That being said, their offer still had its effect: they now try to treat Ur-Quan as the lesser priority targets just in case the Prethoryn decides to change their mind. Their relationship with [[Pantheon/{{Challenge}} Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah]], however, is much more directly hostile, as Kohr-Ah would be glad to drive them to extinction, which the Prethoryn does not appreciate at all. |

The crew's members consisted of brain surgeon Dr. Duval (to perform the prodecure to save Benes), his technical assistant Peterson (to maintain the laser needed for the internal surgery), circulatory specialist Dr. Michaels (to navigate the path through the body), Navy officer Owens (to pilot the submarine), and CIA agent Grant (to watch for sabotage; he also previously helped Benes defect). In the course of this pioneering voyage, Dr. Michaels was discovered to be a traitor trying to sabotage the mission, but despite his attempts to kill Benes and the rest of the crew, he wound up getting consumed by a white blood cell together with the submarine. Benes' brain surgery was ultimately a success and the remaining crew managed to safely return both outside and to their original sizes. |

There the crew was given a warm welcome by a host of different beings and offered deification. They reported what was going on to CMDF and after many hours of deliberation, plus repeated assurances from Sora that everything was okay and they could go back any time, it was agreed the four should become members of the Pantheon for the sake of research; part of the reason for this decision was that Benes woke up in the meanwhile and it turns out he lost the memory of his discoveries, stalling development in the science of miniaturization as far as their world is concerned. Perhaps this Pantheon holds some worthwhile secrets regarding that. |

The House of Military and Warfare naturally feels the other way around, with most of its inhabitants wanting to see the turns that the Cold War would take thanks to miniaturization. Among the four voyagers, Duval and Peterson also take a active interest in the medical applications of miniaturization, while Grant and Owens appreciate not getting involved in someone else's wars, so the CMDF's policy suits them. |
