingAlive flayed alive]], [[EyeScream blinded]], [[GuttedLikeAFish partially gutted]] and [[AnArmAndALeg delimbed]] by Magnus, being [[LeftForDead left on the verge of death]] until the more benevolent gods could safely heal her horrible wounds. And to rub further salt into the wound, Magnus then made sure that hundreds if not thousands of Diclonius began to fall to Chaos in order to rebel against Lucy and her followers, basically starting a civil war amongst her own people. She has sworn revenge ever since. Johan, Hansel and Gretel seem to all be staying out of this for now, so no onw knows what they think of Magnus's treatment of their "wife" and "mother" figure.
** As for said revenge, it seemingly came in the form of her former follower Alma Wade, who clashed with Magnus not long after ascending to the Pantheon, fighting him to a draw and almost causing him to lose his mind. That was quickly corrected when Alma made it clear to Lucy that she intends to take her out as well for their rivaling powers, saying she is the real Alma, not Lucy (as though Lucy had even tried to say otherwise).

* Uncertain on: [[Pantheon/{{Trickery}} Victor Von Doom]], [[Pantheon/{{Companionship}} Lilo and Stitch]]
* The Justice League of America has had many villains, however Maxwell Lord might be the only former ally. A business tycoon with psychic powers, he can mind control people however it causes bleeding. Though some sources initially claimed he was always up to no good, [[{{Retcon}} in truth]] he had grown cynical and felt [[CapeBusters checks were needed on the supers]]. To do this he used the OMAC Project and Brother Eye. And yes, [[{{Hypocrite}} he is a metahuman]], but believes he has the right.
* His plans ended when Diana [[NeckSnap snapped his neck]] out of desperation because he had full mind control over the Man of Steel. This was broadcasted without context, and proved problematic for her reputation. [[CameBackWrong His corpse was reanimated by a black ring]] and continued to be problematic for her, before [[ComicBook/BrightestDay being one of 12 the Entity chose to revive]]. His goal? Prevent the events of ''ComicBook/KingdomCome''. To his credit, he pulled it off.
* Makes sure to carry a spare tissue around whenever he's in the House of Pantheon/MindControl. The biggest extreme of his powers was making ''the entire world'' forget his existence, but the effort nearly killed him. He practices his gift there. He was aware of a heroic telepath, Professor X, and soon took [[FantasticRacism an anti-mutant]] view. Not to the level of Dr William Stryker who he'll work with but [[EvenEvilHasStandards considers a tool]], but he still doesn't like them. His reasoning is BewareTheSuperman instead of Stryker's [[TheFundamentalist religious views]]. [[BoomerangBigot Technically, he would qualify as a mutant in the Marvel Universe]], but he doesn't like thinking about it.
** [[PetTheDog He has pity for Haruka Kotoura]]. Down to them both being psychic and her finding that AMindIsATerribleThingToRead.
* Agrees with Amon on his belief we need MugglePower, not benders. [[spoiler:And they're both hypocrites]]. He is less sure on the GUAL. On one hand his goals are rather authoritarianism and one of [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH's]] [[EvilVirtues good points]] is egalitarianism, which Maxwell Lord approves of. On the other, he doesn't believe in TheEvilsOfFreeWill; he's not ''that'' extreme. But the Great Will believes he could coax him into accepting that the best way to ensure no supers or any higher power is a threat is to remove their core ability to ''be'' a threat.
* He's come to believe that Goku, like supers in general, are a threat. Part of his argument is him pointing to what Zamasu accomplished using his body. Even beyond this, he considers his IdiotHero status to be too reckless for comfort. However he will concede to working with Goku to stop Frieza, who perfectly demonstrates why one should BewareTheSuperman. The Plutonian even more.
* Maxwell Lord's vision for the world causes him to be in competition with both Lelouch(who has his own form of mind control) and Light Yagami. Kira believes they're not so different; they both want to pre-emeptively stop criminals and threats through powers beyond that of an ordinary human. Lord just uses psychic and technological means to his paranormal means. Max actually agrees they're similar, but just not enough to ally with him.
* The Speedwagon Foundation deals with a number of threats normal humans can't handle, as do the Hellsing Organization. As such, he considers them useful. Speedwagon considers him a threat to world safety. Maxwell Lord also has respect for the SCP Foundation and GOC, but they aren't interested in working with him despite Lord agreeing with a lot of what they do on an ideological level.
* Found in the House of Pantheon/{{Commerce}}, what with him being a rich business tycoon. Though of them he's only fully allied with Jonathan Irons, [[WellIntentionedExtremist because of their "greater good" philosophy]]. He wants to encourage Princess Morbucks to use her powers more constructively, helping her against the Powerpuff Girls in order to keep them in check. However her motives are selfishness and validating her own ego; [[DragonWithAnAgenda she sides with Maxwell Lord for her own benefit]] and is simply too bored/invested in taking her foes down [[TheStarscream to turn]] yet.
* He wasn't the least bit happy to learn of Vought-American and their sponsored "heroes", and wasn't the least bit surprised that things went south with them. He's in a contentious alliance of convenience with the Boys in order to take out supers. [[spoiler:Less convenience with Butcher, who have promised only to take each other out once all other supers have been wiped out first]]. He has a more difficult alliance with Dr Gero. They both oppose Son Goku, and like Gero [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes the death of a loved one motivates Lord]][[note]]mommy issues[[/note]], but he knows Android 20's goals are selfish and likely DespotismJustifiesTheMeans, so they're only working temporarily.
* He's evil, but not ''totally'' evil. He hates fellow business person Ragyo Kiryuin for, above her may depravities, [[TranshumanTreachery selling humanity out for]] [[EldritchAbomination the Original Life Fiber]]. Dr Weil wanted to encourage him to work with him because Reploids are a threat like supers and for more or less the same reason. Lord told him to fuck right off, that he was only using that as a pretext to TakeOverTheWorld and is now doing what he does because DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans.
* Found [[Pantheon/{{Accessories}} Metron's computer]], who used him for world domination. When he realized the true nature of the computer he destroyed it, even if that meant that he would die afterwards because the computer was keeping him alive, but the JLA saved his life. So naturally he wants nothing of SKYNET, and despite heavily disagreeing with his methods and opposing his plan, John Connor will allow him to work alongside to prevent the robot apocalypse. Like if Brother EYE decides to go rogue.
* [[Film/WonderWoman1984 He's decided to take notes]] [[{{Trumplica}} from another business tycoon]]. When asked if he'd run for president, Maxwell Lord has stated "Eh, maybe. But I'd be more learning lessons from [[Pantheon/VillainousArchetypes Luthor's]] failings". Herbert Garrison thought he could find common ground, but this only annoys Lord as he considers him a pervert and petty douchebag.
* There are a couple of timelines detailing an alternate path for Maxwell Lord, both dealing with "what if Blue Beetle didn't die?"
** Booster Gold saved Ted Kord, but it led to his plan being a success. Worse, Alex Luthor Jr and Superboy-Prime were making their presence known. Learning there was another [[TheChessmaster chessmaster]] behind the scenes irritated Lord as it might mean his goals were AllForNothing. He's advised Booster to try again and not have Ted Kord die, while also making sure to take out Alex Luthor Jr and Superboy-Prime right before they can cause trouble.
** [[ComicBook/TalesFromTheDarkMultiverse The Dark Multiverse]] has a tale where Ted Kord shot him dead first, [[HeWhoFightsMonsters but ended up embracing]] his ideals. Just with a different approach. [[CyberneticsEatYourSoul It reached a point]] he became ''more extreme'' than Max. This just makes him more upset mainline Ted Kord refused to join him, since together they could've made things work for everyone. [[WellIntentionedExtremist Well, that is in his perspective]].
* Not an AlternateTimeline for him, but he was interested in it; a timeline where [[ComicBook/ThePunisherKillsTheMarvelUniverse the Punisher kills the metahumans]]. He wants to see the mainline Punisher take this view. Looking at the Marvel Universe he considers Dr Doom as someone who has potential for his plans, however isn't certain on his dictatorship; Maxwell Lord doesn't want world domination, though his actions would have worldwide implications. However he does respect [[TheChessmaster his planning]].

* Avoids: The Hall of [[Pantheon/HandwearAndFootwear Handwear and Footwear]] (specifically the footwear part), the Halls of [[Pantheon/LustfulActs Lustful Acts]] and [[Pantheon/LustfulBehavior Lustful Behavior]]
* Born to a German cobbler, Sasha got to only have a few small memories of his loving mother before she died of illness while he was an infant. Wanting to know more about her but his father too heartbroken to talk about his late wife, Sasha used his freshly developing psychic abilities to peer into the shoemaker's mind and learn of his mother through the man's memories. However, that would quickly prove to be a mistake as Sasha would witness a [[PrimalScene certain memory]] that disturbed the young man enough to run away from home and become [[TheStoic emotionally withdrawn]]. Since then, though, Sasha would join the Psychonauts and not only become one of their scientists but also one of their top agents; going on all sorts of fantastic adventures alongside his Psychonaut partner, Milla Vodello.
* Sasha first came to the Pantheon when he and Milla were invited by Raz, the young Psychonaut eager to show his idols/mentors around the realm and introduce them to his new friends. By the end of their little "tour", Sasha found himself very intrigued by the Pantheon and mused about formally joining the place alongside Raz. In immediate response, Razputin realized that the Pantheon had yet to have a representative for the PsiBlast and urged Sasha to become that trope's God, on account of Agent Nein being Raz's PsiBlast teacher and enabling him the use of the ability in the following [[VideoGame/PsychonautsInTheRhombusOfRuin two]] [[VideoGame/Psychonauts2 adventures]] they shared. As well as being the Psychonaut's Marksmanship specialist. Not one to turn down such an opportunity, Sasha approached the Court of the Gods about becoming the PsiBlast God and, with a swift demonstration of his marksmanship, earned the Court's approval.
* The secret to Sasha's expertise in the PsiBlast is having complete control over his mind and emotions. In the Psychonauts world, the PsiBlast is the manifestation of raw negative emotions, namely the will to attack, and Sasha's sheer mental discipline allows him to controls those negative emotions and focus them exactly where he aims with the necessary force. Even Sasha's own mental world, the Shooting Gallery, takes the form of a perfect cube floating in a void that can spawn structures as needed.
* Upon ascending, Sasha immediately established a third office/lab for himself within the Pantheon, which functions as his temple. There, Sasha performs all sorts of psychic science experiments, most of which done via the Brain Tumbler: a psychic device that allows access to the "Collective Unconscious", the shared portion of all psyches in the world. After a school trip in his home universe resulted in a louse infestation in his main Brain Tumbler, Sasha barrs all but trusted allies entry into his lab. When it comes to upkeep, Sasha's temple is in-between the [[TrashOfTheTitans Camp Whispering Rock Lab]] and his much cleaner Motherlobe office.
* Whenever he's not in his lab, Sasha can always be found around the Pantheon in the company of his herald, Milla, and/or Razputin, his pupil within the Psychonauts. The three often hang around in the [[Pantheon/{{Mentalism}} House of Mentalism]] and the [[Pantheon/PowerAndAbilities House of PowersAndAbilities]], as the two houses are the most psychically-inclined, but Sasha tries to experience all that the Pantheon has to offer.
** Though Sasha absolutely refuses to so much as look at the Halls of Pantheon/HandwearAndFootwear, Pantheon/LustfulActs, and Pantheon/LustfulBehavior. The firstmost because the footwear portion brings to mind Sasha's cobbler father, whom he still has complicated feelings towards, and the latter two reminds Sasha of his accidental DirtyMindReading of said father that he would really like to forget.
