1	* God damn "Mitternacht" from ''Music/{{Autobahn}}''... that screeching is simply HellIsThatNoise to the extreme.
2	* The middle section of "Autobahn" (between 8 and 11 minutes in) sounds noticeably darker and unusually haunting [[MoodWhiplash compared to the rest of the song.]] Those creepy synths emulating the sounds of oncoming traffic on a motorway... ''brr...''
3	* Dear god though, the album ''Music/TransEuropeExpress'' is absolutely locked and loaded with this stuff - [[https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51etKFVLlYL.jpg from the album cover down.]] Not that the [[http://dis.resized.images.s3.amazonaws.com/540x540/54022.jpeg remastered version]] did it any better...
4	** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a15yqZ1uL9A "The Hall of Mirrors"]] sounds like something you'd hear right off a UsefulNotes/GameBoy horror game.
5	** Also terrifying? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ9Stc9ONyY "Showroom Dummies"]] Especially so for anyone who knows ''Series/DoctorWho'', or that episode of ''Franchise/TheTwilightZone'' called "The After Hours" (made in both the [[Series/TheTwilightZone1959 1959]] and [[Series/TheTwilightZone1985 1985]] versions) where the mannequins are alive.
6	** The {{title track}} has to be one of the most notorious examples of this. Where to begin? Okay, you've got those synths doing terrifying impressions of trains, an even more terrifying vocoded voice repeating [[TitleDrop "TRANS. EUROPE. EXPRESS."]] over and over.. it's nothing but a musical train ride from hell!
7	** "Metal On Metal", which immediately follows the above track, [[FromBadToWorse gets even scarier.]] It's exactly the same as above except without the "TRANS. EUROPE. EXPRESS" thingy, but the synths are now throwing in impressions of the atmosphere of a rail works plant. [[HellIsThatNoise "BANG. DING DING. BANG BANG. CHK CHK. BANG. DING DING. BANG BANG. 8	* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDaBD_z1VqQ "Chrono"]] from ''Tour De France'' can land in this category, especially when it comes from an album that's barely even got a drop of NightmareFuel on its [[{{Pun}} axles.]]
9	* "Uranium" from ''Radio-Activity'' sounds really eerie, like waking up in an unknown landscape that could very well be the afterlife if that heavenly going-on in the background is suggesting anything -- or a post-apocalyptic wasteland. And then there's that slow, broken voice... holy crap.

There's certainly something unnerving about four men clad in red with steely gazes staring into the distance while on a staircase.
12	* "Metropolis" from ''The Man Machine'' has synths which have melodies that sound pretty intimidating.
13	** In an eerie coincidence, the song ''perfectly'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P2iUJucbk4 syncs up with the first five minutes]] of the [[Film/{{Metropolis}} film]] on which it's based.
14	* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVTngRCf9vk "Ohm Sweet Ohm"]] on the ''Radioactivity'' album. With the looped synthetic voice and the funereal organ, it's like a computer singing longingly about its own blood. Maybe it'll come for yours next.
15	* Several pieces from their first two albums, including the first half of "Stratovarius", the middle of "Ruckzuck", and the intro of "Kling Klang".
16	* "Kometenmelodie Part 1" is a dark and spooky piece, which [[FadingIntoTheNextSong segues into the second movement]] [[LastNoteNightmare with a high-pitched whistle]].
17	* The ominous OpeningNarration for "Radioactivity" on the second half of ''Minimum-Maximum''.
