Little {{Creator/Lauren|Faust}}'s already had experience with [[SurprisinglyCreepyMoment dropping terrifying moments into seemingly colorful shows]]... and this one would be no exception.
----
!!#[=MeetTheCheetah=]
* This episode introduces the Cheetah, and being a stealth villain, one can expect a lot of atmospheric scares.
** First off, the fact that the entirety of the second half takes place ''in the dark''. It more or less resembles a horror movie after a while.
** Each of the girls (except Wonder Woman) gets taken off one by one. Especially since it seems like the Cheetah isn't even there... until she strikes. Batgirl's tracker, for example, keeps showing a red dot approaching her. Everywhere she seems to come from, she's not there until she gets caught. Oh, and that's because the Cheetah [[Film/{{Alien}} lunged at her from the ceiling]].
*** How does Diana find Bumblebee in the climax? She sees Cheetah ''biting'' her wings when in tiny mode. And if she didn't arrive, she would have ''eaten'' her! Yikes! If that doesn't show how bloodthirsty she is, what will?
** After everything seems said and done, we are given one last shot of Barbi washing her face in the bathroom.
---> '''Barbi:''' Let go of the [[GreenEyedMonster green-eyed monster]], eh, Diana? ''[her mascara runs, resembling the Cheetah]'' [[EvilFeelsGood And why would I ever want to let go]] ''[eyes and teeth shift] [[NightmareFace of this]]''? ''[starts laughing evilly, facing the screen, while the scene {{fade|AroundTheEyes}}s]''
!!#[=ShockItToMe=]
* This episode as a whole is pretty disturbing, especially if you've been a victim of cyberbullying. To put this in perspective, the girls (sans Diana) were so embarrassed after their fights with Livewire that they were ''unwilling to even fight'' (at first).
** It only gets worse in the climax where Livewire was outright willing to ''murder'' Diana in front of a whole crowd, [[EveryoneHasStandards who immediately stop laughing and realize how serious the situation is]].
** Also, Livewire hammering in the fact that everyone (initially) found her pain funny. Doubles as a TearJerker when it seems Diana is actually thinking that she may be right.
--->'''Livewire:''' See, Blunder Woman? The people ''love'' me! Hear them laugh? Laughing at ''you''? You're just a ''joke'' to them!
!![=#SoulSisters=]
* Katana, despite being a WellIntentionedExtremist. Stealthy, ruthless, and comes with a magic sword that can steal the souls of anyone the blade hits. As demonstrated throughout the episode, starting with a criminal, all of the Super Villain Girls, and, [[CurbStompBattle within two minutes of Part 2]], all of the girls except for Wonder Woman.
** The victims leave glowing blue eyes and their bodies are left desaturated, which is a little more than unnerving.
** The fact that the thief Katana was attempting to kill was [[NeverHurtAnInnocent just a man attempting to get back into his car]] and had [[TakingTheBullet Diana not stepped in the way to save him]], she would have wrongfully captured an innocent soul, not that doing the same to ''Wonder Woman'' is much better ...
!![=#RageCat=]
* Even before Dexter gets his Red Lantern Power Ring, he's a dangerous and vicious cat who maims everyone. Once he ''does'' get his ring, he becomes much more dangerous and willing to kill whoever he wants, with the only source of humor being him showing distraction to a string.
** In fact, this might be the most terrifying version of Dex-Star ever. When he coughs up his "hairballs", he makes the choking motion a real cat does, before it comes up as red lava destroying everything it touches. He doesn't so much fly as he stalks his prey on an invisible surface.
!!#[=BackInaFlash=]
* The {{Bad Future}}s Barbara causes by fixing her mistakes. The entire city and possibly the rest of the world has been destroyed by Starro. And in another, the world is under the [[TheBadGuyWins complete rule of General Zod]]. Barbara and Barry's reactions are appropriate enough.
!!#[=PowerSurge=]
* Though Kara was just [[FakingTheDead faking her own death]], the fact that Livewire was [[AxCrazy ecstatic]] after having [[HeroKiller killed Supergirl]] just goes to show that though this is a show for children, the infamous bloodlust of the DC {{Rogues Gallery}} is still very much intact.
** Not to mention the utter [[HeroicBSoD look of shock and horror upon the girls' faces upon learning]] that their beloved friend had been killed. The thought that Supergirl could have been axed off just like that, though implausible given the show's nature, can give someone quite the shock, as it did the group.