* After setting up his temple in the Hall of Spiritual and Mental Powers, Sasha was greeted by J'onn J'onnz and Jean Grey, who were happy to see a new Psychic enter their domain. Sasha was immediately fascinated by the Martian Manhunter, being an alien enthusiast, and is impressed with J'onn's {{Telepathy}}. And Agent Nein relates all too well with Jean Grey, both being psychic agents who double as teachers (even if Sasha's teaching career is that of a counsler for a summer camp) and specialize in the projective skills of PsychicPowers.
* Sasha harbors a low opinion of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, to say the least. While acknowledging the group as heroic people whose actions have had positive effects to their world, their M.O. is ultimately using their world's equivalent of the Collective Unconscious to brainwash other people. And as Agent Nein had put it to Raz after his accidental brainwashing of the Psychonauts' 'Second Head'; ''"You thought you could manipulate another person's mind, bending their will to your own. There are few things worse, Razputin"''. Only thing preventing Sasha from going after the crew as an official Psychonaut Agent is their good standing among many heroes within the Pantheon, Razputin included. But Sasha Nein keeps a wary eye on the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and has warned them that he will confront them should they overstep their boundaries. He also completely forbids them access to his Brain Tumbler.
** Though one credit Sasha can give the Phantom Thieves of Hearts is that at least they commit their mind manipulating thefts for a genuinely good purpose; making truly evil people realize the error of their ways. Whereas the other mental thieves, the Inception Crew, effectively brainwash people for money, which has earned the crew Sasha's disgust. The only member of the group he doesn't outright hate is Adriadne, being a student who got recruited into the crew and tries to be ethical with her given role. Sasha was also impressed by Adriadne helping Cobb defeat his personal demon, Mal, and thinks she could make a good non-psychic Psychonaut had those criminals not already roped her in their affairs.
** Overall, Sasha does not take kindly to any manipulators of minds and, with few exceptions, views all of them as enemies to be arrested under Psychonaut custody. This automatically placed the villains of the Hall of Pantheon/MindControl in Sasha's shitlist, whom he has threatened to take action against should they start toying with other people's wills. And for the mentally manipulated members of the Hall, Sasha expresses his sincerest sympathies for their plight ([[TheStoic in his usual dry tone]]) and has offered them the aid of the Psychonauts in overcoming their mental tamperings.
* Upon hearing that fellow Psychonaut associate and Whispering Rock Camp Counselor, Coach Morceau Oleander, was within the Pantheon, Sasha was quick to pay [[AffectionateNickname Morry]] a visit to his temple. Agent Nein was not surprised at all to see that Oleander is based within the House of Pantheon/CrimeAndTransgressions, under the Hall of Pantheon/{{Thieves}}, with the title of 'Brain Thief'. Much as Sasha has forgiven Morceau for his brain thievery and attempted takeover of the world, he's not living down that moment anytime soon and felt the title and house was appropriate, as much as Oleander himself laments it.
** On the note of BrainTheft, Sasha has nothing but contempt for those who steal brains, having had to reclaim more than a few stolen brains throughout his time as a Psychonaut Agent (and fell victim to BrainTheft himself). Coach Oleander being the sole exception since his brain thievery was the result of a psychotic breakdown, for which he's genuinely remorseful. As well as being a friend and colleague for many years.
* As a scientist of German ancestry, Sasha naturally gets along well with other good-aligned German scientists within the Pantheon. The first of them Sasha befriended being Dr. Abraham Erskine, whose Super Soldier Serum intrigues the Psychonaut. Agent Nein has since collaborated with Erskine to see if they can produce a variation of the serum for psychics.
* Sasha first became acquainted with XCOM when he and Milla first checked out the House of Gaming, and a few XCOM soldiers confronted the man; having mistaken Nein for a [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/xcom/images/6/6d/XCOM(EU)_ThinMen.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130324213236 Thin Man]] due to his tall and thin build, sunglasses, similar hairstyle, and his green skin. Luckily, before any of them could fire a plasma shot, Sasha was able to psi-blast their guns out of their hands, and in doing so wordlessly showed them that he was not a Thin Man, as those aliens are incapable of PsychicPowers. Impressed by Sasha's speed and accuracy with his psychic power, the superiors of XCOM asked if Agent Nein would be willing to help train their own Psionic Operatives (after issuing an apology on behalf of their soldiers), to which the Psychonaut agreed. Since that first training session, Sasha found himself becoming good friends of XCOM as a whole, viewing them as not so different from the Psychonauts as both are international organizations that employ psychics and protect humanity. Though Sasha is saddened that the Earth of XCOM had a very hostile first contact with aliens, and hopes that the extraterrestrials of his world prove much more peaceful (if they exist to begin with).
** Among XCOM's individual staff, Sasha gets along most with Dr. Vahlen and Dr. Tygan as fellow scientists. Whenever he's visiting XCOM's base, Sasha will always stop by both doctor's labs and learn about the latest alien technology or biology they've researched, as well as the nature and functions of their world's PsychicPowers. In turn, Vahlen and Tygan are fascinated by Sasha being a naturally born psychic with acces to, and actively studies, the human mind. Neither XCOM scientist miss the chance to learn from Sasha about the psychics of Psychonauts and the nature of the mental world, and ponder how those can be applied to XCOM's benefit.
* As the aforementioned hostile aliens who have committed countless atrocities in XCOM's world, both to Earth and many other alien species, ADVENT was placed into Sasha's shitlist as soon as he was told about them. Agent Nein is particularly disgusted by ADVENT's practice of necromancy through psionics, which is a pseudoscience in Sasha's world that he abhors. In the possible event that ADVENT attempts a takeover of the Pantheon, Sasha had formed a pact between the Psychonauts and XCOM to fight the coalition.
* Sasha was quick to befriend the New Alliance of Free Stars, being a union between multiple alien civilizations and humanity, and likes to learn about each alien member's cultures. Though Sasha quickly became unnerved with the Arilou after learning of their "contributions" to the development of their world's humans (from direct interventions to untold numbers of isolated examinations/abductions) and since then keeps a wide berth from that species, and has installed measures in his world to prevent any alien meddling on his Earth. Much to the confusion and bafflement of his fellow Psychonauts.
* Nein was perplexed to say the least when he first met an intelligent, talking pony named 'Maud Pie', who sought out the Psychonaut on hearing of a "psychic German man" who was as emotionally subdued and quiet as she. After conversing with the strange equine a bit, Sasha found himself becoming friends with Maud as both of them express little to no emotion, speak in dry tones, and most significantly both are [[TheComicallySerious frequently subjected to silly situations wherein their serious demeanors and deadpan manners of speaking provoke laughter]]. Sasha and Maude occasionally get together in their free time to discuss their work and interests, while Milla and Pinkie Pie party together. To onlookers, Sasha and Maude's meetings look like the most boring conversations around, but for them it's highly engaging.
* Sasha was pleased to find another German, and a [[GermanicEfficiency hardworking one]] at that, in the form of G36. The Psychonaut could not resist being fascinated with how human-like an android G36 is, to the point of having far-sightedness. As impractical such a condition is on an android that wields a gun, Sasha is impressed with the detail all the same and does not mind how G36's hyperopia makes her constantly squint in a way that resembles a DeathGlare.
* On learning about the Sumeragi Group's [[PlayingWithSyringes terrible experimentations]] on their world's equivalent of psychics, [[PsychicChildren most of whom are children and teenagers]], Sasha Nein gained an instant hatred for the organization and their "Swordsmen", with special focus on Nova due to being the leader of the Sumeragi Swordsmen and being committed to those cruel experiements despite being an Adept himself. Even while acknowledging Nova's genuine desire for peace between Adepts and humans, Sasha knows there are better ways of going about that than cold-blooded torture. Nova called Sasha a hypocrite on that front, as the Psychonaut had done experiements on the campers of Whispering Rock that left them traumatized, but Nein (with Milla and Raz backing him up) pointed out in retaliation that his own experiements were done with the consent of the kids and he halts those tests as soon as they become dangerous.
* Of all the alien species within the Pantheon, Sasha finds [[WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse the Gems]] to be among the most fascinating: being living and sapient gemstones with some of the most unique technology and culture. And among the Gems, Sasha gets along most with Garnet due to her stoicism, CoolShades, and her [[{{Seers}} Future Vision]], which makes Sasha believe Garnet to be a fellow psychic. Agent Nein was especially intrigued on learning that Garnet is actually the physical and mental fusion of two lovers, and ponders what her mental world would look like, assuming Psycho-Portals work on Gemkind. On Garnet's end, she thinks Sasha and Milla make a great couple and subtly tries to push the two together.
* As one of Whispering Rock Summer Camp's counselors, and a mentor for Psychonaut interns, Sasha is naturally protective of kids and looks to help PsychicChildren reach their full potential. As a result, Sasha maintains good relations with Ness, Paula, Poo, and Lucas and trains them in the PsiBlast whenever he has the time. Of the four, Sasha looks out most for Lucas as he relates all too well with losing one's mother and being neglected by one's father, and hopes to help Lucas overcome all the other trauma he endured with his and Milla's training.
* ''"Sometimes isolation is a good thing. It can lead to important discoveries."''

* Opposed by: [[Pantheon/SpeechAtoM King Togwaggle]]
* Shang Tsung is a sorcerer and the first BigBad of the Mortal Kombat Tournament. Originally from Earthrealm, Shang Tsung was taken to Outworld after Shao Kahn saw potential in him and taught him Soul Magic, making the sorcerer one of Outworld's strongest champions until his defeat at the hands of the Great Kung Lao. Several years later he returned once more, now with the help of the Shokan Prince Goro, Shang Tsung managed to defeat Kung Lao and dominating the first nine Mortal Kombat tournaments until that streak was broken by Liu Kang. Since then Shang Tsung has been involved in several plots regarding Earthrealm's invasion to the murder of Shao Kahn and Liu Kang, but he has long set his eyes on the pantheon.
* As an avid practitioner of Soul Magic and shapeshifting powers, he quickly took the spot of [[YourSoulIsMine Soul Stealing]], being one of the most notable candidates for the title given that it's the reason [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld he lived for so long]]. Now as a deity, Shang Tsung has set eyes on some particular powerful deities that would make powerful additions to his arsenal of powers and his island.
** His machinations and chessmaster nature also allowed him to get the position of {{Shapeshifting}}, considering that he can take the form of any person he can take the soul of which has made several people paranoid of Shang Tsung whenever he is near.
* In his home world, he betrayed Earthrealm to join underneath Shao Kahn's konquest of the realms. As such, he's disliked more in Earthrealm than he is in Outworld, especially by the likes of the White Lotus monks Kung Lao and especially Liu Kang, Champion of Mortal Kombat and the one to defeat him when he was close to the 10th win required to invade Earthrealm. The other Earthrrealm warriors also have a bone to pick with the sorcerer which Shang Tsung reciprocates, except towards Sonya Blade who he is [[VillainousCrush somewhat attracted to]] (Of course, Sonya DOES NOT return his feelings and Shang Tsung likes that)
** He's an opportunist of the highest degree in his home universe. Despite sharing some animosity towards Quan Chi and his master Shinnok, they teamed up and formed the Deadly Alliance, killing off Liu Kang and dealing a nasty blow to the Konquerer. [[ButtMonkey It got worse for the sorcerer in the new timeline]], as his soul is taken out to activate Sindel early, whereas Quan Chi and Shinnok were able to make their move onto Earthrealm earlier than they did it in the older timeline.
** When he escaped from Ermac, he stayed over on his island during the events of Mortal Kombat 11. That being said, hearing about Kronika and her powers over time, he's intrigued in her powers. As such, while he's comfortable enough being an ally of her's, he'll try to backstab her and take the power of the Hourglass for himself.
* He would prefer to stay away from Shao Kahn if he can help it. Not only was their master plan foiled by him and Goro's defeat at the hands of Liu Kang, but in one timeline, he betrayed his master while in another, his own soul was used as a battery for Sindel. Thankfully that was mostly undone by Kronika's arrival but Shang Tsung still isn't in the best of terms with his mentor, mostly because he is tired of the failures of the sorcerer. Because of these embarrassments, he's secluded himself on his island, biding his time for the perfect moment to strike. Only then, will the Pantheon be on their knees, begging for mercy while looking up to their new overlord: Shang Tsung.
** This animosity also extends to all of Shao Kahn's underlings but they have to put aside this differences in order to work for Kronika. However, he is still is fond of Mileena, citing her as one of his greatest creations, and still very close allies with Goro, since he was his champion for several hundred years and even mourned his death after the former's demise.
** Outside of Kronika's group, he is the one responsible of Erron Black's lifespan, considering he does come from the Wild West period. The gunslinger has severed ties with the sorcerer after he became one of Kotal Kahn's enforcers and Tsung is not happy at all with that.
* [[VideoGame/MortalKombat9 Upon hearing about Shang Tsung's fatality]] [[VideoGame/MortalKombatVsDCUniverse being based off his own fatality]], the Joker went over to the Island and became one of his few allies. As he puts it: "Any guy who gets my jokes is an alright guy in my book!"
* He gets along quite well with Starscream, as they both scheme to take out their overlords while guising as their second-in-command. It's rumored that they plan to form an alligence where they'll take out key Pantheon players and use their powers to usurp the Grand Alliances and rule for themselves.
* He and Akuma [[WebAnimation/DeathBattle came to blows]] after the former took interest in the dark essence of the Satsui no Hadou but Akuma proved to be the better fighter and his "Shun Goku Satsu" ended up dealing the decisive blow. While he lost and the two aren't exactly on the best terms, Shang Tsung did end up getting a piece of Akuma's soul and he can replicate his powers, which lead him to investigate more by approaching Kagenaru Mono, the living embodiment of Ryu's Satsui no Hadou. Shang Tsung decided to propose Kage an offer of finding him a similar host like Ryu where he could once and for all prove to Ryu who is the superior fighter. The offer of cloning Ryu really enticed Kage and he accepted, which only earned the ire of both Ryu and Akuma.
* Anyone can access his temple, which is a recreation of his island. Adventurers can explore and take any treasure they want, [[ImpliedDeathThreat whithin reason]]. And he is surprisingly helpful to potential adventurers, even if that ends up just giving them a false sense of security and he would easily get rid of them in the blink of an eye.
** Considering that Shang Tsung's island is basically a huge dungeon, Ceri saw an opportunity to explore another world and visited the sorcerer's temple. She is aware of Shang Tsung's infamous reputation as a trickster and backstabber and so proceeded carefully and not even a few minutes in she ended up tricked into falling into the Pits where she was narrowly saved by Yomi who happened to be nearby. Ever since the incident coupled with Shang Tsung shady's nature makes the two oppose the sorcerer but Ceri still returns to the island from time to time.
** The new influx of adventurers made him earn the unlikely opposition of King Togwaggle, mostly because the Kobold King doesn't like that the sorcerer is getting the attention of the adventurers. He is also a bit jealous that Shang Tsung's island may have more treasure that his own domain so he organized his allies to try and steal his gold.
* Some people noticed a [[Creator/CaryHiroyukiTagawa passing resemblance]] to Heihachi Mishima and the Sorcerer took notice of the Mishima's shaky family history. The two agreed to an alliance given their status as fighting game {{Final Boss}}es and Shang Tsung also became curious of the devil gene that unfortunately was not present in Heihachi's blood. To that end, he wants to steal the soul of one of Heihachi's descendants and upon hearing that, Kazumi decided to ambush the sorceror to avoid him getting ahold of it. Big mistake since it only gave him access to Kazumi's own devil gene but thankfully her old comrade Akuma came to the rescue and drove both Shang Tsung and Heihachi away.
* Considering stealing the soul of other powerful sorcerers, setting his sight on the main guardians of the House of Pantheon/MagicAndSorcery, particularly taking interest in Stephen Strange. This interest also extended to the mutant Illyana Rasputin, whose dark powers could make her an excellent acolyte of his.
* His soul magic is an interesting art for those interested in immortality, considering Shang Tsung has lived for centuries. Considering how he can age and de-age at will, Mother Gothel took interest on how his magic worked and pleaded to Shang Tsung to be taught how to use it. He agreed to do so, provided she would tell her the secrets of the flower that kept her young for years.
** Speaking of Soul Magic and Shapeshifting, he developed somewhat of a one-sided rivalry with Envy the Jealous. The Homunculus is also a shapeshifter and is tired that the sorcerer always hogs all the souls that could be used for the Philosopher's Stone for himself. Shang Tsung instead of being overtly hostile he decided to play along and get closer to the Homunculi in order to gain access to said stone but Envy still doesn't like him one bit.
* One thing of note is that Shang Tsung has managed to keep the powers of every single ninja of his series, being able to use attacks from them at will. Some believe it has to do with him draining Ermac's souls and getting enough power to keep certain soul properties from past victims, which could also explain how he can summon a clone of Kintaro at will.
* '''''[[YourSoulIsMine "Your soul is mine!"]]'''''
* Is also one of the Trinity Shifters in the House of Pantheon/{{Shape}}.

* Tyrande is Malfurion's ever-faithful wife and took care of the Night Elf Sentinels at Azeroth in his absence, be it the Emerald Dream, or getting ascended to the Pantheon. That is, until a certain star fell right onto her head and the next thing she realized, she already ascended to the Pantheon. Turns out, the lost Moon powers of Amaterasu recognized Tyrande as its new mistress due to her massive dedication to the Moon and caused her to ascend. She's not very sure if she's allowed to lead in the stead of Elune, but she promised to do her best.
* Everything that is about the moon, Tyrande can handle it well. Keep you safe under its light veil? Yes she can. Send out creatures of the night to illuminate your path? That's what her owls do. Make the moon summon stars that fall on you? If you need some punishment, she'll do that all right...
* The first thing she does is to relocate her husband Malfurion and then a most joyful reunion commenced. Though she does her best to avoid the subject of his brother Illidan. [[LoveTriangle It's complicated.]]
* While she's aligned with the Alliance and has respects on Varian Wrynn, it's best that you avoid mentioning [[BerserkButton 'A Little Patience' within her earshot]], if you don't want Tyrande to rain down moon blasts or arrows at you. She noticed that with her husband's absence, she became a bit too hotheaded and not using her brain, [[OldShame something that she really really regrets.]] This is why when she enters [[VideoGame/HeroesOfTheStorm the Nexus Battlefield]] with her husband, she makes sure she keeps her wits and calm with her and never going too tempestuous. She did that during Mt. Hyjal, she can do that again.
** That being said, her wary of the Horde stays, because regardless of how you look at it, they still violate the forests. This is why she kept her eyes at Thrall, and still continued the antagonism between her and some Horde orcs like the Hellscreams. While she would also consider the good of [[VideoGame/{{Starcraft}} some people in the Korprulu Sector such as Jim Raynor]], Tyrande is also rather wary about how they might not have respects on nature, though her allies dismissed it as just having a culture shock.
* Apparently before her ascension, someone brought a TV to her quarters and after watching a certain 'Franchise/SailorMoon', Tyrande quickly became a fan and tends to [[InTheNameOfTheMoon emulate her]] during lighthearted times.
* She used to have a fellow Priestess named [[VideoGame/{{Dota 2}} Mirana]] who would end up becoming her own Princess after years of service with Elune. Tyrande still kept contact with her, and for the moment, did her best to keep her rival Luna in line as her follower.
* She also didn't take fellow moon worshipper Diana, considering her too 'savage' in her crusades. Tyrande herself chose not to get involved with the whole 'Sun vs Moon' rivalry, though she did give her a warning: Regardless of how severe one's persecution is, one must always have a line they shouldn't cross, or they'll be no better than what they fought against, as it happened to a certain Warden she was familiar with.
* Tyrande was once considered for the chosen Priest Hero by [[Videogame/HearthstoneHeroesOfWarcraft the Inkeeper]], but at the time she wasn't able to attend and was replaced by Anduin Wrynn. However, she later joined the crew as the second Priestess and reunited with her husband who also frequented the Tavern. Other cringe on how sometimes both Malfurion and Tyrande behave like SickeninglySweethearts, even when they are battling each other.
* Many people had poked fun of her "stylish" choice for hair. When she asked why her hair was so funny, she was told she had leaves all over it which promped a hilarious reaction from her:
--> "What the…? How long have these leaves been in my hair? Why does no one tell me these things?"
* She developed a good friendship with fellow archer and Goddess of the Hunt Artemis for her care and protection for the wild. Their bond got stronger when she learned that she also had connections with the moon.
** She also gets along really well with Sapphire Rhodonite, another woman who chose her husband for his nice personality. She also occassionally delves into archery too and has taken classes from tyrande a few times. Once in particularly, she used Sapphire as a test dummy.
--> "Here, hold this apple for a moment...All right, now put it on your head. Perfect... It’s been quite a while since I used this bow."
* When it comes to tastes about men, Tyrande made it clear that [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan the kindness of heart and virtuous values are big plus points]], moreso than raw strength, this is why she chose Malfurion over Illidan. This is also why she's quite fond on [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure Jonathan Joestar]] for exemplifying such qualities in men and says that anyone who becomes his wife is absolutely blessed and lucky to find such man. And that's another reason she stands opposed to Dio Brando, not just on his poor treatment to women, but also on how she abhors how he thinks that he can get away with doing everything as long as he has power. Something 'similar Illidan, but without any of the sympathetic things that made him a tortured soul.'
* Even though she is one of the most faithful women in the entire pantheon, she has stated that she misses having a millennia or two of girl time, which raised a few eyebrows in the House of Pantheon/LoveAndAffection.
* As you would have imagined, she holds the moon in High reward since that is the source of her powers and is also Elune's creation. As such any evil people that has tried to use them in evil ways has earned her ire, such as Majora, Mr. Burns and Shadow Moon ([[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking just for using the moon as a namesake]])
** She also isn't very fond of Master Roshi and Piccolo because they destroyed they homeworld's moon on separate occasions, which she considers an insult to Elune. Altough she later was told that they had to destroy it or else a Giant Monkey would've gone on a rampage, which later relieved her. She still hasn't forgived them entirely.
** She also learned that the hero known as Saitama [[http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/055/389/054.gif left a terrible mess on his moon]], which almost left her really angry. Thankfully, she has slowly started to forgive him after hearing why he was there in the first place.
** She has also earned the respect of Fenrich, especially because the moon is a really important thing for him and he is glad there is someone capable of taking care of it.
* Also has a spot in the House of [[Pantheon/PlanetaryBodiesAndSatellites Space and Cosmos]].

* In the world of Pokemon, there are many species believed to be not of this world. Some like the Cleffa line are mere speculation, but a few are confirmed extra-terrestrials. One such is Elgyem, and its evolution of Beheeyem. The Cerebral Pokemon heavily resembles TheGreys [[BadassLongcoat with a spiffy longcoat]], intrigued with the Earth of Pokemon. Their greatest skill is their [[TelepathicSpacemen incredible psychic abilities]], as demonstrated by [[MyBrainIsBig their massive brain]]. A Beheeyem was chosen to represent his race, as the God of TelepathicSpacemen.