!!#[=AllyCat=]
* You can see a corpse holding the Book of Destiny at the beginning. It can be quite disturbing in a kid show.
* Lex's gameplan after obtaining the book. A catastrophic meteor, said by him to be "extinction-level", was going to hit the city. And while everyone would be without any leadership or ways to live, Lex will be there, offering support in exchange for control over the city... and then, the world. This plan was so insane that [[EvenEvilHasStandards even Catwoman was disturbed and disgusted]].
!!#[=Retreat=]
* The whole episode plays out like a zombie movie, thanks to Poison Ivy reanimating dead plants. And it's definitely ''not'' for comedy, either.
** Those who have a vine from the Plant zombies turn into one themselves. Very slowly, as demonstrated with Hal.
* Just the whole fact that Pam was outright trying to murder them all. Including Jessica, who the two were briefly becoming friends in ''#Misgiving Tree.''
!!#[=DinnerForFive=]
* '''Characters/{{Deathstroke}}''' of all characters is the main villain of the episode. And though viewers who are familiar with the Wilson name may figure it out, {{The Reveal}} that the mean father Barbara is dining with is actually a [[ProfessionalKiller professional assassin with dozens of confirmed kills]] and is aiming to take ''her father out next'' is chilling nonetheless. [[NightmareRetardant Though]] since this is a [[LighterAndSofter watered-down version]] of the actual threat that Slade is, he's made out to be a {{Bumbling Dad}} by the end.
* It's briefly seen, but upon finding out about Deathstroke's intention to kill her father, Barbara seems to channel her [[ComicBook/{{Batman}} idol]] and gives an surprisingly intense DeathGlare.
!!#[=LivingTheNightmare=]
* The girls' nightmares, courtesy of Fuseli. Fuseli himself resembles and very well could be a demon, goblin, gremlin, or imp.
* Zee's worst fear is an all-blue version of herself that represents all she fears. Once unleashed by Fuseli, she almost gets defeated until she faces it head on.
!!#[=AllAboutZee=]
* [[GreenEyedMonster Casey]] [[PowerParasite Krinsky]]. She starts as a creepy and hyper-obsessed stalker to Zee, but then her [[IJustWantToBeYou true colors]] reveal themselves and it all goes downhill from there.
!!#[=TheFreshPrincessOfRenFaire=]
* The episode's antagonist, Ember, is a shapeshifting dragon who is hunting for princesses ''to eat''. Once she spots a princess, she [[SlasherSmile creepily smiles]] and then follows her into an alley, where she transforms and attempts to eat that princess. The way she does this is kind of similar to how [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything kidnappers abduct their victims]].
** And if you think her motives of ''eating'' unsuspecting princesses are bad enough, Barbara's description of Ember's motives of eating Zee sells it:
--> Barbara: That thing is gonna ''eat'' Zee! Like biting into her flesh, chewed up, swallowed and literally digested in her bowels!
** Karen mentions that the renaissance fair that the girls are attending is the one fair where [[AndIMustScream people go and never come back]].
** Ember's [[VoiceOfTheLegion voice doesn't sound any better]] when she transformed into a dragon.
!!#[=HappyBirthdayZee=]
* The same blue magic that overcame Zee in "#[=IllusionsOfGrandeur=]" and "#[=LivingTheNightmare=]" returns here, and it's revealed to be fueled completely on negative emotions. We get another display of this power as she accidentally lets out a spell that hypnotizes her friends.
* Zee's friends in general under said spell.
** The way they [[NightmareFace wake up]] [[IcyBlueEyes after getting affected]] [[MindControlEyes by Zee's spell]].
** They become increasingly more unhinged the more the episode goes on and Zee starts regretting it.
** The ''neck cracks ...''
!!#[=WarriorandtheJester=]
* {{The Reveal}} of Diana finding out Harley Quinn's true identity. Though it's [[ClarkKenting obvious to just about everyone and outright shown several times]], it's clear that after this, [[NothingIsTheSameAnymore the status quo will be utterly shattered]] and is almost certain to be a catalyst to a breach in trust in the future. It's hard not being a little on edge after [[StatusQuoIsGod expecting everything to return to normal at the end]].
!!#[=NightmareInGotham=]
* The Joker. He gives Gotham its "scariest Halloween", but also doesn't want anyone else to top his actions in the future. His solution? ''Killing everyone living in Gotham and destroying the city so no one will be alive to surpass his feat.''
-->'''Supergirl:''' Well, ''[hauls Solomon Grundy]'' that takes care of the monsters!\