** Beheeyem almost immediately requested to be the Martian Manhunter's partner; it only made sense for the two psychic aliens to be close to one another.
** Coming from outer space, it is unclear whether they're descended from [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Mew]] or not. If they are, it'd open a number of questions about [[SufficientlyAdvancedAliens where Mew came from]].
* Though an alien, Beheeyem retains a very human trait; a desire to understand strange new cultures. His kind took up shop in the Celestial Tower gravesite, curious about human customs involving life and death. Unfortunately a number of [[OurGhostsAreDifferent Litwick]] ended up in the area, whom they regard as "parasites". Beheeyem will usually visit the Houses of Philosophy and Personality as part of his research.
** Good friends with fellow aliens Astral and E.T. With the former, it comes out of their shared interest in human culture and society. With the latter, it's due to being very friendly. There's a lot of aggressive aliens in his house, so it's good to know nice aliens are there to help. Beheeyem's also formed an alliance of convenience with alien Pokemon Deoxys for much of the same reason.
** Tate and Liza were excited to discover an alien Pokemon and quickly showed him to the Mossdeep Space Center. This Beheeyem has warned them he's not to be trained, but rather would be happy to help out with astrophysics. His spaceship broke down, so with their help he might be able to visit his home and Earth more freely.
* It's said in the mid-20th century [[RoswellThatEndsWell there was an alien incident in Roswell]]...around the same time Elgyem and Beheeyem were first discovered in the desert. Though Beheeyem claims he's behind it, Roger Smith says otherwise stating that ''he's'' the Roswell alien. Further research revealed both of them were, and Beheeyem states that Roger's species is a "cousin" of his. They were apparently "Roswell buddies" during their time locked up.
** Bender has also staked claim to being the titular Roswell spaceship, but after a few drinks all three ended up being VitriolicBestBuds. They formed their own group, "The Roswell Crew", for those behind famous New Mexico alien incursions.
** Many Elgyem and Beheeyem still live in desert regions, with the Beheeyem in the pantheon reminiscing fondly of his time there. He feels rather comfortable in the House of Earth and Metal, however is constantly frustrated by the likes of Crixalis and Dune. Exploration in the deserts eventually led him to discover Anakaris, whom reminded him of Cofagrigus. Beheeyem sees him as a guide and a fascinating subject.
* Beheeyem has a number of psychic abilities, but more unique to his kind is the ability to modify memories and the brain. For example, his Simple Beam can change one's ability to Simple. With his ability to alter the minds of others, the Men in Black have sought out Beheeyem to keep the peace. Beheeyem has accepted this task, and is also working with
** Not one to argue with the likes of Iroque for her [[HeelFaceBrainwashing "behavior modification"]], whom he hopes to use in order to neutralize Ghetsis and Cyrus' evil ways while [[CutLexLuthorACheck sparing their intellect]]. In general Beheeyem is fascinated with the lantern rings due to the effect they have on the user's psyche.
** Beheeyem was glad to find a fellow researcher Pokemon in the form of Shamouti Island's Slowking.
* Beheeyem's psychic typing makes him vulnerable to ghosts and bugs, which leads him to avoid the Ghost or Insect houses. It has also led him to be concerned over aggressive darkness users or those who find his massive psychic power an attractive MindRape target.
** Despite lacking wings and not being a Flying type, Beheeyem can learn ''Steel Wing'' of all moves. Most attribute this to having a UFO, or it being TM [[StealthPun 51]].
** Beheeyem considers the trickster Rotom incredibly frustrating due to [[HauntedTechnology possessing technology]] and wrecking havoc on his equipment.
* Though concerned over bugs, Beheeyem has nothing bad to say about Volcarona. She's trying to keep order over Unova, and is helping to fight the evil Ghetsis off.
** Avoids visiting the Imperium of Mankind. The fact he's both an alien ''and'' psychic causes them to go berserk at him.

* Enemies: [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]], [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Melkor]], [[Pantheon/UndeadAndPhasmata Nekron]], [[Pantheon/NarrativeTone The Dark]] [[Pantheon/VillainousRoles Matter Horde]]
* Grumpy has always been dour during his time in the Pantheon, but he had a particularly rough week. Grouchy Smurf set off to investigate, making a startling discovery. For all of Grumpy's sourness over Care-A-Lot, he truly does wish that his friends could make it into the Pantheon. So he got help with other deities to work out a deal. Soon enough, Grumpy caught wind and demanded to know what Grouchy was up to. To his surprise, he found out that his friends have arrived at the Pantheon. That warranted a move to a new temple. While their presence annoys him, he is secretly glad to be with friends again.
* The CareBearStare is one of the most powerful {{World Healing Wave}}s in the Pantheon. It is able to not only defeat nearly all kinds of evil foes, but also heal people of any physical and emotional damage done by them. Having that sort of power in the GUAG's position has forced Melkor to set the bears as primary targets for his forces. Some people prefer to use the term 'Taste the Motherfucking Rainbow", but don't expect any of the bears to use it.
* Their meeting with the Emotions was a huge fanfare. The bears were the first to point out that no emotions are inherently bad, even the negative ones. Grumpy and Anger have always been friends, but nowadays they have all the other bears to contend with. Joy quickly fell in love with all the other bears. The others have a more neutral stance on the bears.
** The bears are also in good terms with The Emotional Spectrum, though many have preferences. Grumpy hangs out with the more negative emotions, but the other bears fell in love with ThePollyanna from the start. Cheer and Funshine Bear especially love to hang out with the young girl.
* It has been revealed that the vast majority of their villains have been employed not by Melkor, but YHVH. The Absolute Lawmaker has been experimenting with various ways to remove irrational emotions from his subjects. He has already succeeded in the Land Without Feelings and hopes to expand to other worlds. The Care Bears remain committed to prevent this from happening.
** It's not like they haven't taken on evil forces. Melkor isn't too fond of them as well. At first glance, he thought he could rid of them with a few minions. All it took was one CareBearStare to convert them into the bears' allies. The GodOfEvil is looking for an evil equivalent to counter the bears.
* When the bears heard that their friend Alice was also in the Pantheon, they didn't hesitant to visit her. They were surprised to see that this version of Alice had [[VideoGame/AmericanMcGeesAlice black hair]]. Grumpy stopped from from unleashing the CareBearStare, explaining that this Alice has many forms, some completely different from others. Regardless, this Alice remembered her adventures with them and was quick to make friends with them.
* Grumpy gets some unwanted attention at times. That's due to the fact that one of his voices sounds like [[Creator/ScottMcNeil one of the most prolific voice actors of all time]].
* ''Do not'' remind the Nostalgia Critic that he watched WesternAnimation/TheCareBearsMovie. He refuses to give the franchise credit no matter how popular the series is. The bears do give the critic credit for popularizing the phrase: "TASTE THE RAINBOW MOTHERFUCKERS!" To his horror, the phrase only encouraged even more people to watch the movie.
* There was a time when the Care Bears and ponies would see each other as rivals. It seemed that it would be even more the case when the [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic new show]] made the series far more popular than the game. And yet, the two have made amends with each other as both series have become more loved. Grumpy has grown more appreciative of the Mane Six for helping him bring his friends over.

* OddFriendship: [[Pantheon/SoldierArchetypesAToM The Doom Slayer]]
* Enemies: [[Pantheon/TaintedLaw Scott Shelby]], any who wish to exploit her, those who mess with the afterlife
* While investigating various worlds, the Court found a modern-ish Earth place [[spoiler:infested with spirits]] and located [[ABoyAndHisX a certain woman and her spirit companion]]. After concluding that it was probably safe to provide assistance, they did so, and once the matter was settled, Jodie was invited to the Pantheon. Naturally, being tied to her via a PsychicLink, this invitation was also extended to Aiden.
* Thankfully for Jodie, there are a lot more people in the Pantheon who are understanding and/or more tolerant of her powers (to Aiden however, that depends on them and him). Having been faced with prejudice, abuse, and exploitation at every turn in her world with the only exceptions counted on '' just one hand'', this is a relief for her.
** That said, due to the story of her life, Aiden tends to be slow to trust anybody who isn't Jodie, and can get pretty violent. However, as long as Jodie is not being antagonized, he'll behave. Most of the time.
* It's not known what happened at the end of her story, [[spoiler:like who she ended up with, if anyone at all, before the epilogue]], and she is not willing to answer.
* With all the other supernatural entities in the Pantheon, there would inevitably be those who can actually see and interact with Aiden (who is seen as a floating torso with glowing eyes, and no defining features), much to his and Jodie's surprise. Unfortunately, this also means he has to watch out for himself now, not just Jodie, especially if threats can harm him directly. It's something they're still getting used to.
** It's known that incapacitating Jodie will reduce Aiden's capacity to act, but it's not known what would happen if the vice-versa situation occurs. Probably Jodie's (limited) powers being reduced.
** In some aspects, Aiden has been compared to [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure a Stand]], minus the tangibility, having a separate will of his own, and still being invulnerable by means other than breaking his link to Jodie. Then again, there have been many Stands that don't follow this pattern.
* Jodie's powers (via Aiden) consist of moving objects, albeit only via one-time pointed bursts of force, as well as possessing people. Aiden himself can also cure wounds and even alcoholic poisoning, create barriers strong enough to repel bullets and ''freaking SWAT trucks'', and has other forms of telekinesis fine enough to write on glass or sand.
%% * Jodie has experience with playing the guitar and sometimes plays a tune on occasion.
* [[Pantheon/{{Anger}} Carrie White]] empathizes with them given how much crap Jodie's experienced. What's baffling however is when some idiots continued offending Jodie ''despite being fully aware of Aiden's existence, his powers, and his general attitude''. Jodie however had difficulty returning the sentiment, given Carrie had gone on a full rampage and killer. Regarding the bullies at the birthday party, she most likely would've gotten vengeance, but she wouldn't have wanted them dead, even if Aiden might've.
* Has disdain for organizations like the CIA due to the measures they resorted to in her world for the sake of their interests. Chuck resents that idea, but understands the feeling, given he's been forced to work for them, and how many times he's had to get himself in danger to take down various terrorists due to his INTERSECT. Besides, [[spoiler:he's freelance now. Well, technically,]] he's in the GUAG and so is she, and they're more understanding overall.
** Speaking of them, any who desire to ''control the afterlife'', or any dimension filled with uncountable entities that can barely be contained let alone combated, will draw a lot of enmity from them, [[spoiler:given that's what the CIA in their world tried to do, [[ForScience all for the sake of science]]]]. This resulted in an OddFriendship with the Doom Slayer, who's had similar issues with the UAC. That said, there is discomfort, mostly from '''''Aiden''''', due to his lack of respect for authority or personal space, not to mention his experience with the supernatural and his track record with demons.
** Merging two different worlds is also another reprehensible act in their eyes, especially if those two worlds are but one plane of existence away from each other.
** Speaking of afterlife, there's also any ''deliberate'' means to keep someone from going there by way of forced coma. That's what [[spoiler:their world's CIA did with their birth]] mother, and planned on doing the same to Jodie.
* Many are baffled by the actions of Jodie's bullies when they locked her in a closet under a staircase ''for gifting an Creator/EdgarAllanPoe book''. If nothing else, it was probably at least worth a lot of money due to its rarity. And an offhand or insincere "thank you" would've sufficed.
* Having been handed over to the government by her [[spoiler:adoptive]] parents at the age of ''8'', she has issues with those who ditch their children and those who "acquire" children for their own purposes this way.
%% ** And then there's Jack, the biotic. She had it much worse than Jodie: being taken from her mother by Cerberus, who then tricked her into thinking she died. And then was experimented on and tested very roughly for who knows how many years before she finally broke out.
* Having possessed a doll of him in her childhood, Jodie got a pleasant surprise when she saw Totoro in the flesh one rainy night (Aiden alerted her to his presence, given he's usually InvisibleToAdults) by a bus stop. Wanting some comfort before returning to her temple, she shuffled to his side and snuggled against his fur, which Totoro was okay with, and so was Aiden. They stayed together even as their transport arrived, until they eventually had to part ways at their respective Houses.
* Having seen a newspaper of the Origami Killer during her travels, and now knowing who he is thanks to his identity [[LateArrivalSpoiler being common knowledge]] in the Pantheon, she's come to despise Scott Shelby for his crimes.
* If she's ever given a mission that involves taking down a target, it's best that [[spoiler:she is not lied to to about the target's intentions and goals if they prove contrary to the truth]]. She doesn't like to have a repeat incident of her mission in the Republic of Kazirstan. [[spoiler:Especially if it turns out to be a peacekeeper being "portrayed" as a warlord]].
* Due to having gone through similar hardships, not to mention [[Creator/ElliotPage something unexplainable between them]], Jodie has formed a friendship with Ellie. Although she's is wary of Joel, she appreciates that he genuinely cares about Ellie. As for that rescue that probably cost humanity a chance to cure the Cordyceps virus in their world, given her own experiences with being experimented on, she doesn't know what to say in response to that.

* Fan of: [[Pantheon/MonsterTypes The Monsters]] (mostly Norman)
* Norman Babcock is an eleven-year-old boy with the ability to see and talk to the dead. He lives in the town of Blithe Hollow in Massachusetts, which cashes in on its historical witch trials. Blithe Hollow's inhabitants frowned upon Norman's behavior, thinking him insane or a liar, and he was bullied at school. One day, as the town was celebrating the 300th anniversary of a famous witch's hanging, Norman was approached by his estranged uncle, Mr. Prenderghast, who warned him he would have to complete a ritual to save the town. Norman had to read a certain book on top of the witch's grave to stave off her curse. As simple as that sounded, several things went haywire, such as Norman finding the wrong grave and a ZombieApocalypse starting. Eventually in the middle of the chaos, Norman discovered the witch's true identity: Agatha Prenderghast, a young girl much like Norman, with the same powers and the same lack of understanding from her neighbors, who became so afraid of her, they killed her. In retaliation, Agatha became a VengefulGhost, cursing the seven judges who hanged her to become undead, and terrorizing Blithe Hollow. Norman reached out to Agatha and told her he understood how she felt, convincing her to stop the curse and move on. Thanks to saving the town, Norman was finally accepted by the populace.
* Agatha made it into the Pantheon first at the invitation of the Main House, due to successfully moving on from her world in peace. Agatha wasn't certain of deserving such an honor after her actions as a "witch" and thought Norman, as the hero who saved the town, was much more fitting. She was told to go get Norman if she wanted, though she shouldn't think so lowly of herself. Back in their world, Norman had decided to visit Agatha's resting place, as she had been a lot on his mind that day. It was then that Agatha appeared to him, making Norman conflicted as he was happy to see her but also concerned as to whether she had failed to move on. Agatha explained about the Pantheon, how she had been picked as a goddess and wanting Norman to take the position instead. Norman simply asked if they couldn't share, which Agatha admittedly had not thought of. So they went together to ask the gods about it, and they replied that it happens all the time. Thus, Norman accepted godhood, seizing the chance to be in contact with the only person he knows who shares his ability.
* As you may have realized from Norman's uncle being called Prenderghast, he and Aggie are relatives, though very distant. The ghost-seeing gene is passed down through the Prenderghast family, which Norman's mother is a part of, though she doesn't have the gift. Norman and Aggie didn't really have time to dwell on that fact back in their world, and they've had the chance to discuss it at length in the Pantheon. Their relationship has become much like that of siblings (that get along, not like what Norman had with his actual sister Courtney) as the Pantheon allows them to spend large amounts of time with each other.
* Once the ascension was definitive, the two kids were warmly welcomed by Coraline Jones, who likely felt responsible for the two new arrivals upon hearing she is [[Creator/{{Laika}} technically related to them]]. As Coraline introduced herself to them and suggested they see her as a big sister who'll guide them through the scary world of the Pantheon, Norman was quick to point out they were the same age. [[SnarkToSnarkCombat That set the tone for their relationship.]] She did earnestly warn both of them away from the Beldam lest she ensnares them in her web with her sweet words. However one night, Agatha went by herself to confront the Beldam and used her powers to electrocute her into a crisp as revenge for the three ghosts that were trapped by her for so long, which prompted an astounded Coraline to comment that with powers like Agatha's, they'd have no trouble fitting in the Pantheon.
* Norman and Agatha also became aware of Emily, Victor and Victoria for much the same reasons. Although their connection is somewhat looser than with Coraline, upon meeting they found they do have a bit in common with each other; Agatha became close to Emily, as young women who met untimely deaths and had trouble moving on, and Victor, like Norman to Agatha, played an important role in helping Emily move on. All-in-all, Victor and Victoria could be seen as sort of surrogate parents to Norman and Agatha (though Norman can't help but think that Victor is very unreliable), while Emily is like a fun aunt.
* Abigail Williams took notice of Norman and Agatha's town's association with witch hunts, being responsible for starting such mass panic herself. It grieves her to know that a girl her age like Agatha was a victim of something she more-or-less started. Abigail is also sorry for history nearly repeating for Norman when the Blithe Hollow inhabitants became so panicked and hysterical due to the curse, they blamed Norman and nearly lynched him. Despite her bleak background, Norman believes Abigail is sincere about atoning and is willing to give her a chance. Agatha is not so forgiving however, and is cold to her whenever she meets up with them both. Still, Abigail will use her considerable powers to protect both of them, seeing them as the chance for atonement she was waiting for.
* They were friendly with the ghosts of their world, and they make it a point to try to be friendly with the House of Ghosts as well. Certainly a lot of that House's members are benign and reciprocate Norman and Agatha's interest, but then there are also pranksters like Gengar and Rotom who annoy the heck out of the two, and outright murderous spirits like Kayako and Sadako. With that said, Norman and Agatha were horrified to hear what led the two ghost girls to turn out that way and feel sorry for them. Unfortunately knowing that hasn't made it any easier to try to interact with them and convince them to let go, and Agatha is often forced to get [[{{Pun}} shockingly]] violent with them to protect herself and Norman.
* Due to their age, Norman and Agatha both go to the Elysium Academy, and there they have met Misao, who has a similar story to Agatha as a girl who was the victim of much injustice by some scummy people, which eventually led to her murder and haunting of the school she used to attend. Thankfully she is much happier in the Pantheon, and she hopes Agatha can be too, looking after her and Norman (who reminds her of Aki, the one who helped her move on) while they're at school.
* Norman's former ostracism previously made him a favorite target of bullies. It gave him a rather bleak view of people, but during his adventure he realized that it was wrong to think that just because there are bad people, it must mean there are no good ones. Still, he's come to realize that there exist some truly irredeemable bullies in the Pantheon, such as Gary Smith and Biff Tannen, who are looking to turn Norman and Agatha into targets in the Elysium Academy. While he does his best to ignore them, Norman doesn't see the need to hold back if they do something truly morally reprehensible, which those two are prone to do.
* Norman is a huge fan of B-grade horror movies. He tried getting Agatha into them as well, explaining to her what movies were and not to worry about what happened in them as they weren't real and that it might take her some getting used to all the gore. Surprisingly that wasn't really the case. After all, Agatha is used to seeing ghosts of people killed in gruesome ways, just like Norman. Not to mention she was responsible for a curse and raising zombies from their graves. In hindsight, Norman doesn't know why he thought she'd be freaked out. It's a stretch to say Agatha is a fan of them like Norman is though, maybe because it's hard not to compare herself and her past actions to the villains.
** Norman's fanning over such movies led to him discovering that many of their characters can be found in the Pantheon. In particular, he thinks it's really cool that there's a sort-of superhero team consisting of classic monsters like a giant woman, a human-turned-cockroach, a fish creature, a blob and a giant insect. He enjoys following their exploits, and Agatha will admit that she finds Susan's story of learning to be comfortable with herself inspiring.
** Of course on the other hand, Norman and Agatha also have to keep in mind that many other horror monsters and villains exist in the Pantheon and they really are as dangerous as they appear, unlike the zombies of the seven judges back in their world. For instance, even though the House of Ghosts is located within the House of Undead, that one is not a House they enter lightly, given three out of the four House leaders are some nasty folks, among which is counted GUAD leader Nekron, who Norman and Agatha find particularly revolting for his corruption and manipulation of the dead.
* Once the TropeNamer for ISeeDeadPeople ascended, he was curious to see who the ones holding a trope named after his SignatureLine. Cole was pleased that it were two equally ostracized children, and they have become good friends, always up to solve ghostly problems. Cole's psychiatrist Malcolm also took an interest in Norman and Agatha, pitying them for their lack of adult support.

* One of the short-lived foes of the ComicBook/JusticeSocietyOfAmerica was Charles Halsted, a disgruntled linotyper who used EmotionControl to commit crimes. In jail, he found a successor in the young and troubled Roger Hayden. Taking his mantle as the Psycho-Pirate, Hayden was an emotional vampire that forces emotion onto others. Fear, happiness, sadness, whatever he wants will do. And he's good at it.
* Though he has to take it off to use it, the Medusa Mask is what lets him control emotions. The House of Emotion considers it a very powerful artifact, though don't feel Hayden is all that dangerous compared to some of the other gods there. Well, exception the Auditors of Reality, who are utterly antithetical to the chaotic nature of emotions and Hayden can take them out with a PuffOfLogic. The Dementors find him both competition and bane because he can act as a living Patronus by making people happy.
* Capable of changing the emotions of those with little or no emotion like [[Pantheon/{{Calmness}} Rei Ayanami]] or the Incubators, however it requires a lot more effort and he gets exhausted doing so. Kyubey was more offended by it because Hayden decided to use him as a guinea pig and force emotions like sadness, fear and simple joy, [[BlueAndOrangeMorality an experience he found]] [[MindRape as being driven utterly insane]]. Of course most critics of the Incubators thought he had it coming.
* While it also lets him commit crimes, the Psycho-Pirate seems to enjoy manipulating emotions for the heck of it [[EmotionEater as he feeds off emotion]]. As such, he tends to associate himself with No Face, being masked figures who are [[EmotionEater emotion eaters]]. He seems to get along with the Invisible Man as they're both people who's powers let them commit crimes, and made them a bit loopy. Within the DC Universe he's recently sided with Bane so he can use his powers over emotion to help him drop his addiction to the Venom drug.
* Likes to compare masks with the House of Pantheon/{{Headwear}}, though he's not a mask enthusiast and just thinks some of them are cool. He is sure as hell not putting on SCP-035 as stylish as it is. Just in case anyone's asking, the Medusa Mask doesn't have anything to do with the other Medusa besides maybe the dangers of looking at his face. He stays away from as he can't use his Medusa Mask on them without looking them in the eye and [[TakenForGranite turned to stone]].
* The Anti-Monitor browbeat the Psycho-Pirate into serving him during the ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths. As a consequence, he was virtually the only person who's memories weren't affected by the CosmicRetcon, and it led to him becoming [[MediumAwareness aware of his fictional status]]. And he swore not to forget, but retcons and different writers led him to anyway(also [[ComicBook/InfiniteCrisis Black Adam crushing his skull]]). In the Trope Pantheon, he has become aware of it and the retcons once more, believing this is a result of the inherent metafictional nature of the pantheon.
* When made aware of the fourth wall during Creator/GrantMorrison's run on ''ComicBook/AnimalMan'', [[RageAgainstTheAuthor he came to loathe the writers]] and managed to briefly revive Pre-Crisis characters to get back at them. [[spoiler:Since he's fictional, he had no hope of attacking the real world and the writers were still in complete control]]. Malal, having become the god of CanonDiscontinuity, has convinced Hayden [[DealWithTheDevil to make a Faustian pact]] to try and restore these abilities and get revenge on the authors, all so the Retconnian can break out. Of course, the Psycho-Pirate is wary of being his agent considering how serving a higher power worked out for him [[ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths the first time]].
* Sometimes he drinks to take the stress of his MediumAwareness away, and he ends up meeting Deadpool. Much more adjusted to having NoFourthWall, his comical behavior was actually a relief to the Psycho-Pirate when a bit sloshed. He seems to like drinking with Nefarian as well, since his trolling nature mixed with how he [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall leans on the fourth wall]] is somewhat cathartic for the Psycho-Pirate. On a more serious note, he considers White Face's ability to threaten those beyond the fourth wall appealing for his own ambitions, though is wary working with him due to how dangerous he can be.
* According to ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'', good feelings and thoughts can be used to repel the Psycho-Pirate's influence. Hilariously, the Care Bares were able to push off his influence, and the Psycho-Pirate has hated them ever since because of the humiliation that brought. The Phantom Thieves have tried to fight off his influence due to using EmotionControl for crimes and other nefarious business. Hayden was quick to argue that they're hypocrites for doing so since they control peoples' emotions in a way by changing their heart to something they're not. Granted their targets are mostly [[HateSink loathsome]] and above justice by regular means, but he argues they're not so different anyway.
* The potential for brainwashing people through emotions is something that Zelenin wants from Psycho-Pirate, forcing the emotions of fervor, fanaticism and such for the forces of Law. Nerose Satanel wants the Psycho-Pirate in order to make everyone happy regardless of their free will. The Psycho-Pirate would rather keep his distance from them.

* An OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent tasked by his sister Kotori to save the world from the [[MagicalGirlWarrior Spirits]]… by dating them, thus the premise of his series. Shido wasn't the kind of guy who asked for trouble but never ran when trouble found, so he took the job, despite the trouble it would bring him. To do so, he has to make the Spirits fall in love with him, then he can absorb their magic powers into his body with a kiss, allowing them to have a normal life. He also later found out he could use Spirit powers in a limited range.
** Previously the High Priest for Keima Katsuragi, Kotori arranged for the Court of the Gods to ascend her brother and provide his own temple, not only for his "volunteering", but for the powers he can get from his harem, much as he's a bit ashamed about it. Despite how weird the situation was for him, Shido took his new position in stride and got to work.
* His sister Kotori received his brother with a big hug…[[{{Tsundere}} but then]] she regained her composure, cleared her throat and simply told Shido she was glad to see him as a deity at last. Everyone present gave her a big smile, knowing she had good intentions, and that she arranged for his ascension in the first place. His reunion with Yoshino was a lot smoother. He simply patted both her and Yoshinon's heads until they got asleep. Shido gently took her to her bed and turned off the lights on his way out.
* Weeks after he got settled in the Pantheon, he received news that Tohka and Origami had ascended. Unfortunately, they ascended at the same time, fueling their rivalry for Shido's affections. This forced Shido to go on separate dates with them, with Kotori and Ratatoskr providing assistance. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed and Shido helped them get acquainted to the Pantheon.
* The reason for his harem-based powers is this: [[spoiler:born Shinji Takamiya, he was the first person to meet Mio Takamiya, the First Spirit; who fell in love with him until he was killed by Isaac Wescott. To save his life, Mio absorbed Shido into her body and carried him in her womb, recreating him as a human/Spirit hybrid. The collective powers of the Spirits were always meant to be Shido's and the First Spirit merely turned regular humans into Spirits as a way to perfect and refine those powers until Shido eventually obtained them. Shido regained his memories from his past life, he understood that, spiritually and emotionally, he and Shinji were completely different people and convinced Mio to let go of her plans and instead move on to the afterlife, where Shinji was waiting for her.]]
* [[Pantheon/{{Thieves}} The Phantom Thieves of Hearts]] were on alert upon hearing of a Shido ascending, given that their story's BigBad ([[spoiler:[[GreaterScopeVillain though under Yaldabaoth/YHVH]]]]) has that name, and even heard rumors of Melkor's attempts to do so. They were relieved when it turned out that wasn't the case, given that this Shido has it as his given name. Their leader Akira also feels pity for him, remembering... Valentine's Day, which ended in loads of pain on his part, and he wishes the best for the Spirit harem leader.
* He spends most of his time cooking and cleaning after his temple, which is a perfect replica of his house, with three portals that take him between the Halls of Pantheon/OutlooksOnJob, Spiritual & Mental Powers, and Pantheon/LoveOther. A lot of gods are amazed by his excellent cooking and have recommended some tutoring from the House of Food. And he did from one [[Pantheon/{{Tastes}} Soma Yukihira]], who told him to keep experimenting with his recipes and never stop improving himself. While Shido took his lessons to heart, he felt a little intimidated by Soma's bombastic attitude and has mostly kept his cooking to comfort his friends, something that pleases [[Pantheon/{{Tastes}} Megumi Tadakoro]] greatly.
* Very good friends with fellow light novel protagonists Ayato Amagiri, Lux Arcadia and Touya Mochizuki, often discussing on how to improve their relationships with their harems. Also, despite his Japanese origin, some people think that Shido has more in common with Western heroes like Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter, so it's probably not a surprise that he gets along fine with them. They agree that true power comes not within oneself, but from the love one gives and receives from others, but Luke and Harry do point out that in [[HaremPowered Shido's case]], [[LiteralMinded it's a bit more literal]].
* Shares the same heroic ideals with Link and Ash Ketchum: to always walk the extra mile to help anyone who needs them. Even when he prefers the comforts of a normal life, Shido has has accompanied them in their fantastic adventures across the Pantheon. They also have on certain occassions had to crossdress to infiltrate girl-only areas. Make no mistake: they ''will'' do it for the greater good, but don't expect them to be happy about it. The only reason Shido cross-dressed at all in the first place was to seal a Spirit who was, to put it bluntly, not into men like him (though even after finding out, the Spirit in question agrees to go out with him, but ''only'' if he's crossdressing).
* Became surprised that there were other deities in the Pantheon with [[Creator/NobunagaShimazaki voices similar]] to his, such as Kaito Kirishima, Ichiro Sato and Haruto Tsukishiro. Because of their love problems and crazy adventures, a friendship between the four was all too predictable. They enjoy playing video games, eating great food, having adventures in the dreamscape or just talking on how to improve their relationships.
** There is some awkwardness in his meetings with Corrin and Souji Mitsuka, as Shido finds it weird Corrin has a female form and Souji Mitsuka only has superpowers when he [[SuperGenderBender transforms into a twin-tailed girl]]. Of course, given the weirdness of his own world, he feels like he shouldn't judge.
* Originally, he was is a memeber of the Pantheon/GUAGSupportStaff, cooking their meals and keeping their base clean; until he was reassigned to the Pantheon/GUAGCombatDivision for his increase in power and combat prowess, to the point [[spoiler:he temporarily killed Isaac Westcott in one timeline]]. The Pantheon/GUAGRelationshipEnchancers insisted on his membership, thanks to his sizeable harem. Shido has politely declined, but keeps his friendship open with them. He can't help but wonder what [[Creator/JoshGrelle strange connection]] he has with Issei Hyodo and Ichika Orimura.
* Feels glad Samurai Jack eventually reunited with [[Pantheon/ActsOfFriendship Ashi]]. Shido can relate to that, particulary after what happened to Rinne and Mayuri. Admiring the boy for his compassion, Jack and Ashi wished him well.
* Is good friends with ''Enterprise'' captains James T. Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard, given the moral dilemmas they face are quite similar to his own. Kirk has given some advice in how to attract more women, while Picard simply {{facepalm}}s (as usual) at the ridiculous things Shido often does to reach out to the Spirits.
* Thanks to his idealism and desire to do the right thing, he has earned long-lasting friendships with Superman and Spider-Man. Shido sees both superheroes as mentors and visits them as much as he is able searching for guidance and counsel. He also admires Clark for settling down and starting a family, and tells Peter not to beat himself up over the choices he has made, saying that in time, he will find happiness.
* Occassionally gets into philosophical debates with [[Pantheon/IntrovertFlaws Hachiman Hikigaya]] about morality and what it means to establish meaningful connections with others. Although he disagrees with Hachiman's cynicism, he certainly appreciates his intelligence. He often tries to get him and Keima to spend some time together, to no avail.
* Cadance worries about Shido's position; the fact that a lot of lives rely on him dating ''a lot'' of girls (specifically potentially dangerous ones, though) and ''keeping them all happy''. Kyu on the other hand, while concerned as well, is ecstatic, now that she can feel justified in doing what she does. She also works with Kotori in this regard so that Shido eventually won't need to be guided on dating every step of the way, though the fact that there are much fewer people [[InvisibleToNormals she can be invisible to]] does prove problematic.
* Feels sorry for the Master Chief for failing to save Cortana even when he fought tooth-and-nail for her. It brings back memories of Rinne and Mayuri. He is also one of the very few people who don't give Robb Stark grief in choosing love over duty and says no man should ever be put in that situation. Shido sincerely hopes both men can find peace one day.
** Felt glad that Cortana had ascended and reunited with John. Aware of Cortana's actions in [[VideoGame/Halo5Guardians the mortal plane]] and his own experience with Maria Arusu, Shido hopes she can find a way to redeem herself]]. He recommended Maria as Cortana's High Priestess, to which she accepted.
* Praises [[Pantheon/OutlooksOnLife Jon Snow]] for successfully uniting the factions of the North under a common cause, similar to what he is trying to do with the Spirits. Jon at least appreciates Shido's kindness and sees much of himself in the boy; also, his cooking helps keeping his soldiers fed. Jon admits he finds it weird that Shido has been killed and resurrected multiple times, compared to Jon's single serious case of stabbing.
-->'''Jon''': That must really hurt.
-->'''Shido''': *sigh* You get used to it.
* Even a good man like Shido can have his limits, especially as seen with Isaac Westcott, the evil mage who wants to become a god and create a world only for mages. Anyone who reminds him of Westcott will earn Shido's enmity:
** Absolutely hates Lord Voldemort for his cruelty and lack of remorse for his actions, seeing him as no better than Isaac Wescott. The fact that they are both British is merely a coincidence, okay? Don't get any funny ideas.
** Not fond of Khan Noonien Singh (the [[Film/StarTrekIntoDarkness Kelvin]] version, at least) either because he betrayed Kirk when TheGoodCaptain was only trying to help him. He finds his love for his family hypocritical and self-serving, given that he killed Kirk's mentor and threatened to kill Kirk and the ''Enterprise'' crew as well when TheGoodCaptain risked his own life to save him. Crashing the ''Vengeance'' into San Francisco just to screw over the Federation will not get him any sympathy points with Shido either.
** Absolutely pissed with Altair/Military Uniform Princess for escaping punishment for the crap she pulled. While he can sympathize with the death of her mother, he says that's not an excuse for her actions and that it's not all about her. He is also horrified by what she did to [[MagicalGirl Mamika]] and [[KnightInShiningArmor Aliceteria]] and promised to do whatever he can stop her.
* Can also be found in Pantheon/LoveOther.
* ''"If people refuse to accept you, I'll just accept you even more."''

* Maruki was a researcher of cognitive science—[[HollywoodPsych the psychological study of how the mind perceives the world around them]]—and was one of the first to have delved into the subject as extensively as one could at the very least. The start of his research into cognition was caused after a personal tragedy had Maruki awaken to his ability of Actualization, [[FakeMemories the power to change a person’s cognition]]. Though his research was met warmly, it was shut down and seized by TheConspiracy that was dead set in using it to gain power. Since his career was basically annihilated as a result, Maruki went onto being a therapist for others and actualizing their perceptions of themselves to improve their lives--for better or for worse. Maruki was eventually hired by a certain academy that faced scandal at the time to help students cope—leading to Maruki coming into contact with a certain crew of thieves who are united by [[TrueCompanions finding camaraderie]] with their mutual tragedies. With their unwitting help, Maruki eventually completed the research he desperately started. At the same time, during his presentation of his new thesis to those who rejected him, Yaldabaoth had begun his attempt at fusing Mementos to reality—likely thanks to his deep bond with the Phantom Thieves that Maruki had not fallen in the illusion. This moment be the trigger that fully awaked his Persona, Azathoth. Utilizing his extremely powerful Persona, Maruki used Azathoth’s powers to keep Mementos from being unfused and used his Palace as his base of operations, [[LotusEaterMachine granting the wishes of the public through their dreams and intending to have the reality he constructed replace the old reality, much like Yaldabaoth]]. His plan was ultimately foiled when the Phantom Thieves changed his heart, having him end his ambitions. Due to the lack of maliciousness from his plot, [[EasilyForgiven he still remains on good terms with the Phantom Thieves]]. Though his Persona may be sealed, he was given a seat in the Pantheon due to how audacious his plan was when it came to granting the wishes of others.
* His ranking in the Pantheon has been complicated due to how quickly he rose into power and how quickly it diminished. Though debated whether or not his abilities to alter another’s cognition are from his Persona or being a unique ability Maruki has, [[AppliedPhlebotinum it is generally agreed that both abilities are abnormally powerful within the realm of the Metaverse]]. The true debate enters whether Maruki still has these powers at all after his changing of heart, or if those abilities that still remain hold the same potency beforehand. Maruki solved this debate by saying that his Persona may no longer be inside of him, [[DemotedMemories as the conviction that brought his Persona out no longer exists]]. Since Personas are created and evolve on a user’s mental state, if the state no longer exists the Persona is unlikely to still exist as well. Maruki would like to bring up to support his theory the time when Persona users had their memories erased of an adventure where their Personas evolved (one which included the Phantom Thieves themselves) but upon having their memories wiped had their Personas’ evolutions reversed. Maruki assumes that his cognition altering power work around the same principles, having been sealed as well thanks to the lack of motivation. Maruki even said he does not qualify for Demi status since [[CareerKiller whatever career he had as a researcher had went down the toilet]], with Maruki switching to being a measly taxi driver as a new career.
-->'''Maruki''': I know that people take this [[PowerLevels power leveling scale]] seriously, like that ''WebAnimation/DeathBattle'' thing kids keep talking about. But really, it doesn’t matter to me—I’m satisfied where I am now and people should not dwell in pointless conversations on if I could hypothetically beat ''this'' guy or ''that'' guy.
* Though not truly close, the Phantom Thieves remain good friends with Maruki even after their battle with him. [[AntiVillain Maruki never intended any misery to come to them or anybody for that matter and only wished for them to see that his utopia was what was better reality for everyone across the planet]]. The Phantom Thieves ultimately decided his true paradise was a farce that took the will of people they fought for and eventually, brought Maruki and his plan down. [[RippleEffectProofMemory And yes, Maruki retained the entire memory of his plan]]. Though Maruki still wishes to help people, he knows that perhaps what can be called a TakeOverTheWorld plot is now way out of his league. He refuses to be asked for his theories on cognitive science out of fear somebody will attempt the same plot he had and makes it a point the best advice he could give for someone’s personal troubles is through small talk on a taxi ride.
* Confused on Goro Akechi's presence in the Pantheon, as when he had inspected in Joker’s memories of him, Maruki was unsure if Goro Akechi survived his assassination attempt just as much as anybody has. He then theorized that perhaps that Akechi—[[spoiler:much like in his reality]]—was a [[ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve cognitive construct created from the memories of others]] to fill the actual persons role. Though it is not as if Maruki wishes to check if the theory is true, or that Goro would actually let him lest he’d rip Maruki’s fingers off. Due to TheMultiverse nature of the Pantheon, Maruki then pondered on a new theory: perhaps the Pantheon itself and everyone within it was a cognitive construct, made from the perception of those who are aware of the adventures—which means Maruki the God himself may not be real. [[BroadStrokes This explains the many conjoined yet contradicting events within a deity’s memories, how the Pantheon itself does not adhere to the rules of other universes, and how people erased from existence arrive to the Pantheon intact]]. Maruki decided wisely not to investigate further, as he may cross a boundary that may set the Pantheon on existential ''fire''.
* Though he was close to usurping his position, Maruki does not have kind things to say about Yaldabaoth. He does not see the world where everyone accepts being in a [[CrapsackWorld perpetual state of misery]] being ideal as Yaldabaoth describes. Yaldabaoth retorts that Maruki granting the wishes of individuals would also place the world into a perpetual state of decay just as he had, theoretically even worse as nobody will have a reason to contribute anything to the world anymore and that what would have likely would happen in Maruki’s reality was that even if he did grant the deepest wishes of people they would just replace their granted desires with a new desire until they wish to freaking die or fall asleep forever. Maruki knows that arguing with a giant mechanical god would be more like talking to a giant mechanical brick wall, so he just ignores Yaldabaoth screeching about how humanity needs to be controlled. Maruki wonders if he’s the reason why Yaldabaoth keeps talking on the YHVH radio channel Maruki hears 0.5 seconds of before switching to the next channel.
-->'''Yaldabaoth''': '''''THE PEOPLE NEED TO ADHERE TO ORDER, THERE ARE NO PLACES FOR INDIVDU-'''''
-->'''Maruki''': Okay, I’m not having any of that. [[ChangeTheUncomfortableSubject Switching the dial...]]
* Even though Igor and his assistants helped the Phantom Thieves stop Maruki, as his making a stagnating world would have been a death sentence for human evolution—Philemon, their master does not see anything wrong with Maruki’s plan. In fact, not only does Philemon not see anything wrong with Maruki’s plan but states that he wishes Maruki should have won. The reasoning is because Philemon has [[ItsBeenDone done a similar plan]] to combat Nyarlathotep, as if evil were not to exist as Maruki theorizes thanks to wish-granting given then Nyarlathotep would cease to exist. However, Philemon recognizes the flaws in Maruki’s reality just like Yaldabaoth has, knowing that a slew of new entities born from the human unconsciousness desires will arise, perhaps even stronger than Maruki himself. Though he does not say this publicly to anybody lest he wants all the Persona users he recruits to leave him out of disgust for disregarding their fight for humanity’s freedom, he does favor Maruki as a Persona user for sharing the same ideals as he does (even if Maruki was never someone on his mind until his awakening). Philemon wishes he could recruit Maruki as a Persona user but Maruki told him that the former researcher did not have interest for the supernatural any longer. A shame but Philemon cannot force Maruki to work for him... [[HereWeGoAgain so it’s time for Philemon to construct a new Persona user who shares the same ideals as Maruki and himself]].
* Persona users, despite being cordial with Maruki hold conflicting thoughts towards him as he represents another threat that intends to subjugate humanity into a false reality made by them. Or at least he was prior to the change of heart. Even Maruki questions if he was not so different regarding his actions, as even if he was not born from humanity’s collective unconsciousness, it is arguable his Persona awakening was made to fulfill his and that desire on wishing for good tidings for themselves. Does not hold kindness to those same beings however, as even he acknowledges their attitudes are much more malevolent. Though to be fair, those who do intend for the [[WellIntentionedExtremist best for humanity genuinely even if their actions are the antithesis to that]] has his sympathizes like Ryoji.
* Has interests towards the ''Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei'' universe as much like his own, humanity creates supernatural entities from their own collective viewpoints towards the world. Regardless, even though the deities from their scream out that they are almighty beings from mythology, Maruki sees them on a scientific angle—them not being unlike Shadows. This statement enrages every demon out there, refusing to believe their nature can be comparable to the lesserly powerful Shadows who “imitate“ their appearances. Along the same lines, Maruki also brings attention to how completely dumb the OrderVersusChaos state that their universe is in, as Maruki would like to tell complete anarchy would just delve into order again. Even Lucifer apparently knows this judging by the [[TheSocialDarwinist darwinist society]] he wishes to creates. Not to say that Maruki believes order should rule over all (especially since he took Yaldabaoth’s place) but could only inform that chaos leads to a desire for order, which leads into a desire for chaos. All demons are fighting a losing battle, which makes him pity their existence.
* Not even he knows what his abilities on manipulating cognition are. All Maruki knows that his power first arrived when it automatically erase his girlfriend’s trauma (as well as their relationship). At the time, Maruki’s Persona had not awakened, making it questionable whether or not his Persona is the cause fo his ability, or just something that exponentially increases his power (though likely the former answer seems the most probable). Though Maruki cannot use his ability any longer, he still remains curious and though he shouldn’t, [[GodzillaThreshold tried to delve back into the supernatural by contacting with THE Azathoth himself for an answer]]. Though Azathoth as a Persona may just be a projection of his own conscious, considering how omniscient the Lovecraftian gods are, their maker probably knows something. Curiosity got the better of Maruki when Azathoth went to visit his dreams. [[TheseAreThingsManWasNotMeantToKnow Maruki came out of that dream learning some things he found both intriguing and a bit freaky]].
* Though it may rather impressive, people do downplay Maruki’s power as just being similar to hypnosis. The effects may seen similar on the surface but altering a person’s cognition would have more dire consequences when it comes to brainwashing someone. For one, hypnosis is behavioral change by the switch of a trigger. For cognition, the entire worldview of a person changes. They can believe an entirely different ideology, have an entirely different attitude, or even have their entire identity switch to another. Though not as instant as hypnosis, a person having their cognition change is much more subtle and onlookers would wonder if you are just in a mood or became insane. That is not even beginning to describe how devastatingly powerful that is regarding the Metaverse. Maruki gave a rather... confusing explanation about how it works to those who are curious.
-->'''Maruki''': So let’s use a stand-in for myself. Let’s call him... [[CreatorInJoke D]]. D wants to kick everyone down, but does not want any consequences from it. So D gets to work on a machine that can change people’s cognition. D then uses it on people and changes their cognition to feel happy when D does horrible things to them. We as humans typically seen harmful things done to us as negative but if you can change them to feel positive feelings towards these harmful actions, then... what was that word? Masochism? I apologize if you think [[ThoughtAversionFailure this conversation is going somewhere gross]] but that is the best way I can illuminate how powerful changing someone’s cognition is like. Okay, let me see what the fare is...
* Malevolent beings who pervert people’s dreams like Vaermina and Freddy Krueger find Maruki to be a dire threat, especially when he could just grant the wishes of dreamers without any evil intent behind them. Adding to this, Maruki’s former abilities over cognition can [[CrashingDreams completely mess up a dream perverter’s actions within a dream]]. They all hold grudges against Maruki for this but do not attempt to try to assassinate him in his dreams, as that might be the trigger that reawakens his Persona. Slaanesh—who can reasonable rival Maruki even if he had won—also recognizes that Maruki’s potential may not have limits if he were to reawaken his powers and wants to stay as far away from him as possible.
* The Anti-Spiral sees Maruki in a conflicting light. Though his plan’s effect would have humans (a Spiral species) to [[ModernStasis live in stagnation]], Maruki’s wish granting would perhaps spiral ([[{{Pun}} heh]]) out of control [[WantingIsBetterThanHaving due to people’s desires escalating once their prior wishes are made true]]. Though the Anti-Spiral can see the benefits on having Maruki finish his plans, the risks have far too many consequences to consider. As for Maruki who cannot accomplish any of those things the Anti-Spiral fears...
-->'''Maruki''': I’m sorry to be frank, but I don’t care. I just don’t care about your interests. Maybe talk to it with a Discord server but don’t drag me into your rabbit hole.
** Similarly, the Incubators also believe that Maruki’s wish granting tendencies are a threat to the entire scope of the universe. Sure, they make contractual wishes to grant as well but they expect a MagicalGirl to contribute to the destruction of entropy. In Maeuki’s Actualized world, nobody would bother doing anything outside of monotonous life, which makes girls they prey upon have a reason to fight the universe’s heat death. Additionally, [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor Maruki granting wishes may contribute to further entropy]] due to how much power he must consume in doing things like altering events or bringing people BackFromTheDead. For these reasons, it is the Incubator’s best interest to keep Maruki from ever having a new motivation to awaken his Persona.
-->'''Maruki''': Again, go to a Discord over this. I’m just a plain taxi driver now.
* Nerose Satanael knows all too well on [[GettingSmiliesPaintedOnYourSoul wanting to have people not suffer any longer]]—which is the ideal Satanael’s Law bases itself on. If it were not because of Maruki’s change of heart, Satanael would name Maruki as his successor if he were to reattempt his plans. Satanael remains curious on Maruki’s cognition altering too, and keeps infrequent tabs on the man to see if those powers will return.
* Maruki, though very much a mellow person just wanting to get by at life now does not like the Illuminati or the Patriots at all. It makes sense, considering that TheConspiracy led by Masayoshi Shido was the main reason why Maruki’s cognition research was widespread. Though he knows holding a grudge is pointless, Maruki does know all three conspiracies are the cause of more than one miserable circumstance as does not want them to inflict that same harm towards others. If he had any sort of authority, Maruki would try to uncover their schemes. However, [[KnowWhenToFoldEm he is just a mere taxi driver and taxi drivers cannot do anything significant especially against government conspiracies]]. He only shares what he knows from the grape vine (gossip from his passengers) to the Phantom Thieves, those he knows can make an impact on corrupt society.
* Does not... particularly understand what Junko Enoshima’s goal is at all. [[DespairGambit She wants to make people have despair and at the same time, give herself despair]]? She takes pleasure from people falling into despair but she does not want to feel pleasure from it. Yet, she feels pleasure also when she despairs herself? Its a strange dichotomy worth researching over if Maruki was not a taxi driver. This interest was made when Junko rode in Mariki’s cab and went to give a despair tangent that he did not know the prompting for. When she tried to give him a wallet as a tip, he said no to it. Maruki told Junko that she should feel happy that she would keep her money, and that if despair gave her enjoyment, then she should find other things to enjoy too. Maruki then drove off, leaving a speechless Junko. Not because she was given food for thought—[[ExplosiveResults it was due to the wallet being a bomb and Junko did not know where the toss it before it blew up]].
* Madara Uchiha sees Maruki as a rival, with Maruki himself not knowing about. As Maruki’s Actualization plan also was making people live out their best dreams, Madara believes that Maruki [[ItsBeenDone was ripping his plan off]]. Not that he is mad at it, as Madara believes Maruki would be a fantastic opponent to fight against. Or at least, it would be if Maruki did not lose his Persona powers. Madara does not see much joy when it comes to fighting a regular taxi driver, so wants to satiate his own desires by fighting more capable people. He looks forwards to the day if Maruki gets his powers back, and then Madara would wish to see what a Persona user at their maximum power fights like. Obito wants to also reawaken Maruki’s powers, but for the sole purpose to have Madara stop being a BloodKnight by having his cognition change.
* Maruki can get a better read on the Madoka and Homura conflict much better than most people could. He acknowledges both girls’ biggest issue they have can be said in one question. “Who is worth caring for the most?” Madoka cares for all magical girls throughout existence, and protecting happiness came first. Which is why even if she could make herself exist again, [[HeroicSacrifice Madoka chose to leave her friends and family behind to perform the duty on granting happiness]]. Whereas Homura, who sees Madoka as the most important person in her life believes that Madoka should not burden herself with others’ suffering, and she should live her mortal life. Yes, it is a stance made from Homura’s selfish desire to keep Madoka to herself but in Homura’s perspective, Madoka was selfish for abandoning everyone she knew to [[TheNeedsOfTheMany become a symbol]] to others. Obviously, Maruki knows Madoka is the more sympathetic of the two and that even if Madoka’s wish was selfish, it was to the benefit for others. But he would like people to see Homura’s side too, and would also like to add she is an early teen and is not the most emotionally mature person yet no matter how much looping she went through. Maruki also believes people are extrapolating too much from the situation. [[TrueArtIsAngsty People are stating the upheaval the symbolizes the death of happy heroines and that its better not to live through that misery]]. [[DealWithTheDevil Others state that Homura mirror’s Lucifer fall from grace and that its a Shakespearean tragedy to showcase Homura’s descent to madness]]. [[RootingForTheEmpire Some say Madoka does not deserve her power because she is too idealistic]]. All of those statements are valid Maruki feels, but he just tells them all to take it as it is instead of going into deep arguments on the morality behind it. People just do bad things sometimes and they might stick for a long time, it really is not as complex people would like to say.
* Challenges The White regarding the idea that everything in the universe should vanish because they do not see a solution regarding OrderVersusChaos. Maruki agrees that those fundamental states likely will conflict forevermore but also argues that destroying it all is pointless, as that does not solve anything. [[EternalRecurrence All that does is just make way for a new war, just starting the cycle all over]]. The White sees nothing wrong with their logic, and said Maruki was foolish for believing that his idea of peace was an ideal solution.
* He is a fan of heroes—as in heroes who are willing to do anything to having everybody smile by the end of it all. Yusuke Godai, Wander, Shirou Emiya are amongst those Maruki admires, as they embody his goal on making people smile. Unfortunately, Maruki also idolizes those who would cause a [[NecessarilyEvil certain amount if misery for the wider benefit of others]] like Kiritsugu Emiya. The former therapist wishes he could have don the black coat as well as he can don a white and gold one.
* Though he does not have that connection any longer, Maruki has been a welcome guess at the Hall of Pantheon/DreamsAndNightmares, even getting a personal welcome from Dream of the Endless. Considering his actions on basically were unintentionally violating people’s dreams, it would come as a surprise that he was given praise there. Additionally, since many others in the House also enter people’s dreams they do not see much of a problem with Maruki. Blackiris and Lan also are friends with Maruki for aiding people with their dreams though he would tell them that he have might gone a little bit... overboard regarding how much happiness he wanted to give to others. They believe that Maruki was exaggerating that statement, not being aware how far Maruki would have gone for that happiness. [[{{Understatement}} If only they knew...]]
* Though a studied in the human psychology for many years, even Maruki thought that Xehanort’s true plan on wanting to erase evil by using Kingdom Hearts to remove light as so jarring, he thought he was faking it like many others. [[EvilIsHammy Xehanort never let it slip that was his true goal with his behavior as he and his minions keeps prattling on about the darkness, his aesthetic primarily uses darkness, and whenever he does something evil Xehanort would gloat about it]]. Maruki can only speculate that either [[ThePowerOfActing Xehanort was that really good of an actor]], [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone he went to change his goals at the last second]], [[AssPull or some divine being somewhere just had Xehanort’s priorities switch for no apparent reason other than sympathy points]]. Which answer is most accurate? Who knows?
* Was given an offer by Angus Bumby to have his research more widespread as Maruki is simply sitting on it. Maruki was VERY suspicious on someone wanting his research (as Shido took his to manipulate politics) and went to Bumby with a squadron behind his back. It was then Bumby came in trying to hypnotize Maruki to give his work but [[ImmuneToMindControl it did not work]] surprisingly enough. After Maruki saw Bumby getting thrown to a police car, he wonders of perhaps some of his cognitive abilities remain after all... or maybe it did not work on someone wearing glasses. [[SureLetsGoWithThat Either answer will do just fine.]]
* Frasier Crane has read Maruki’s work regarding cognition and if it were not the supernatural elements inside it, then anybody with interest towards psychology would find his paper as necessary reading. Feels nothing but shame for the wider psychology community dismissing his work, [[UsefulNotes/LogicalFallacies using it as an example of ignorance halting progress]].
* Cosmos was willing to let his join the GUAG, reawakening his Persona if he chooses but Maruki and every other Persona told her that would be a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, '''bad''' idea. Maruki does not believe he will use his powers wisely if he does regain them, but thanks Cosmos for having the confidence that he could. Surprisingly, Cosmos has Maruki’s taxi service as a “secret” transportation if teleporting was too comprisable and she had to go see someone face-to-face. Its strictly confidential and Maruki charges her extra for it. [[OnlyInItForTheMoney He needs to make money too]].
* Travis Bickle really does not like Maruki, with it being arguable that Bickle serves as the EvilCounterpart to Maruki. One taxi driver is optimistic for the world while another is extremely cynical towards it. However, both agree that they have take action itself to have life change... that would be the case if Maruki did not have his heart change. Bickle now just treats Maruki with disdain, citing the guy now lost his balls to do what he wants to do. Maruki, being a polite person did not say Bickle also had his balls fall off too after being [[AccidentalHero mistaken for a hero]].
* If there is anybody he wishes he could help out more, it would be Mary... or Mari. He was drawn to her at the Hall of Dreams, momentarily weakness from his curiosity. What he saw there was very disturbing memories of Mary’s sexual abuse, making Maruki almost wish he was capable of changing her memories for the better. It was then Maruki almost had Azathoth emerge again but his change of heart held brought him back down before it could happen. [[TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening That dream he saw gave that much impact to him.]]
* Had his car [[ChronicallyCrashedCar utterly and completely broken]] when he had left for a sandwich. Turns out the West Coast Cabbies were the ones to crush it during one of their taxi escapades. Maruki sent them the bill for repairs and wonders who the heck hires these guys and who the heck gave them a driving/taxi license.
* Maruki gets along well with Wanda Maximoff, AKA The Scarlet Witch. He feels sympathetic towards her due to all the pain and trauma she and her brother have been through in the past. Also, the fact that Wanda [[ComicBook/HouseOfM did something similar to what he did when she warped reality with her powers to create a world where all her friends could be happy]] hits a little close to home for Maruki, and as a result, they understand each other perfectly well on that kind of issue. Plus, Maruki is one of the few people who doesn’t judge her for what she did back then, so that helps too.
* Has learned of the deities who [[WesternAnimation/InfinityTrain entered a train that made them confront their inner turmoil]] and wanted to get an interview with them. Simon Laurent refused, Lake flicked him off, Grace Monroe closed the door on him. Tulip was the only one who was willing to talk to him about her experiences and how she was nearly trapped in a video tape of fake memories in regards to her parents still being together and was even tempted by the Conductor to live in a car where she didn't have to deal with the fallout of their divorce. Tulip refused such an offer because in her words, it wouldn't be ''real''. She's put him at an arm's length due to his past with the use of the Metaverse, but she still talks to him from time to time since it's better than having no therapist to rely on.
* ''“Don't sleep through—dreams that can come true—No more tears shall drop from your cheeks anymore—you won't need to—strive for greatness—Believe in me—That you don't need to suffer from—Anything”'- '''''[[ThematicThemeTune Throw Your Mask Away]]'''''
